Happy Father’s Day! Stinky cat

Happy Father’s Day everyone- especially to all you cat Daddies. David is pleased with his red bud tree even though it won’t be shipped until this fall.

Today is “every cat has a story” day. Stinky showed up one week before Prancie in 2004. Her name should actually be Lucky because she was lucky we found her so quickly on such a cold night. We are hermits and never go out at night, but our tv had broken and we took a quick trip to Walmart ( 1.5 miles away) to get a new one. When we got home, I heard meowing ( David claimed he didn’t hear anything) so I went looking. Stinky ran right to me, she was running down the road in a big panic with a mini icicle on her whiskers. Needless to say, we kept her- but, I did keep her segragated in a crate for a couple days until I could get her to the vet. I think it was a coincidence that 2 cats got dropped off a week apart, but I am thrilled that we found them.

For all you cat lovers and saviors, please be sure to get any new cats tested for FELV/FIV before you introduce them to the rest of your family. And once they are tested, be sure to slowly introduce them. I will write about that in another post, but there is a lot of info. on the internet about it if you can’t wait.

  1. Some of the best kitties we have ever had the pleasure of having as part of our furmily are the ones who found us. Stinky knew what she was doing when she came running to you. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  2. Awww. Yeah, that’s smart to keep them segregated in case they are carrying anything. A mii icicle… 🙁
