Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! Thank you to who all who guessed yesterday on how many pieces Emmy has in her collection. If you haven’t guessed, you have until 9PM ( EST) Friday to guess. Winner of the $5 Amazon gift card will be announced on Saturday.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

Sammy is thankful for the first corn of the season ( from the grocery store). It was surprisingly good.

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom:

The Doctor said I needed more sun
so I stayed outside and baked like a bun.
I realized it was too much for me
when the carousel horses started to break free.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

  1. I never knew kitties might enjoy some corn on the cob! Maybe cause there’s butter on it??
    Cool!

Love your poem, too…yup, sun can make you nuts if you stay in it too long…

    1. Sammy sure does and no butter on it- good corn doesn’t need it. Glad you like the poem 🙂

  2. I think I would have had too much sun too if I saw that happening! Sammy is enjoying corn.

    1. I just realised, I can see the comments and even my own that I just published! Yayy!
Usually I have to wait 24 hours before I can see them.

  3. I used to always hope the carousel horses would become real! Good poem!

  4. That is such a good poem. And we love the horses jumping off the Merry go round. Have a great day.

  5. Sammy, that corn looks yummy! We’re going to look for your contest now.

  6. Sammy, you’re so silly. Cats don’t eat corn! But now I want some, too. 😉 By the way, my dear, departed kitty Luna sure liked butter when she could get it. Heh… That poem is very cute for a super cool photo. And I can guess the fill-in answer to number three. ~grin~ Be well!

  7. I do so love sweet corn on the cob. We had some a few weeks ago. I especially like it from the grocery store, shucked and all the corn silk removed.

Too much sun will surely make one see things like flying pigs and horses galloping off the round round.
    Hugs Cecilia

    1. That is nice, I used to shuck it at the store because Millie went so nuts for the silks. I miss that now. XO

  8. Sunshine is a good thing…in moderation!
Wish we had some today; it’s warmer out there, but it’s grey and rainy.
Oh well, the plants need the water.

  9. Way to go Sammy, enjoy that yum! That was a cute poem. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  10. We had corn on the cob the other day too. It was delicious. I didn’t know kitties liked it though.

    Love your poem.

I’m all ready for the friendly fill-ins. Great questions.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. ♥

  15. Sammy cracks us up with his love of corn. Mom and Dad had some last week that wasn’t too bad; though this is a bit early for fresh corn. You gave us a giggle with your poem. 1. Sammy does love his corn and there is no butter on it so he just loves the corn 🙂 XO

    Shoko

  17. Yum, corn. Need to look for some around here.

That would be quite a mirage from too much sun!

  18. We’ve never had corn, Sammy. In fact, we’re the only cats our mom has had who didn’t like *something* she ate. We’re not even enticed by cheese!

    1. Not even cheese? Wow- my Brody loves cheese. He can’t have much because once he had so much he had to get an enema.

  19. Wonderful shares here! The corn on the cob! Too cute! Does Sammy like the corn or the butter? It seems funny to see such a cute feline enjoying corn on the cob. I loved my visit. Thank you and Happy Weekend!
