St. Patrick’s Day!

Hi everyone. Happy St. Patrick’s Day !

We are joining The Cat on my Head’s Sunday Selfie Blog Hop.

I am joining another started last week at CactusCatz called Sabi Saturday. I am a day late this week, but better late than never. In the hop, we will show something we have found and rescued or repurposed, etc. You can read about it in full by clicking here.

I rescued this ironing board from a dumpster back in 2007. My mom and I were picking up my niece at college after her freshman year. A lot of kids were tossing good things in the dumpster and I spotted this. Much to my niece’s embarrassment I shamelessly grabbed it. Then she spotted a poster she wanted and asked me to get that for her- so I went dumpster diving again. It is very handy and much easier to use than dragging out the full-sized one.

  1. Joanie looks adorable dressed up for St. Paddy’s!

I used to have an ironing board just like that. Yes, it was so much easier to get out and put away than the full-size one.

  2. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to everyone! I think repurposing or rescuing cast offs is a perfectly good thing to do…..that ironing board was just something someone didn’t want anymore which doesn’t mean it’s not USEFUL so why not give it a “second life”??!!

    Hugs, Teddy

  3. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, y’all. Most of what mom and dad own is either found, garage sale treasures or left-behinds. Dad’s worked at apartment complexes for years and you’d be amazed at some of the things people toss out. You know the saying about one man’s trash being another’s treasure- very true.

    1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Your folks should join the Sabi Saturday hop and show us some of their finds 🙂

  4. Such a cute outfit! I have a mini ironing board like that, thank goodness I don’t have to use it anymore – MOL! Happy St. Patrick’s Day – may the luck of the Irish be with you all!

  5. We call it skip dipping over here, but amounts to the same thing and can reap some really fab rewards. Those mini boards are really handy too, not that i use it, MOL

  6. One persons garbage is another persons treasure. I’d have grabbed it too.

Have a purrfect St. Patrick’s Day, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  7. I’m appalled at that wasteful attitude! Good on you. And what a cute bonnet. The expression is icing on the cake, as if Joanie knows how adorable she is. Be well!

  8. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I used to have a mini ironing board like that too. Now I just try not to iron at all. LOL

  9. Charlee: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!”
Chaplin: “It was shamefully neglected here.”
Charlee: “Yes, neither Mama nor Dada wore green, and they’re both part Irish, too.”
Chaplin: “The leprechauns would never approve.”

  10. Looking very festive!! Happy St. Patricks’s Day!!!

  11. We love you hat – so cute on you.

Mom used to have a small ironing board like that too, but it is long gone. She agrees it was very handy.

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

    Woos – O’Lightning, O’Misty, and O’Timber

  12. Hope you had a great St. Patrick’s Day, and my family also shamelessly rescues things from the trash when they see really good stuff.

  13. It’s amazing what college students leave behind. The university in our town actually has an auction after session ends of things that are left in the dorm rooms! And, I’d love to know just how you got that hat to stay on her head!! xoxo

  14. Joanie, you are so cute! I hope you all had a purrfect St. Patrick’s Day! And I see nothing wrong with dumpster diving when a perfectly good item is thrown out. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.
