#RememberMeThursday

Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  It is also #RememberMeThursday , a day to shine the light on pets in need of homes.

I am thankful for all my rescued kitties past and present. Most showed up on their own, some were adopted after their owner passed and a few came from shelters.

My Angel Joanie was adopted from a shelter with her brother, my Angel Sammy.

I wish they could all have forever homes.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1. I am glad I live near __________________________.
2. I am glad I don’t live near _______________________________.
3. I didn’t _________ until I was _________.
4. _________ made me truly laugh.

  1. It’s so good of you to take in kitties that need homes, Ellen! I sure wish all kitties in need had someone kind like you! All lovely kitty pictures! XO

    1. Thank you. I wish all kitties could have forever homes. I know you and your husband have done more than your share to help. XO

  2. You have given so many kitties a new life through the years – the Queen of Rescues! You are a wonder and we mean that from our heart to yours!

    Love, Pam and Teddy

  3. Ellen, my thankfuls for today are all the kitties that you have rescued and given them a home forever! And I am thankful you have shared them with us♥
It’s nice to have Angel Joanie and Angel Sammy to represent the spirit of this post.
All our kitties were rescues in one way or another.

  4. Charlee: “We are all rescues here, one way or another!”
Chaplin: “Yep, Charlee and I were in a big crate at the shelter when Mama stopped by and spotted me. She sent pictures of us to Dada because she wanted me and Dada was like ‘Okay, but I want the one with the mustache too.'”
Charlee: “Good call, Dada! Bean was probably the most forgotten one when we got adopted.”
Java Bean: “Sí, after I was brought here from Baja with the rest of my pack, they all got adopted but nobody picked me until Mama spotted me, because I reminded her of Tucker. So gracias, Tucker, for looking like me, even though we never met!”
Lulu: “I reminded her of Trixie, who we also never met, but I wasn’t even in the shelter for one day; Mama was there volunteering when I was brought in and she immediately sent a picture of me to Dada, since Trixie was his special girl.”
Oona: “Oona bypassed the shelter and got more or less delivered directly to Mama and Dada by Dada’s cousin. LIKE A NINJA.”

  5. 1. I’m glad I live near (actually in) deep woods in back of my house to the city edge. All over town are woods. Lucky us.
    2. I’m glad I don’t live in a huge City, or around loud industrial areas.
    3. I didn’t lose my natural reticence until I sort of jumped into the boiling pot all at once and went to work in an exacting position and had no choice. Best thing that ever happened to me. That’s how I found out I have a sense of humor.
    4. A comment about Katie’s pristine white “toe pumps” the other day made me truly laugh!

  6. They could all have homes, but more people would have to choose to be responsible for their actions and choices. We can keep working toward it.

  7. I was sorry to see the shelter cat still residing at the pet store today. The owner said he’d been returned after fighting with that family’s other cat; I can’t help wondering if a slow introduction would have prevented this. ~sigh~ And meanwhile, another person has applied, so I’m crossing my fingers. Be well, my dear!
