Friendly Fill-Ins Week 132

Hi everyone! Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Please leave your link (at bottom of post) here or at my co-host’s Four-Legged Furballs. You can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

1. Black Friday _________________________________.

2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is ___________________________.
3. ‘Tis the season for _________.
4. I never jumped on the _________ bandwagon.

My answers:

  1. Black Friday I will be out shopping with my mom. We go out about 7 AM, the crowds are gone by then.
  2. A pet peeve of mine this time of year is receiving Christmas cards that people don’t sign with love. We get cards from relatives that don’t sign love, just their names, no note. I figure if you are going to spend 50 cents on a stamp at least write a little note and spread the love. I drive my hubby crazy getting so mad about that, I even use HBO words sometimes.
  3. ‘Tis the season for Christmas music. I am breaking my cds out today.
  4. I never jumped on the cell phone bandwagon. I have a cheap cell phone that I use to call my hubby when I am off with my mom, but that is all.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
And the winner of our Thanksgiving giveaway is Daisy Mae of Crystal and Daisy Mae’s Photo Blogging Site.

  1. I know what you mean about the ‘thoughtless’ cards.

I do not care for Black Friday…it upsets my inner peace, and I think it brings out the greed in peeps. Plus the crowds here are all day and horrible.

I have not even gotten out my Christmas decorations…love the Christmas music too…mostly the real ones not the silly modern ditties…sigh…I sure am a stick in the mud! MOL!

I too do not have a smart phone…just a ‘hello-goodbye’ one, as I call it:)

  2. We have a question. What in the world are “HBO words”?

Black Furriday – We thought that was another day for celebrating Black Cats (mol)?

    1. Swear words. We call them HBO words because that is a movie channel that can have swears unlike regular tv shows. I celebrate black cats every day. XO

  3. The one time i went out on Black Friday, the crowds were not gone the whole day, at least it seemed that way to me, i hope you have a great time being out with your mother.

Christmas music is certainly welcome now, and i’d better get started on my Christmas cards now.

  4. I hear you about the cellphones. I only have a flip phone. It isn’t even on right now. It is a simple prepay phone. Since there is no money right now to prepay, it is turned off. That way it doesn’t hurt our credit when we can’t pay it.

I don’t know of anything I need to do on a cellphone other than call. Suzanne and I are usually together, so we only need her phone anyway.

I want nothing to do with Black Friday. One year Suzanne went to buy the kids bicycles at Walmart on Black Friday. Everyone of them, all seven, fell apart in a few days. When we had the store, I assembled bikes all the time. I know they were put together correctly. The threads stripped from the peddles on most of them. The chains broke on others. They were cheap made. Walmart did not make it right, either.

    Have a blessed week.

  5. ConCatulations to the giveaway winner! Mom ordered from PetSmart yesterday and is picking it up today. That’s all the Black Friday shopping for us! She agrees…bring on the Christmas music!

  6. Great answers! I think I might be the only one who gets too much Christmas music. We have one radio station that plays the same ones over and over again from now to the end of the year. I need variety. LOL Have a great weekend!

  7. #4 I’m definitely with you on that! I bought my phone off my daughter for $50 almost four years ago when she was upgrading to a new one. She was willing to give it to me for free but I decided to give her a little something for it. I only use my phone for emergency purposes or to be able to call home. I don’t even have a data plan on it. I’m wonderfully outdated! LOL

I love getting Christmas cards in the mail, especially the ones that are filled with love! So I get you about that 🙂

  8. I agree with the cell phone. I have a cell phone for calling home or long distance at a special rate. That’s it.

Christmas Songs can wait till later in December when I’m getting into the spirit. Not so early…please!

Concats Crystal, enjoy the toys Daisy.

    Loves, Jean

  9. I went for years without a cell phone when I retired. I’ve had a smart phone for about two years now. Love it.

Way to go on your win, Daisy Mae.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. My best to your peeps. ♥

  10. No smarty phones here either! Don’t need or want them. Hope you had fun shopping and that your THanksgiving was super!

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)
p.s. I have my Christmas CDs playing NOW! 🙂

  11. Great answers.

Mum tells me it took her a long time to get a cell phone or “mobile” as we call them over here in the UK.

And it took her quite a while to get a smartphone.

  12. Concats to the winner! We hope you found some good deals shopping today! Our mommy made Daddy go to boot camp with her this morning instead of going shopping. We’re not sure he thinks that was a deal! They both have smartphones – Daddy needs his for work and Mommy is on her phone all.the.time. using the internet and other apps. She’s addicted but trying to recover.

  13. Concatulations to Daisy Mae! And your answers to the Fill-ins are great! Mom hates shopping…especially when there are crowds of people! She shudders when she looks at the mayhem on the television for Black Friday! And cell phone…Mom has had one since forever…for work! Purrsonally, she is one of those people who IGNORES phone calls if she is busy.

  14. I’m glued to my cell phone! It’s how I take 95% of my blog photos. I usually carry it anywhere I go in the house because you never know when the cats will be doing something funny or cute. 🙂

  15. The cell phone makes listening to audiobooks so much easier, so they’ve got that going for them! I listen while in the car, and walking, and while taking a bath.

  16. I hope you got some good deals on Black Friday! I have never been able to stomach Black Friday shopping. Then again, I can barely stomach shopping on any day of the year. And I am definitely with you on the Christmas cards. I have aunts and uncles and other close family members who very generically sign cards, and that does bother me. I try my best to make mine at least somewhat personal. My Christmas music is going, too! I hope your Black Friday was fun and festive!
