Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

I am thankful to be using my niece’s wifi because my power has been out sine Tuesday 5 PM and the estimated time for it to be back is Friday at 10 PM. Needless to say, I am not happy with the electric company. Apparently they don’t consider it an emergency that Rosie can’t watch her red string on tv.

Words can’t express how thankful we are to our neighbor who loaned us the generator he has for his painting business. We were able to save everything in the fridge and freezer as well as run a window a/c to cool off the bedroom. Unfortunately when one lives in the country, you lose water and can’t flush- the poopourri a friend gave us for Christmas is coming in very handy.

I am also thankful to those who noticed I haven’t posted and checked in- it is nice to know you care. Thank you.

I hope to be able to post my fill-ins and art on Saturday. I will catch up on everyone’s posts soon.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two. Please be sure to add your link, you can find the linky at Four-Legged Furballs tomorrow.

  1. I’m sorry you’re without power. Generators are wonderful aren’t they. I hope you get your power back before Friday.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Great questions.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Ellen. Big hug to you and scritches to the kitties. ♥

  2. I pray your power will be restored as soon as possible and Rosie will be able to go back to watching her red string! You are so blessed to have your babies who are so entertaining! Sweet Blessings of love, wellness and joy, Deborah 🙂 <3

  3. Oh no, we’re very sorry, but we’re glad you have a bit of power from your neighbor. Take care!

  4. I’m sorry you lost your power, Ellen, I sure hope you get it back soon. I did wonder last night when I didn’t see you post. It’s wonderful how neighbors, friends, and even strangers so often come through for others during weather emergencies. XO

  5. I’m sorry about the power. But hurray for wonderful neighbors and family. We have a generator but it’s never been hooked up. ~shakes head~ I should really get onto my husband about that. Heh… So glad you’re doing okay, my dear. Take care.

  6. I’m glad you are all okay, it sure isn’t anything fun at all to be without power. Y’all hang in there. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  7. Yikes! Were you affected that way from the storm??
I have been so busy with chores and taking Benji back to the vet…and other junk, well, I did not even check, cause I have to read/comment on your blog on a different browser than my usual…so its hiding unless I bring ut up.

Its good to know you are safe, that’s the main thing.

Glad you got to have a generator for the basic needs.
We live in the country too, and know about the water thing…so that is one reason we got a whole house generator. Comes in handy at times:)

    Rosie, you poor derived kitty…MOL!!!

    1. Thank you. We have a whole house generator and after 20 years it needs a lot of work. I hope Benji is OK. XO

  8. We are so glad you are all ok. Good neighbors are the best! So glad things will be fixed soon but a pox on the electric company. We have a rather large holding tank so if the electric goes out we still have well water for quite a bit. No showers but coffee and potty

  9. That is wonderful that your neighbor had a spare generator he could lend you. I am truly grateful for that right along with you. I am so sorry it has been off so long. Rosie darling, you and the rest tunnel on thru. I have power…we’ll all watch together. XXXXX

  10. guyz….we iz sorree ta lurn ya hafta go with out powerz N we iz buzzed happee ya haza naybor whooz kind enuff to lend a hand….we haz all 984 pawz crossed that yur power ternz bak on yet two day sted oh two morrow….:) ♥♥♥

  11. I remember pouring buckets of water down the toilet, to make it ‘flush’ back in the day.
Hope your power is restored pronto!
When we lost power for over 5 days in March a few years ago, the cold was very uncomfortable…plus, there was no TV or internet, so OH MY GOSH…we had to talk to each other…LOL!

    1. We had to use pond water to flush. At least it isn’t winter and it is back now 🙂

  12. Hopefully you will have your own power back soon! It’s good to hear there are nice people that are willing to help, though!
    Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday!

  13. Awww….I thought you were just taking a break from the daily blogging stuff……Sorry you lost your power though and THANK HEAVENS you were able to borrow a generator! Losing power is REALLY AWFUL any time of the year but at least you have nice neighbors who helped. Hope the Friday timeline is on target and you don’t have to wait any longer for your power.

    Love, Pam and Teddy too

  14. Wow out of Power and probably won’t get it back to sometime Friday. A generator and a great neighbor are things to be thankful for.

  15. We are so sorry you have to endure that power loss. We hope the power is restored sooner than you expect. It is nice to have good neighbors at times like these.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  16. I am glad you have such a good neighbour and were able to save your frozen and chilled food. I hope you soon have your power back.

  17. When a hurricane/tropical storm goes by and you live through it an all that happens is the electric is out, you and i both know that is a huge thing for which to be thankful. Hope they get it fixed ahead of schedule!

  18. The longest we were ever without power was four days one winter many, many years ago. We sure hope they get your power back sooner than estimated. We particularly feel bad for Rosie. What a nice neighbor you have to help you out. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer.

    1. Thank you. Back in 2011, we were out for a full week, but we had a working generator. XO

  19. We’re so sorry you are without power! Thank goodness your neighbor has a generator! We’ve been without power in the winter sometimes for a week! Mom made sure we had a generator because our people sister has a machine that helps her breathe at night and mom worries about her breathing when the power is gone! We’re so sorry Rosie doesn’t get to watch her string on tv! 🙁

  20. I am also sorry you are without power. I know what it is like to have no power in the country. If you have a well you have no flushing or water out of the tap. You have a wonderfully considerate neighbor. Glad you have a room to stay cool in. Hope you get your power back before predicted!

  21. Of course I’m behind as usual and just noticed I didn’t have a bunch of emails for your posts! Luckily I didn’t have to worry for long about you. So sorry about your power. We lost ours about the same time but it came back on at 3:30 am. We are lucky to have a generator too. There are many people that live even close to us that still don’t have their power either. Hope yours comes back today!!

  22. That was very nice of your neighbours, Ellen and furry furriends. Sorry we didn’t know about the problem earlier, I could had sent you a Powerful Pawkiss😸Well…we hope everything is coming back to you soon🙏🐾😽💞

  23. OMC! I thought we were bad since we lost power and the next day had no water. Please stay safe and try to stay cool. Maybe now your hubby will buy another generator.

    1. Thank you. Yes, he said it was a wake up call for him about how we need a generator. XO

  24. We are thankful that you are still here! Always good to have a friend with a generator! We hope everything gets back to normal ASAP XOXOXO Purrs to you all
