It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading?

We are joining McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks (even though she is on hiatus), Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays and Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are YOU Reading? I am skipping the Mewsic hop again this week. My post gets too long when I do the reading and mewsic hops together so when I have good books to tell you about I will skip the mewsic.

I have never seen the television show This is Us, but I enjoyed This Is Me: Loving the Person You Are Today by Chrissy Metz. As many of you know, she is one of the stars of the show. She did not have the best childhood, but she certainly has gotten past that. I am amazed at what a kind person she is despite her past. I could relate to her weight struggles too.

I usually don’t read fiction, but I was pulled in by the cover of Talk to the Paw by Melinda Metz. I was pleasantly surprised, it is a fun romance. And the cat is the main character, he works hard to bring people together even if it requires some cat burglary on his part.

My Spark for today is to tell you about a blog that started this year, The Gateway to Enlightenment, always has positive quotes and stuff to brighten your day.

Here is my awww…Mondays photo. Pardon the clutter, how many of my black cats do you see in this photo?

  1. Golly I THINK I see three black kitties but black kitties have a way of hiding in the shadows!! Sounds like some good reading especially “Talk To The Paw” – we like stories with cats as main characters……HAPPY MONDAY!

    Hugs, Teddy

  2. Talk to the Paw sounds like a good book to put on my list. I am not getting any books read because I am reading blogs in the morning and the rest of the day always seems to be chaotic. I will definitely check out the blog link for your Sparks.
I see a trifecta of black cats!

    1. Thank you. Yes, 3 black cats. I have 4, but Jinx tries to kill any other cat he gets near so he is segregated. XO

  3. I apologize for not being good with names. Who is the beautiful black cat at the center of the picture?

  4. I think I see three. Beautiful. And your clutter is nowhere near bad as mine. ~nods~ Happy Birthday! You sound like a childhood friend of mine who also celebrates her B-day the entire month of July. Thanks for the kind words on my blog. Be well!

    1. Thank you 🙂 Yes, 3 and thanks for making me feel batter about the clutter. Everyone should celebrate their birthday all month long 🙂

  5. “Talk to the Paw” sounds like such a fun read! I have also never watched This Is Us, but my sister watches it and has told me about it, and has also told me a bit of what she’s learned about Chrissy Metz. I imagine her book is incredibly inspiring.

And I’m seeing 3 beautiful black cats in the photo. I hope I’m not missing any. Living with Toby and Winky, I know what it’s like to search and search for a black cat sitting right in front of you. Purrs, and happy Monday!

  6. We see three black kitties! We are reading a new biography about Robin Williams called Robin. It is very interesting so far.

    1. Yes, 3. I had not heard of that Biography, I need to add it to my list.

  7. I’ve never seen This Is Us. The memoir does sound interesting though. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  8. I’m thinking there are four cats, but I could be wrong 🙂

I listened to Chrissy Metz book on audio and loved it. It was really nice hearing it in her own voice. I do love the show This Is Us. I have to look for the Talk to the Paw book. Sounds good.

    Have a great week!

    1. It was 3, but I do have 4 black cats. I hope you have a great week too! 🙂

  9. I’ve never seen the show, either, but the book sounds inspiring. And Talk to the Paw sounds like a fun read!
I think I see three black kitties in the photo.

  10. We see three black kitties for sure, but we think there is one behind that table peeking out a bit.

Chrissy Metz’s book sounds like a good read to Mom, and she says if you have the chance to catch up on This Is Us, it is a show well worth watching.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

    1. It is 3 🙂 I am going to binge watch This is Us- I ordered season 1 from the library.

  11. Well awnty Ellen, since we rely on mommy to do the typin’ and countin’ and her eyes are so bad, all we can say is we see a blob. The foto’s way to small fur mommy to make out much of anythin’. So, no worries ’bout the clutter with us. MOL Big hugs

Am going to try to talk The Hubby into adopting a couple black kittens; what a purrfect match for Da Boyz! He’ll say no, at least for awhile, but I’ll wear him down…

    1. Just get them- it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission 🙂

  14. I see 3 of your black pussycats in that photo, Miss Ellen. Am I right? I am right aren’t I? Sometimes in the evenings when the room gets a little darker, I can be on a chair and mom can walk passed me and not even see me. Tee hee hee.

  15. Do both authors have the last name Metz or was that a typo? Both books sound good. Three black cats in the photo. Thanks for the tip about the other website. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    1. You are observant, I did not even notice that. Yes, same last name, but I don’t think they are related. XO
