Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful that the spreading of my sister’s ashes last week went well and brought us some peace. I hope no one is offended by the photo. I think it is beautiful.  I wish I had one of how the ashes seemed to swirl together and fly off like her spirit leaving.

Sorry, I skipped the poem this week.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. ___________, _________________ and _______________________ are a few of my favorite things.

  1. Wishing your family peace and comfort, Ellen. Thoughts and prayers are with your sister and family. What a beautiful thought, the ashes swirling and flying away like her spirit.

  2. I am so glad for you that spreading the ashes brought peace. Erich’s are still here, and I don’t think I am able to let them go. It may happen further on in my journey without him. XO

    1. Thank you. You don’t ever have to let them go. My sister requested they be scattered so we were following her wishes. XO

    1. Thank you. She passed last year, but my niece had a tough time deciding where to scatter her mother’s ashes as that was her request. XO

  3. I think it’s a beautiful photo. Mom’s urn is at home, and I’m planning to decorate the table around her with my collection of Day of the Dead cats. I’ve wondered if I should post the photo once it’s done.

  4. Beautiful & touching photo Ellen…may Vanessa’s spirit fly free now! I remember when we scattered my husband Kevin’s ashes; they too swirled & looped & it was comforting to watch….like a bird takin off in flight!
Much love & many {{{hugs}}} BellaSita Mum aka Sherri-Ellen

      1. It was not his 1st choice. He wanted to be buried with his GrandParents but Kevin’s Mother REFUSED to tell which Cemetary they were buried at. So I went with Kevin’s 2nd choice….
And last year I went thru my old Dairies & found the name of Cemetary….but it is far too late now!

        1. That is so sad that she would not tell which cemetery. I am sure his spirit was fine with your choice. XO

  5. I am glad you found some peace spreading your sister’s ashes. I certainly was not offended by the beautiful photo and the image you described about the ashes swirling together as her spirit left. I find your thought and vision about that to be very comforting. I hope you found some comfort too along with the sense of peace. Hugs to you, Ellen♥
