A Cat With Three Tales

Happy Friday everyone!

I was thrilled to win my first blog prize a couple weeks ago from our friends at The Cat on My Head ( http://thecatonmyhead.com/). And it was a book πŸ™‚ one of my favorite things. A Cat With Three Tales by Karen Reiser is the story of a kitty named Max. Like many cats, he suffers from the loss of a forever home more than once.

It is a short book that I read in one sitting and cried my eyes out for most of the time. It breaks my heart when a cat loses a forever home. It is a well written book, but I cry enough about kitties that I didn’t enjoy it. I was also left wondering what happens to his brother, Squirelly after having lived with him for 4 years. I am sure they were both heart broken.

Lucy is recommending a movie for this weekend because she is a cat and she is Lucy so she recommends whatever she wants. We need to thank http://www.mochasmysteriesmeows.com/ for telling us about it. The Nine Lives ofΒ  Christmas will be on Hallmark Saturday night ( check your local listings). 003

Please come back tomorrow for a chance to win crocheted turkey legs and a wishbone.

We are hopping today: Grab button for Pet Parade Blog Hop

  1. Aww…..I hear you on the crying thing – I would do the same thing I’m sure. It just kills me when animals lose their security and homes – sometimes for silly reasons sometimes not. It doesn’t matter – they wind up confused and frightened and that just hurts to hear about. Anyway we’ll be back for another chance at a turkey leg you can bet on it!

    Hugs, Sammy (and Mom)

  2. I’ve purchased many cat books that have a lovely title and images, then inside are horrible stories about death, disaster and lose of home. Makes me mad! Maybe someday I’ll post about books that cat-lovers should NOT read! Looks like you could add to that list too.

    1. One Friday I did do a post on books we don’t recommend πŸ™‚ There was an especially bad one about a lady in India who had saved kittens then let them out and the father killed some of them, I wish I could remember the name of it to not recommend that.

  3. Our Mama refuses to read books about kitties who lose their homes or are otherwise mistreated (even if there is a happy ending) since it makes her mad, sad and frustrated all at once. She knows cats are at the mercy of humans and that they are often not shown mercy! That’s all she needs to know unless she is in a position to help them.

    1. I try to avoid those stories too, but sometimes I am fooled and once I start, I need to know what happens.

  4. Mommy want to win a turkey leg and I do too. Heeee. xxoo

Mommy said she can NOT read things like that. Just like she can’t see or read things about abuse. It breaks her into pieces and she never ever forgets.

    1. Good luck, there are 2 for the winner- one raw and one well-done, which would you take Katie?

  5. I’ll have to look for that movie. Raven’s dad bought me a pet story book for Christmas a few years ago. He knows I don’t like sad endings, so he read the end to make sure it was a happy ending for me! πŸ™‚

  6. So sowwy yous had a cwy. Weez not like it when kitties lose their homes eevew. Weez just not unnewstand it. Weez suwe do hope weez win a turkey leg or two. But weez wish Sammy kuld win one too. Weez wish all kitties kuld always win. πŸ™‚

  7. We never ever read books about animals unless we know for sure the animals are all safe and happy and alive at the end so we can feel good. Working in real hands on rescue like Mom L does is sad enough we don’t need a book to make is all cry more

    1. I admire your mom for working in a rescue. I can only help from a distance by making cat toys and stuff like that.

    1. You’re welcome,I wouldn’t have known about it if it weren’t for Melissa’s Mocha’s Mysteries and More. I am taping it to and currently reading a copy from the library.
