Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. This week I am thankful for pussy willows, the first sign of spring.
Thank you to all who gave their input yesterday on my A-Z choices. Almost everyone chose money saving tips for cats so that is what I will do. Is anyone else doing the A-Z Challenge in April?
Here is my poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo prompt.
Hand in hand they walk,
there is no need to talk.
Why ruin a precious moment with words,
talking is for the birds.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I could live on _____________________.
2. I rarely __________________, but when I do, ______________________.
3. I would most like to be known for _________.
4. If you want _________, you have to _________.
Awww, what a sweet and sentimental poem! Spot on, too:)
That is a lot of pussy willows!
Spring might come here tomorrow with temps in the 60’s, but we are going to pay for that with strong winds, thunderstorms and possible tornadoes. Yikes.
Thank you. I hope you don’t get tornadoes. XO
Here we have snow, and now you have me longing for pussy willows!
Sorry. Do you have any neat you?
We are expecting forythia to bloom soon. And TBT says he will dig everyone of them out when they do… Well, there ARE kinda taking over…
Ours are too 🙂
My human loves pussy willows, but she has only ever seen them in stores.
They are so pretty. 🙂
Ellen, obviously, you don’t have allergies to airborne pollen – when we had a pussy willow bush in our yard (years ago) I couldn’t go near it when it was in bloom… I can’t imagine having them inside my house. That said, I do love their looks.
I have allergies- I take allegra daily 🙂
That is a PERFECT poem for the photo this week. Walking in the silent snow….much better than chatting endlessly about nothing! Love it.
Hugs, Pam
Thank you. XO
We are very lucky in that we have some pussy willows, thanks to such a good friend. Great poem, we like that a lot. Have a good day.
Thank you. I hope you had a good day too. XO
Perfect poem! And you know if you don’t need any words your totally comfortable with that person… 🙂 Those pussy willows are amazing!
you’re* totally comfortable… not your!
No problem- that typo is not bad like the one I had last week 🙂
Very true. Thank you, glad you liked the poem. XO
That was a terrific poem and hooray for Spring coming! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. 🙂
When you are so compatble with someone you can be quiet together, it’s a good thing.
No pussy willow here, please, i’m allergic.
It is 🙂 Sorry you are allergic to them.
As much as I fret and complain about Winter, sometimes while on the back deck with The PO’M and Sweetie, I can listen to the snow fall quietly, and it’s a very peaceful experience. Can’t beat it!
I agree 🙂
That’s a lovely poem. The only thing missing in that photo is The OP Pack:) We would love to be strolling along with the happy couple in the beautiful snow!
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Thank you. I bet you would love to walk in the snow 🙂
I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins tomorrow. Great questions.
I’m glad you’ve decided what theme you’re going to use for the A to Z challenge. I’ll be here everyday to read your posts.
Have a fabulous thankful Thursday, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
Thank you. I look forward to your answers. XO
What a wonderful harvest of pussy willows and a nice sign of Spring.
“I know a little pussy
Her coat is silver gray
She lives down in the meadow
Not very far away.
Though she is a pussy
She’ll never be a cat.
She is a pussy willow.
Now what do you think of that!”
I don’t know who wrote that.
xxoo
That is a good poem 🙂 XO
Great poem. I can’t wait to see everything start blooming in the garden.
Thank you 🙂
A long, long time ago my mother saw an Oriental physician. She took a bouquet of these cuties, which he called ‘kitties in the tree’. Isn’t that cute? I may have already told you my plan to do a novel writing challenge in April, instead. But have fun. I’ll enjoy reading your words. Best wishes, my dear!
That is a cute name 🙂 Good luck on your challenge- I know you will do well. XO
Thanks for sharing your poem with us. We are very happy that spring weather is starting to move in. Just hope spring stays around a little longer before the hot summer is here. Have a great day.
Thank you. I am not a fan of hot weather, but spring is nice 🙂
Oh, miss Ellen, we have them in our garden too, not so much though….MOL 😀 Lovely poem, I like birdies talk?Pawkisses for a Thankful Thursday???

Love your poem so true. A much sadder picture with only one person. . . .
Thank you. Yes, that is sad. 🙁
Pussy willows are so lovely. I like to feel the catkins softness.
I love them too.
We have pussy willows growing around the hedges of our fields. I always like how pretty they look.
That is a sweet poem.
I love them too. Thank you. XO
I always have the plan to plant pussy willows in my yard. Maybe someday……! And, as the recipient of one of those vases, I thank you again for your generosity. You have a lovely way with words for the poetry prompts.
Thank you. XO
I absolutely adore pussy willows!
Me too 🙂
Mom hasn’t seen pussy willow since she left New Jersey!!
Great poem!!! That was an interesting photo.
The Florida Furkids

OMC Pussy Willows!!! Ours died. We don’t know what mommy did wrong. They had such purretty roots and mommy planted them up and then they died. Mommy says after everythin’ settles down, she might see ifin any of the others you sent will root after all this time and ifin so, she’s just gonna grow ’em in a pot in the house. She has a daylight lamp and can make sure it gets the right amount of sun and heat and cool inside. Somethin’ she can’t do outside. We were so lookin’ furward to havin’ our own. Big hugs
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
I can send her newer ones. Sorry the others didn’t make it 🙁 XO
What a lovely poem! Sometimes walking together in silence is the most beautiful experience. I’m really looking forward to spring!
Thank you. XO
Pussy willows! I don’t think I’ve seen those growing wild since I was a kid. I need to find some.
These are not wild, we have trees with them. 🙂
That is one bountiful bunch!
It is a good year for them 🙂
So thankful for Spring!
Us too 🙂
Mom loves pussy willows. When she was growing up, they had them the yard. She never sees them for sale at the nurseries here. Your poem is poignant and sweet. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Sorry you don’t see them near you.Thank you, glad you liked my poem. XO
You know, I don’t see many pussy willows in my neck of the woods. We have lots of other blooms trying to emerge, but I rarely see these beauties. I am also participating in the A to Z challenge. I’ll yet again be creating doodles for it, and this time around all of them will be starring my angel Rosie. And your poem is so sweet! It fits this image beautifully.
I look forward to your a-z doodles 🙂 XO
Wow, that’s a big pile of pussy willows!
ANd we have picked more since 🙂
Wow, that’s a lot of pussy willows ! We love them too. Purrs
Thank you 🙂 XO
Fun poem. I love it. I also love pussy willows. I used to see them when my dad was stationed in Japan but here in Arizona, I haven’t seen one in a long time. I love how soft they feel.
Thank you. Sorry you don’t get to see them now. 🙁
