Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful to you all for the birthday wishes yesterday. Also thankful I was able to celebrate with my mom, husband, niece and her hubby and kids. I am truly blessed.

Here is my poem for Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day to go with this fun prompt.

Dad’s shoes are my port in a storm
they are always nice and warm. 
I do wish they smelled a little better. 
I’ll forgive that because he is a good petter. 
This photo prompt reminded me of my angel Millie- he loved shoes.

  4. That is a PERFECT poem! We think shoes are interesting – like “magnets” – their lovely (?) aromas attract us in an interesting way…….Great job on the poetry and we are glad your Mama had a nice birthday!!!!!

    Excellent poem; I think cats rather like our smells, as I recall Chuck and Angel sleeping inside our shoes and sandals as kittens.

  24. Happy Belated Birthday! I made a meme with Angel Sammy for the occasion, and it now appears on my Friday blog posting. I am sorry for slipping up like that. I guess getting older is having a negative effect on my memory. I had even chosen the picture beforehand, but lost track of it. I’m going to check next time before commiting to the post.
