Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop I am thankful that we have plenty of toilet paper. Also thankful I was able to get a bag of Smart Food as the store in my town was sold out. And I am thankful my family is currently healthy.

I am missing The Great One as her mom is working from home and keeping her and her little sister secluded for safety.

Joanie is missing her play dates too.

I was listening to Bobby Bones’ radio show yesterday morning and he was talking about setting some goals for this time that we are isolated. That is a great idea so I am doing that too. My goals are washing all the windows, writing another children’s book and spending more time brushing the cats. Do you have any goals for this time?

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom.

Such a beautiful beach
but for all of us it is out of reach.
For now we need to stay at home
and resist the urge to roam.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. Lately, I have done a lot of _________________________.

2. My ______________are__________________.

  1. A Perfect poem for the situation we are now in!

I was able to find TP yesterday, too! And though there was a limit, I could have gone back and gotten lots more…amazing! (I did not…)

My goals are just to stay healthy, as I am obliged to go to my work…and I AM needed there!

If you have Skype, maybe Joanie can see the Great one?!

    1. Thank you. Glad you got some tp.. I hope you, your family and patients all stay healthy. Good idea for Skype. XO

  2. My human is worried she won’t have enough toilet paper until they get restocked because she didn’t need any when people panicked! We have just 8 rolls here in reserve. Normally she doesn’t buy until she’s down to 2.

  3. We are “nesting in place” too and finding that there’s more than enough to keep us busy here in our home sweet home. We know you miss THE GREAT ONE but it’s best to stay healthy, stay at home as much as you can, and hope that the universe does NOT run out of toilet paper!!! Good job on the poem this week. A little bit of paradise that we can visit in our imagination for now.

    Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam

  4. You did a super job with the poem, sweet boy!

My client was here day before yesterday and we had a good time. We will see after consideration, each time of visits…him here or mom there.

  5. I hadn’t thought about setting goals. A great idea though. We are pretty much home bound too. Safer that way. I just want to not get the virus.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Great questions.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  6. two day we iz thanx full that.. for next week any way; de food gurl haz employ….we due knot wanna hafta go two werk if her place clozez..R skillz R limited 🙂 ♥♥

  7. I love your poem and we are spring cleaning! I plan to finish my 3rd poetry book, finally! At least when I look outside, there are pink buds on the trees!

  8. 1. Lately, I have done a lot of Physical exercises to rehab my broken leg.

    2. My 3 cats are my nurses.

    3. I can’t help but stay indoors all day, as I am using a walker on 1 leg.

    4. When I meet a stranger, I am usually using an Uber to go to a Doctor appointment, or on a quick bit of shopping at a nearby Walmart.

Hang in there my friend…this, too, will pass. 😀

    1. Thank you for these great answers although I am sorry you have a broken leg. I hope you are better soon. XO

  9. We love the poem. We have a huge lake here with a big sandy beach (biggest kitty litter box you’ve ever seen!) but we felines are not allowed to roam there. The Female Human has promised us a cat stroller so that we can go check it out in the summer.

  10. Yes, we have to find a way to keep positive.

We’re homebodies and Mum works from home so being stuck indoors doesn’t really bother us.

We have some fun ideas for future blog posts and we’re also trying to think of ways we can continue to support animals and animal charities at this worrying time.

    Good luck with your book!

  11. Ellen,

Staying home right now is a good idea. Hopefully things will return to normal again soon. I got your fill-ins and I’ll try to remember to link up tomorrow. I’m finding it hard to get much accomplished in Blogosphere like I want this week. Take care and be well, my friend!

  12. I enjoyed your poem:) I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning around the house, organizing my photos, working on my Zazzle stores and going out to the backyard once in awhile to get some sun and fresh air.
    Take care.

  13. Tough times indeed for everyone. No one is exempt from the difficulties this new way of life is bringing our way. Time for lots of compassion, kindness, and love for those in need.

  14. Joanie, here’s hoping you’ll have your playdates again soon!
I hadn’t thought about setting goals for this downtime, but it’s an excellent idea.
I think The Hubby and I should plan them together, otherwise all of my goals will be ‘read as many books as possible”…LOL!

  15. So happy you are both healthy no. We do know that both you and Joanie are missing your niece. What great goals you have. My plans include getting more yard work completed. Stay sane and safe. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  16. Hang in there Joanie, your playmates will be back before you know it. Purromiss😸We don’t do anything differtly than usually, miss Ellen, we only have more peace inside ourselves because we can do all the things more easy, without the feeling that it has to be done within a certain time. For us this time is also given for introspection, even more than before, that we use gratefully💗Pawkisses for a Happy Healthy Weekend and a wonderful Spring🐾😽💞

  17. According to mom it’s getting kinda slim pickings around here, but she’s managed to find plenty of TP. We’re all good for now, but I’m picking up bits and pieces of conversations between mom and dad that since he’s technically not “essential” his work might end up surprising him with a let-go. I’m keeping my paws crossed. Stay well!

  18. Isn’t it crazy how things are flying off the store shelves so fast? I feel bad for those who haven’t been able to make it to the store in time to get what they need. My mom went to the store for me last week when I was at work, because she was worried everything would be gone before I got off work. Best mom ever!

My work place can’t easily close down (I work at a chemistry lab where all sorts of things are tested, including things necessary for various medical treatments, so closing down would be an absolute last resort), so I’m still going to work every day. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m a little jealous of those who are staying home, as I have such a backlog of housework and hobbies I’d love to get done. But that’s okay. I’m incredibly lucky, because I have essentially zero chance of losing my paycheck during all of this, and many people are not so lucky. I have cousins and uncles who have had their hours cut and lost work during all of this, and I feel terrible for them.

Well, that was a lot of rambling. Joanie, we’re so sorry The Great One can’t visit right now. We know you’ll be so happy when you see her again! We’re sending all of you lots of well wishes! And, as always, your poem of perfect! Purrs!

  19. I like your idea of setting goals. I too want to wash windows, deep clean both bathrooms, also brush the cats (though not Benny as he is so old). I was also thinking of looking through the recipe book I have and trying some recipes, make some homemade bread, and working on some neglected crafts.

  20. After a lot of preparation, we’re also semi-isolating ourselves to limit exposure. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to blogging! We have enough TP as well! It’s a crazy time and interesting to see what items are flying off the shelves at the store. I should set some goals…that is a great idea. Take care and be well. xoxox

  21. I am going to work on organizing my postcards that I collected when I first started blogging back in 2009. Then I have a ton of baseball cards my oldest son left behind. I Have the plastic sheets to sort them into pages. I am bible journaling with my youngest daughter who lives 2200 miles away in NY state. I am not artistic like her but I can color and I have pens and pencils and tabs to get organized. I have tons of photos to sort and then all the housecleaning stuff. A project every day. In between it all I have books to finish reading. Always love seeing the answer for Friendly Fill-Ins. Thank you for all you do to keep us sane here. HUGS to you and the cat crew!
