Nosey Rosie’s Gabfest

Hi everyone!

We had some excitement here last night. Mom was heading down the cellar steps and she let out a loud screech. She saw a mouse run across the cellar floor. She has an irrational fear of them. All 12 of us kitties would be more than happy to help catch it, but she would not let us. Instead, she had Dad set up mouse traps. We never get to have any fun.

Mom got our Thanksgiving turkey. It was on sale for 49 cents a pound, so she got a 22 pounder. Let’s see, 3 humans and 12 cats, 22 divided by 15 means we all get at least a pound of turkey. I wish.

Brody has his appointment Thursday to check his potassium and then the vet will decide if she can do his dental. Of course, they are probably booked through the end of the year for dentals.

No kids around lately so I am living the life. Time for another nap. See you next week.

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

  1. Rosie, you look so beautiful in your pictures! It would be nice if you could each get a pound of turkey, for sure! We’re sending purrs for all to go well at Brody’s vet visit! XO

  2. I see the Christmas things have started to come out at your place! Let’s hope Brody’s labwork comes back with good results.
Your Mom would have multiple conniptions if she came to our house…we have mice in our cellar all the time…mostly when fall starts to get cold and wet. Years ago, Minko,Pipo and MJF had a mouse in a pile of toys…but no one spoke up as to who had put it there…now that was yucky!
I have at least 9 traps set in our cellar, so I have to inspect them regularly, or sometimes if none have been caught, I have to renew the bait, which can get covered in dust…

Glad you’re having a quiet week Rosie, just the way you like it!

    1. Mom would be a nervous wreck. Dad had sealed everything and no mice for about 10 years. Use peanut butter in the traps- works every time. XO

  3. That was disappointing for all you kitties! I have no fear of mice, but rats I dislike intensely! That is a big turkey so you all will have a good feast. I hope Brody’s vet visit goes well and his dental can be booked.

  4. Oh, no! Mousies in the cellar. I’m sure you kitties could catch the mouse in a flash, but mom knows best. The turkey sounds like a good deal, and I hope she shares some with the brood. Have a nice nap, Rosie.

  5. Field mice are frequent visitors here. I just catch them (yes with my hands) and escort them out the door to the back wooded area. That’s IF I catch them. If one of the cats gets them, it’s curtains for the little one. That is one big turkey!

  6. Rosie, at first I was sure that your Meowmy had fallen down the stairs!
Purrsonally, I like mice, but not when they are running ’round my house.
And y’all don’t need to be catching those wee things.

  8. Yikes on the mouse. You cats could take care of that mouse in no time. Our Squeaker makes sure we don’t have any flies. We’re happy about that.

I’m glad you had a quiet, no kids time to enjoy yourself.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to mom. ♥

  9. I’m not fond of mice in the house, either. Remind her if she saw one, there are more as there is no such thing as a little mousie priest taking a vow of celibacy. They always bring the family.

I do hope you at least get a nibble of turkey, if it’s on your diet and the vet says it’s okay.

  11. Rosie, you like like you are getting into the Christmas spirit! I am glad you are living the life without the kids but you are always living the life. A nap sounds like a good idea. Living is good at the Meowing Crew’s home.
I would screech too if I saw a mouse in the house! An anole no but a mouse yes 🙂 Sounds like a nice sized turkey… no turkey at our house SSNS is not a fan of turkey.
Hoping Brody’s vet visit goes well and he can get his dental soon.

  12. You look very content with no kids around! We constantly have a mouse problem in the basement. I live trap them (and they likely turn around and come right back in, but I can’t kill them). I think they’re adorable. I just wish I could figure out where they’re coming in.

  13. Quiet times interrupted by a screech prompted by a mouse sighting. Sounds like a typical Tuesday. 😉

  14. Charlee: “While the kids are away, the cats will play! And by ‘play’ I mean lounge on the fleecy blanket.”
Chaplin: “Our Dada doesn’t like turkey so he never makes one for Thanksgiving. Rumor has it that when he was a kid and they would do Thanksgiving at Nana and Papa’s house, there would be turkey for everyone else and noodles for him.”
Lulu: “Sounds like Nana kind of indulged him.”
Chaplin: “Well that’s what Nanas are for.”
