Nosey Rosie’s Gabfest

Hi everyone.

It has been sad around here without Penny. Mom says it is the end of an era. She was the last of the original 15 cats from when she started the blog 12 years ago.

Mom is going to put a Kindle book together on Amazon with Penny’s 25 best tips. As soon as she does, I will let you know so you can grab yours for free.

The kids haven’t been here. Too busy with school, dance, play rehearsal, First Communion rehearsal, etc. Typhoid Mary received her First Communion last Saturday. Dad stayed home with us so mom wouldn’t have to worry. She is afraid if someone ever broke in then we would get out and get run over- she is a bit nuts. I think she just didn’t want to iron some church clothes for Dad.

Before Penny left she told me to remind you all that this Saturday Lowes is giving away a garden basket to hold your garden tools starting at 10 am to the first 150 customers.

Sorry, this is all I have this week.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

  1. Rosie, we love your pictures! We know your folks must be sad without Penny. It makes us sad, too. A book of Penny’s tips will be nice. XO

  2. Somehow I didn’t get yesterday’s post…even after refreshing the site a few times. Anyways, good to see you, Rosie, and your chatter. I am glad you are able to pick up the reins with gossip and maybe tips as well.
I never get up early enough to get to Lowes, for event s like that..and it also takes about 30 minute to get there from here, since it is clear across town on the south side, and we live outside of town on the north…
Hugs to your mom and dad as they still feel sadness. 🥰

    1. Sorry you didn’t get yesterday’s post. The giveaway isn’t until 10 am. at least it isn’t when the store opens. XO

  3. Thanks for the update Rosie…..we know your Mom and Dad were very sad to say farewell to Penny – I’m sure all of you were – but she IS still with you as an Angel. A book with her BEST tips is a great idea – your Mama is a GREAT writer. Sending all of you hugs…….

    Love, Teddy and Mom Pam

  4. Rosie I was quite delighted to see you. You have a lot of news here today. First communion, I can remember that as if it was yesterday and let me tell you we’re talking decades ago, lol.

  5. I remember my first communion. I got presents, mostly jewelry like a necklace with a cross and maybe a rosary.

  6. Thank you for the news, Rosie. We all miss Angel Penny, and what a great idea to put together a book with Penny’s tips.

  7. Thank you for the news Rosie. And your Mom got a great snap of you today! XXX
I will always miss Penny. She was a special girl. You know mom here…she is a Tortie lover. 🙂 And she & I always enjoyed the tips.

  8. Rosie, we too are sad about Angel Penny, however the looks on your face bring me a smile!
“…didn’t want to iron some church clothes for Dad”…hahaha!

  13. We understand completely, but it’s a little sad around there, but you kitties will take care of that. We are sure and a book of garden tips sounds wonderful. What a brilliant idea and mama absolutely loved My Friend Joanie! Wonderful drawings also, please tell the illustrator. We think your gabfest was just fine. Don’t be sorry.

  14. It was so sweet of Penny to give us one last reminder tip. It’s very sad she’s gone and we will all miss her.

Rosie, I think you always have plenty of news and you do a great job reporting it.

  15. I am not able to comment I don’t think but I am going to try again. I understand your sads. It’s a tough journey. I just think about how hard your Mom worked, actually loved, to make Penny be okay and maybe the okay part was to let her go. Your Mom is a wise MOM. I am going to buy a Kindle to get Penny’s library of tips. I understand your Mom’s fear of someone doing something bad and letting one or more of the Meowing Crew out. You do not have to be sorry, Penny… there is a lot here to feel and work out.

    1. My mom thanks you for your kind words. Penny’s book will be offered free for her fans. XO

  16. That’s a wonderful idea about the book! I was able to get one of the free flowers at Lowes last weekend…a beautiful pink petunia!

    1. Thank you. Glad you got your free flower. My hubby went and got a white one. XO

  17. Chaplin: “What is this ‘ironing clothes for Dad’ of which you speak? We are unfamiliar with that here …”
Charlee: “We understand your mom worrying about you getting out! I’m not sure what would happen here if some stranger left the door open. Chaplin might wander out, and Oona would definitely wander out—”
    Oona: “LIKE A NINJA!”
Charlee: “—but I would be hiding under the sofa so I would stay in.”
Chaplin: “We know how your mom feels about Penny. It’s like when Dennis left for the Rainbow Bridge in 2018 and none of our original crew was left. End of an era indeed.”

  18. Wow, Rosie, that really is a big deal that Penny was the last of your original 15. Mom says that Lisbeth is the last of our original group. Calista Jo came shortly after we started the blog. When Lily Olivia left, that made our Mom really sad, as she was the bridge between all the oldest and newest cats. Our mom laughed at your mom not wanting to iron your dad’s church clothes. Our mom hates to iron and rarely does. If our dad needs something ironed, he has to do it himself. Mom has that same worry, that if anyone ever broke in, we would all escape. She read on Katie Isabella’s blog that your house was built in 1947 and so maybe you should get a new front door too. Our house was built in 1912 … same front door as always, except the glass had been broken sometime before Mom and Dad bought the house in 1984. The glass had been replaced with plywood and stained. When our humans could afford it, they replaced the glass. Bet your 1947 door is better than anything you could buy now. Wow, we certainly have gone on-and-on. Sorry! XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

    1. It makes her loss especially sad because she was the last of that group. I agree that older things were made to last and a better quality. I will keep the original. XO
