Friendly Fill-Ins Week 82

Hi everyone! Before I start the Friendly Fill-Ins I want to let you all know that the heartworm antigen test came back negative so that is good news. I will do a blog post about feline heartworm next week because it is a complicated subject and I want to warn everyone of the risks. Thank you for the purrs and prayers.

Now for the Friendly Fill-Ins. Don’t forget to add your link at McGuffy’s Reader, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate.

My answers:
1. I can’t believe cigarettes are still sold.
2. I have bought and sold many items on Craigslist. I have also gotten a free piano, cat tree and futon on there and given away many items too.
3. Going into December, the weather outside is confusing. One night it was 19 degrees and the next day it got up to 60 degrees. I prefer the cold though 🙂
4. My current weakness is Dove milk chocolate ( it has been my weakness for quite a while) and Smart Food.
We are also joining Feline Friday currently being hosted by Comedy Plus.
Joanie is working on her letter to Santa. For the next 3 weeks our selfie Sunday will have their letters.

  1. Hallelujah for no heartworm! What a great Christmas gift for the whole crew! Cats are under God’s preserving grace as much as anyone. They are among His most wonderful creations.
    Stay cheered!
    ? ?? ❤ ? ? ❤

    1. Thank you 🙂 That is the perfect Christmas gift. I agree, cats are God’s most wonderful creations. XO

  2. What kind of cats grow in cat trees? Our grand-dogger has heartworms. This is a no fun condition. Since she has been on the meds, she has gained half her weight again. Have a Merry Christmas.

    1. I don’t know-is that a riddle? I am glad your grand dog is doing well on the meds. Cats can’t take the meds 🙁

  3. Hooray for the good news! Your number one is the same as mine, it boggles my brain sometimes. It’s going to be fun seeing those letters to Santa.

    Happy Friday!

  4. I am glad that no heartworms were found. YAYAY!

I agree very much with your answer to #1. They know they are dangerous and kill people other than the one smoking them. If the one smoking them wants to be killing themselves, that’s their choice, but they have no right to choose for me to die along with them or instead of them. Yes, I resent very much having COPD.

Our weather has been very confusing, too. Sometimes there is as much as a 30 degree difference in our high and low of the day. I doubt we’ll ever see 19 degrees, but it has gotten into the 30s at night recently and will do that next week, too. It isn’t usually this cool here in November. I love it! It is almost like back home in South Carolina. 🙂

I can understand being weak when it comes to chocolate. I am, too!

Have a blessed weekend and a Merry Christmas, too.

  5. OhMyGosh, so happy for Sammy! Whew! So thankful!
    My Fill-ins…
    1. I can’t believe cigarettes are still sold. Had to go with you on this one.
    2. I have never been on Craigslist.I think CH’s Uncle bought a truck on there.
    3. Going into December, the weather outside is still thinking it is summer!
    4. My current weakness is Yoplait’s “French style yogurt” Oui. I don’t know if I really like it or I just like the little glass pot it comes in… 🙂 Nah, I really like it… Vanilla Oui makes my taste buds sing!
Joanie you look like you are thinking hard!

    1. Thank you, I am relieved. Thank you for your answers, I enjoyed them. That yogurt sounds good. Have a great weekend!XO

  6. We are so happy Sammy’s heartworm antigen test came back negative! And how wonderful that you’ll be doing a post on heartworms. It is such an important topic. I liked your suggestion yesterday and am already compiling info on heartworm disease for some of my upcoming daily tips.

And, as always, you have fantastic fill-ins. Our answer to #1 is the same. Though no one in my immediate family smokes, 4 of my uncles do. My boss also smokes. And my neighbor. It makes me so sad, as it is so detrimental to both humans and animals. And it’s also pretty gross. Also, I’m like you and prefer cold weather this time of year. It’s hard to feel festive when Christmastime is warm.

    Happy Friday!

    1. Thank you. ANd thank you for taking my suggestion, I am glad you are going to help spread the word of the danger of heartworms to cats.

  7. So happy about Sammy’s heartworm test – this is a scary subject and we’re all thankful Sammy is alright. We love your fill-in answers and Mom was going to say the SAME thing you did for #1 but then she remembered Zweiback and discovered it’s still being sold. It was almost 70 years ago that she was gnawing on those biscuits! HAHAHAH HAPPY FRIDAY!

    Love, Teddy and Mom too

  8. Great news from the vet on the heart-worm issue. I know that’s a huge relieve.

Cigarettes are very expensive, but I don’t see them going away any time soon.

Love Joanie. Too cute. I can’t wait to see her letter to Santa.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. My best to your mom. ♥

  9. Phew…that’s a relief! Will send Healing Pawkisses to Sammy, we just have caught up a few posties. Granny is terribly under the weather, but she wanted to let you know that we have read about Sammy <3 Extra Pawkisses for a Healthy Weekend 🙂 <3

  10. I’m so glad Sammy is negative for heartworm! What a relief 🙂
Weather here is quite confusing, too. It’s warmer than usual lately.

    Have a happy weekend xo

  11. Happy for Sammy 🙂

We agree about why cigarettes are still sold. Nasty habit!

Mum tells me she used to smoke a bit when she was younger but luckily she gave it up!

  12. For a couple years, I chased free stuff on Craigslist – the only things I ever used though was pillow stuffing and a set of unopened bed sheets. I made them into a body pillow. We’re glad Sammy’s okay 🙂 We can’t wait to read the 15andmeowing crew’s letters to Santa.

  13. Great news on the test! Joanie, we bet Santa brings you everything you ask for! Our mommy can’t stand the smell of cigarettes so she’d like them not to be sold anymore too.

  14. Mee-you yur katss rite letterss to Santa Klawss??? Berry kewl Aunty! An wee are doin a **happy dance** that Sammy iss A-OK an no heartworm!
An Joanie yur cute as a button!
    **paw patsss** Siddhartha Henry =^,.^=

  15. It is wonderful news about Sammy’s heartworm test!! I’m so happy to hear this.

I agree that the weather has been all over the place. I have to check the weather every day.

    Dove chocolate is very good!

  16. Such great news for Sammy and your Mama 🙂
Our Mama can’t believe cigarettes are still sold either 🙁
And our Mama loves any chocolate and has to have some every day as well as dessert!

the critters in the cottage xo

  17. That’s great news about Sammy’s test. Our weather has been strange too. We’ve actually had some pretty nice weather, sunny but cool, in the 40s. But they say maybe snow by the end of next week.

  18. Hurray for the negative test!

    Fill-ins:
    1. I can’t believe tobacco in any form is still sold is still sold. If it wasn’t for sale in stores, I could stop easily. Like stopping MJ when I left college.

    2. I have Marley from a post on Craigslist.

    3. Going into December, the weather outside is still delightful and I am usefully busy.

    4. My current weakness is Lindor Chocolate Truffles (Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Hazelnut Milk Chocolate). And bananas.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am sorry you have been unable to quit smoking- have you tried the patch?
Marley was a good find on craigslist. I love truffles. Have a nice weekend!

  19. Ooooh! Letters to Santa! If I’d visited earlier, I wouldn’t have forgot to link up. HAH! You’re lucky with Craigslist. Around her I wouldn’t try it. We won’t even use Uber cos so many of their drivers have been arrested for violent crimes.

      1. I am sorry that I am so late. There were some unplanned things over the weekend. You know, Life happens. Thanks for being there.
The weather is so odd. Today it was near 60, rainy, windy, and very dark. Tomorrow it is to be around 35! Stay safe.
I love dove milk chocolate, too! xo

  20. Ellen,

You’d think with all the warnings and cancer worries from smoking that no one would buy cigarettes again but they do. I remember our neighbor, a lifelong smoker, being diagnosed with lung cancer and one time I visited her with my smalll daughters. I took her some soup. Anyhow, she told my daughters to never smoke and had she’d known she would not have ever picked up a cigarette. Despite that warning and knowing everything, my oldest daughter smokes. I tell her to give it up and remind her of our neighbor but it’s just not going to happen anytime soon. Peer pressure or whatever causes someone to pick up it will always be instrumental in causing some to make bad decisions regardless of the medical studies, first-hand exposure, or warning. It’s really sad, too. Thanks for dropping by last week. I’m playing catch up today. 🙂

    1. Thank you. I wish I knew how to play the piano, I took lessons, but I have no musical ability.

  21. I am so glad your heartworm test was negative, Sammy! Hallelujah!!

    1. I can’t believe fireworks are still sold for the public to use, sometimes with dire results.
    2. I have not ever even looked at anything on Craigslist.
    3. Going into December, the weather outside is frightful…and we are getting a big snow dump, along with winds and bitter cold. Ugh. .
    4. My current weakness is as always, chocolate followed by peanut butter cookies and cashews. (despite our dietary commitments, MOL!) .

    1. Thank you for your answers. Fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts, but many go over to NH for them, they should be illegal everywhere.
We had 6 inches of snow, enough to make it pretty, but not too much. All those are good treats 🙂
