Happy New Year!

Hi everyone. We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

I am thankful for all of you who take the time to visit. Most of my friends and relatives don’t even bother to read my blog so please know how grateful I am to all who care enough to visit.

I am also thankful for traditions like our annual holiday gathering, making horseradish, my hubby dressing as Santa for the cats and for the new one I started this year- having the kids decorate the tree.

I skipped the poem again.

Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.

1.  ____________________________ is a New Year’s tradition for me.
2. ______________________ is not the same as ____________________________.
3. I would pick _________ as my theme song for 2026.

4. I’m a coward when it comes to _________ but brave when _________.

  2. The world is surely better with all the wonderful folk we see on the CatBlogosphere. And we are grateful for each and every one for the joy the spread. And today, especially thankful to Terry Frum for running selflessly the Cat Blogosphere site.

  3. I know what you mean about family and friend from the regular world not paying attentipon to our blogs. Though I think my sister reads ours once in a while..and a far away friend…they both have dogs so they sort of feel the same as we do, though why they don’t start their own blogs, I will never know!

It looks to me that TGO is quite tall already…

  7. Well, your friends and family who don’t read your wonderful blog need to have their heads examined! Mama wants to write every single one and chastise him/her/it!!! And she thinks you might like Theo of Golden…a very moving character. Bon année et bon santé, above all, good health dear Ellen.

Ellen, I am thankful for you and your inner child that makes for sweet moments and lots of funnies on the blog. Thankful, of course, for the Meowing Crew.
A very good new tradition you started having the kids decorate the tree!
Have a Happy first day of 2026!

  9. Wishing you peace to guard your mind and joy to anchor your days in 2026. Thanks for always sharing your sweet kitties, especially for someone who always manages to learn something about kitties, a pet I know basically nothing about having always had dogs in my life. Happy New Year, Ellen.

  10. Charlee: “Happy New Year to all of you from all of us!”
Chaplin: “Don’t feel bad, most of Dada’s friends and family don’t read our blog either. But they still get Christmas cards with us and all of our friends on them.”
Charlee: “Yep. If anybody wonders why Mama and Dada manage having a pet opossum or a pet smurf or a pet velociraptor, nobody ever asks.”
Oona: “No doubt they assume Oona keeps them all in line with her ninja skills. AS SHE DOES.”

    1. Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year! Only those that read this blog get our special card with the kitties dressed. XO
