Friendly’s Fill-Ins Week 136

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

1. Every Christmas, I ________________.
2. The day after Christmas, I ______________________.
3. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, and _________.
4. All I want for Christmas is _________.

My answers:

  1. Every Christmas, I watch the Dr. Who Christmas Special with my hubby. This year it won’t be on until New Year’s Day and I am miffed.
  2. The day after Christmas, I go out shopping for half off wrapping paper and other supplies.
  3. “Twas the night before Christmas, and our house will be filled with loved ones while the kitties will be safely locked in bedrooms.
  4. All I want for Christmas is everyone ( 2-legged and 4-legged) to be happy and healthy- I know that is asking a lot.

Sammy was helping The Great One make catnip toys for Christmas. Joanie was on the other side of her supervising.

We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.

  1. Aww I’m sorry they moved the show date for Dr. Who Christmas Special. How weird that they moved a Christmas special to New Year’s Day.

The day after Christmas is a great day to find deals, but OY the crowds.

I hope the kitties will be fine during all the festivities and that everyone has a happy time together.

I bet they had a great time making catnip toys together. 🙂

Have a blessed weekend and a very Merry Christmas.

  2. 1. Every Christmas, I make a special dinner after coming home from Church…unless I have to work, like this year.
    2. The day after Christmas, I sometimes shop for bargains, but this year I will make my dinner and try to relax…it will be the beginning of a week’s vacation form work, though I have not made any special plans..
    3. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, and All the christmas lights were on in the house, including the battery lit ones, which stay ff until Dec 24 & 25th:)
    4. All I want for Christmas is the safe return of my computer, and hubby’s IPad. If that cannot be then for the insurance to hurry up and ‘come through’. But above all, I wish and pray for peace and good will among men, also good health for everyone.

    1. I am sorry you have to work. I hope you can get your computer and ipad back. Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy new year!

  3. Ellen,

We used to venture out to buy half-off Christmas wrapping, bows, … but we haven’t done that in many years. We still have a good stash. I hope y’all have a good time Christmas Eve. We may get together with our kids on Sunday afternoon/evening since some have to work on Christmas Eve. It doesn’t matter to me which day we gather just as long as we share in the holiday season. Have a joyful time with 2 and 4 legged friends. 🙂 Merry Christmas, my friend!

  4. Mom usually doesn’t go out for the bargains the day after Christmas but this year maybe. We love all of your fill-in answers!! Hope you have a wonderful holiday and who knows – maybe some snow????

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Meowser, Ms. Ellen, catnip toys are the purrfect gift to make!!! My staff starts Christmas shopping for the next Christmas the day after this one, too, but we don’t use much gift wrap. Since we begin so early, we mainly use gift bags (IMHO, these are almost as good as a box, so they’re a gift all by themselves) … Anyway, there is one shelf for birthdays, another for bags for Christmas gifts, and things get added throughout the year. This helps relieve the stress at Christmas because they only need to add tissue paper, therefore, they can focus on getting those lights up propurrly and baking.

  6. I am all for you #4!
    1. Every Christmas, I dream about steamed crab legs!
    2. The day after Christmas, I think is the best day of the holidays except for Thanksgiving.
    3. “Twas the night before Christmas, and pizza is on the menu!
    4. All I want for Christmas is a peaceful quiet day and an old Christmas movie. Oh, and a glass of wine!

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I hope you get your pizza, crab legs, Christmas movie and wine 🙂 XO

  7. Love all your answers. I’m sorry your show isn’t on until New Years. That doesn’t make sense.

I love your answer to number four very much.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. May you and yours have a very Merry Christmas. ♥

  8. I’m with you on #4. What a wonderful thing that would be. I’m a sucker for Christmas shows. It’s s shame your favorite is coming on after Christmas. Sammy looks like he’s taking his job seriously.

  9. Our house will soon be filled with all the big kids and little kids too. Mom and Dad did money gifts this year, so no wrapping paper. We wish you all a blessed and happy Christmas.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. TW always goes out the day after Christmas looking for deals too only we don’t have any large stores around here. The best she can do is Christmas candy in Walgreens and the supermarkets. When she worked, she could shop in NYC.

  11. It really does not make a lot of sense for them to show the Christmas Special on New Years Day. I wonder what they are thinking.

We won’t have family over because we have very little family who can come to visit. This is okay because we really would not be healthy enough to entertain them. We will have a quiet Christmas with just our oldest daughter, Suzanne, one dog, three cats, and me. This sounds good to me.

Have a Merry, Jesus Filled Christmas.

  12. I think Joanie definitely took the best role heheh!

U liked your fill ins Oh! and enjoy Doctor Who 🙂

Merry Christmas and best wishes from London UK 🙂

  13. We are totally with you on #4! The day after Christmas, I always feel a bit let down that it is all over after all the prep and anticipation. Maybe I need to go shopping for bargains like you, that might cheer me up! 🙂

  14. I’ve never watched Dr. Who even though my kids were huge fans and recommended it. I’ll have to give it a try.

And #4. Yes! Health and happiness for all.

  15. What fun and festive fill-ins to match this fun and festive season! How strange that the Christmas Dr. Who isn’t on until New Year’s Day. Then again, I watch Christmas shows and movies all the way until January 6th, when the Twelve Days of Christmas end. So, it’s 100% likely that I’ll be watching Christmas shows on New Year’s Day as well. On Christmas Eve, my sister and I go over to our parents house and we open gifts. They have 12 cats, but since it’s just my sister and I who are visiting, the kitties are allowed to roam free. That means we always get tons of help opening gifts. Have a merry and bright day!

    1. That must be a lot of fun. My kitties were loose on Christmas Day because it was just us and my mom so we had helpers too 🙂
