It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday What are YOU Reading?

Rosie is posing with the book I am currently reading. May Cause Miracles: A 40 Day Guidebook of Subtle Shifts for Radical Change and Unlimited Happiness by Gabrielle Bernstein is divided into six weeks of simple changes and meditations to help improve one’s life. I just started it so today I did week 1, exercise 1 which required looking at my thoughts to see which ones are from a place of fear. The miracles she is referring to in the title are the changes we make toward love over fear.  I thought the new year would be a great time to do this.

Rosie hopes she is awww..worthy.  Penny will be here tomorrow.

  1. Rosie is certainly awww worthy! Interesting about figuring out what thoughts come from fear. I have been reading how anger comes from fear in my Calm app. It might be a no brainer for some but that was a big revelation for me. Anger comes from fear. I felt like it came from frustration. Good luck with the book and meditations. I will have to check it out.

  2. This is a huge Awww and most of the world would benefit reading this. You go girl.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

  3. Our minds focus needs an adjusting when we see those negative things creeping in. This world today makes that job something we must constantly attend. Purrs on keeping on track and Purrs to you all

  4. Charlee: “Well right at the moment we are reading your blog.”
Chaplin: “Dada is reading something called ‘Deathless’ which I gather is some sort of updated take on an old Russian folktale.”
    Charlee: “Is Dada Russian?”
Chaplin: “Well he likes Russian dressing so I’m going to say … yes?”
Lulu: “You guys are silly. Dada is mostly Italian.”
Chaplin: “Pfft. I never see him putting Italian dressing on anything, and he hates cannoli.”

  5. Rosie is awww-worthy! What a clever thing to do, analyze to see which thoughts are from love and which from fear … I think I need to get a copy!

  6. That looks like it might be useful. I am reading “Super Immunity” by Dr. Joel Fuhrman which seems like a good subject with this Covid thing going on. It was written before Covid but he does talk about protecting yourself from the flue and other illnesses.

      1. I have read so many books on health that most is old news to me but it motivates me to eat better anyway. For an average American though, I think this is one of many books that would be a great eye-opener to how harmful the typical American diet is. My favorite is “Never be Sick Again” but that is over a decade old now.

  7. Rosie is always awww worthy!!! That sounds like a very interesting book, probably something that you have to do in small doses. Mom isn’t reading anything right now, but she and Dad got an interesting Christmas gift from one of our human sister – MasterClass. It is a plan where you can watch videos from “masters” of the topic in all sorts of areas. Of course, Mom went right to the one for dog training:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  8. I’ve been reading Biocentrism by Robert Lanza. After a long day of legal reading/writing, I turn to quantum physics.

      1. Yes, it is, but I enjoy it. On the more fun side, I’m listening to an audiobook as I do chores, and it is more escapist fantasy. So it’s not like it is all hard! As for your book, it sounds a lot like materials I have read in the past. I hope you enjoy it!

  9. Ellen,

    Yes Rosie is awww worthy! 🙂 I hope the exercises help to put you in touch of the areas you need. I find reflections a great way to see where I am and where I want to be. Ultimately, regardless of the circumstances one has to make the decision to bury old pain or insecurities or simply just pull oneself out of the dump. Perhaps those whose with hormone or chemical imbalance that triggers bluesy feelings have to work at it harder but we owe it to ourselves to be the best we can and that means allowing happiness to rule our lives. I pray for anyone who struggles with these problems can find the strength and determination to keep that dark veil pulled back. May 2021 be kinder, safer, and happier for everyone! {{hugs}}

  10. That sounds like an awesome book to begin the new year. I’m reading something less intellectual….John Grisham’s new book, A Time for Mercy. It doesn’t make my brain hurt! 😜
