Sammy’s Trip Outside

Happy Tuesday everyone! Thank you to everyone who commented Sunday and Monday for the Dr. Seuss giveaway. And the winner is……………I will tell you at the end of this post.

Tuesdays are Medical Day and right now knock on wood ( 3 times) , I have nothing to report this week. I did take Sammy outside so he could earn his Winter badge for Cat Scouts. 003He was not thrilled. One time I tried to take Polar Bear outside with a collar and a leash. He got really scared and somehow I dropped the leash and couldn’t find him. I drove all over the neighborhood in a big panic, being that he is deaf it was pointless to call out his name. Luckily, he was hiding in one of the window wells. I didn’t want this to happen again so I went to Petco and got a harness ( $5 on clearance). I also had hubby come out with me and hold the leash so there would be no problem. I don’t think I had to worry though, Sammy couldn’t get back in that house soon enough.

And the winner of the Cat in the Hat mat and hat is: Trout Talkin Tabbies : http://da-tabbies-o-trout-towne.blogspot.com/  I had made 2 mats so I decided to draw another name for that and the winner is : https://dezizworld.wordpress.com/ . Sorry, no hat with that one, but I am sure you won’t mind 🙂 Congratulations!

We have a guest poster tomorrow so please stop by.

Almost forgot to ad a photo for Tummy Rub Tuesday: 002

  1. I’m so glad that you were able to find Sammy! He definitely earned his badge. He looks really cute in his harness too. What a great deal for $5! I’m going to have to look into that.

  2. As you know, I’ve never really mastered the art of wearin’ the harness and the peeps have not mastered the art of gettin’ me to master it. Sammy, you were lookin’ super good in yours, though. EXCELLENT.

    Nissy

PS. CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the draw! purrs

    1. You will be happy to know that Sammy did scratch ,e the 1st day I tried the harness. This was day 2 🙂

  3. So glad you found Polar Bear without much trouble, but I bet you were crazy worried! Chucky disappeared on us once for about nine hours, while I was off on a shopping day with a friend and the hubby was home alone. When I got home, I immediately started walking the neighborhood…until I was exhausted. I sat at the computer to research, and discovered a lot of good info! Since Chuck is an inside cat, he probably was only a lot or two away from home, but too scared to respond to our voices. Once it was dark, I slowly walked up and down in front of the house, shaking a treat bag. That’s when Chucky came running up, and a group hug ensued. It’s good you have little medical issue to report, and congrats to the winners!

    1. I read that after the fact too that cats don’t go far like dogs do. Glad your story ended well too 🙂

    1. I am glad you don’t want to go out, you are much better off inside. I bet you would look cute in a harness though. Phoebe sends paw kisses back to you her sweet purrince.

  7. Those are two great winners! Concats to them. TW used to try to take Faith outside with a leash and harness but she was too scared.

  8. Sammy, you were pretty brave to go outside in the cold…but it was worth getting your badge. 🙂

Congrats to the Trout Towne Tabbies and Dezi.

  9. We don’t think we’d want to be out in that cold stuff either! Glad you got back inside where it’s warm! Concats to the Trout Talkin’ Tabbies!

  10. Poor Sammy having to get cold paws.
Some kitties (like me) are not all that fond of the outdoors. Mom tried to take me out last week but I got scared and ran back in the house…harness pulling & leash trailing behind me. Open windows are good enough for me.

    1. My kitties are all happy to have an open window instead of going out too.

  11. I love that Sammy wears the leash. I tried (not too hard) to leash up lucy when she was a kitten and she didn’t like it, so I gave up. I regret not pushing it now because I’d love to take her outside but I don’t trust her on her own….

  12. OMC Furst fings furst…Concats sweet Tabbies, and Fank you Miss Ellen, weez so happy. Weez been wantin’ one of those mats, but mommy just can’t seem to get nuff time and munny to make us one. WooHoo (duin’ da happy kitty dance) And second, Sammy looks kinds like me did when me wuz out in da snow, Fweaked out!!!! MOL But dat must be a new badge, me will hav to go and check dat out. Cuz even tho’ me dusn’t like bein’ out in da cold winter, me duz go wiff mommy lots, so me kuld get thsis badge too. Hav a pawsum day.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Lexi

    1. The Tabbies also said to give you their prize so you could each have a mat- aren’t they sweet? Yes, you can get that badge, just need a photo of all 4 paws in the snow.

  13. Concatulations to the winners of your pawsome Dr. Seuss giveaway! I’ve been going out just a bit in the snow too – I used to love being in the snow but not so much now that I’m older. Still, no matter what the weather is I can’t resist poking my nose out the door for a sniff of fresh air once in a while!

    Hugs, Sammy

  14. Haha! Tummy Rub Tuesday, adorable! 🙂 Yeah, we picked up the smallest dog harness at Walmart and it works on Reggie. Dr. Puss has gotten very plump these days so it may work for her too, lol. Jeff used to walk her when he lived in downtown Palmer and they’d go down the street with her on his shoulder (with harness and leash).
