Hi everyone!I know it is Memorial Day, but we are still hopping.We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww…Mondays, and Mewsic Moves Me (hosted by Curious as a Cathy, Xmas Dolly, JAmerican Spice and Stacy Uncorked.) We are also still doing a Spark.

My spark is a quote by Gandhi- ‘ Speak only if it improves upon the silence.’  I m not sure if it is just me, but it sure seems like there is too much talking everywhere and so much of it is just babble. It drives me crazy to see drivers on their cell phones, people walking and texting. Pardon my rant.

This week is our choice for the Mewsic Hop so I chose a song that goes with my spark.

  16. Oh yes, way too much talking going on. Mom is an introvert and highly values her golden silence, which is why at home, it’s quiet more often than not. Joanie, you are looking so patriotic in that hat, and such a good sport to indulge the Great One. Has Trouble met her yet?

  24. At 0:25, the yellow car with the tail fins is a ’59 Chevy Biscayne. We had one until Dad traded it in for a ’66 Ford Galaxie, which he didn’t get much of a chance to drive before he died. Then it was Mom’s car, and she didn’t know how to drive…

    I like the Gandhi quote. I’m so with you on people being on their phones at every turn, even while driving which is totally not safe. The bottom line is talking on the telephone distracts the driver even when he/she doesn’t think it is.

    Thanks for sharing Neo Tree with me. I’ve heard of the group before no doubt someone on 4M introduced them to me but I can’t say that I know this tune “Everybody Talks”. It’s high energy and got me boogieing in my chair this morning which I really need. I’m just dragging, dragging, dragging!

  34. Watching everyone with their phones is quite amazing…while walking in a park…in a store…everywhere. In your home while visiting. What could possibly be THAT important? Carry it if you must, but does it have to be inches from your face 29 hours a day? By your face at night while you are supposed to asleep? On the dining table home and restaurants? In the doctor’s office? Is it THAT vital?

  39. Noise everywhere. I like peace and quiet. Too much technology and I am especially saddened when I see young children allowed to walk around with an ipad in their hands. U G H !

I am so right there with you on the driving while talking on the cell phone (or god forbid, texting while driving) and those walking and texting – because they are not paying attention to where they’re going! And block aisles at the store, or run into you without so much as a ‘sorry’ or ‘excuse me’.

  41. You are right…we need to listen way more…but we just seem to fill in the blank silence that promotes thinking into babble and chatter and gossip. It drives me nuts to see peeps eating together but no one is having a real conversation, they are all on the phones. UGH. I tell my menfolk to put those away when we are all together for dinner…they mostly comply:)

They are sorta worked on & then let loose an Hosuin says they are Man-Dated to take who efurr iss on thee list. It iss the Province (like a State) that has dun all this. So thee poor crazypantss unwell peepull try to live an they go off meddysinss an cause trubbull.
    An Housin just says if wee not like it here wee can move an they will just put sumone else inn our apartmint. The situashun iss a vishuss cycull…like a Hamster on a treadmill…. **sighsss**
