Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop .  I am thankful to all my loyal readers. I appreciate that you take the time to read and comment on this silly little blog. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if your country is not celebrating it, I still hope you have a wonderful day.

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom:

2020 has been an awful year

because of COVID we live in fear.
So I don’t care about my electric bill.
I just want to give everyone a thrill.
We plan to put out some decorations, but nothing like this. I can’t imagine how many hours of work it took to decorate that. I am looking forward to the return of The Great Christmas Light Fight. It will be on December 9, 16 and 23rd. Do any of you watch it?
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. Why is _________________ so expensive?

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. I have watched the great Christmas Light Fight, it’s always lots of fun. As I’m sure you know, some of them start working on their displays in July! We used to ride around looking at lavish decorations too, but those houses that used to do that here aren’t doing it anymore. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you, your family and friends and kitties, Ellen! XO

  2. I just had a comment vanish … I was saying I have watched the Great Christmas Light Fight, it was fun! We also used to ride around and look at lavish displays but the houses here that used to do lavish decorations don’t do that any more. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. Oh precious thoughts from you to everyone. I so enjoy knowing you left handed friend of mine. I never forgot the lefty’s . I sent a postcard and I had sent an email. Oh fiddlesticks! I do apologize. I will go back and check but you had asked if you could send a kitty postcard. YES! I love all the different things people share. I will go back and resend my email to you and I hope that postcard arrives soon. The post office is slow this time of year or any time really.

  4. That’s a perfect poem – who cares about light bills – obviously not the people who decorated this house! Every little bit of cheer is welcome especially this year. Not familiar with the “Light Fight” – is that on regular TV or cable? I bet it’s hilarious. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU from ALL OF US!

    Love, Teddy

  5. I like your poem! I will have to google The Great Christmas Light Fight, I haven’t heard of it. I am thankful for your blog. I so enjoy it… you know I love to see what the Meowing Crew is up to! Check your email! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! You can’t fool Joanie!

  8. Ellen, I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving. All the lights are pretty, but it must take them ages to decorate. I like that show too. Looking forward to watching.

I love watching the Great Christmas LIght Fight! I was wondering if it would be on this year …maybe they recorded it last year ? I must remember to watch!!
My new husband LOVES to decorate for Christmas and we have lights on the house this year! I have not had lights on my house ever as an adult. He didn’t go overboard or anything … but it looks very nice and very festive!

    Have a happy Thanksgiving!
    Save me some pie!!

    1. I get the idea that you like pumpkin. 🙂 That is great that Cory is into decorating. Happy Thanksgiving! XO

  10. Meowser Ms. Ellen, I do not live in fear because of covid, which is a hoax perpetrated by the media and certain individuals like Fauci, who make a ton of money from big pharma when they spread lies/panic. In point of fact, you are apparently living in fear because of the media’s lies.
Purrseidon, who suggests you do some research, but do NOT USE Google, which spreads as many lies as the media.

  11. That was such a cute poem and we really enjoy visiting your blog each day. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us and thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
