Friendly Fill-Ins Week #54

Hi everyone! Time for The Friendly Fill-Ins Week 54. The linky may not be ready at midnight like it usually is because Annie has been getting violent storms causing internet troubles. We apologize for any delay, but once the linky is up, you have until Wednesday at midnight to add your link so be sure to add it at McGuffy’s Reader. Thank you to all who participate.

1. I have googled _________________________.
2. I have________________________ on Ebay.
3. I think                                .

4.                         thinks                              .

My answers:

  1. I have googled myself, I bet a lot of you have 🙂 I always google questions about cat health too.
  2. I have bought and sold countless items on Ebay.
  3. I think that I think too much, I can never calm my mind when I attempt to meditate, it feels like there is a ping-pong ball bouncing around in there.
  4. My husband thinks I spend too much money on veterinary care- too bad, my cats are my only indulgence, we don’t travel or have children or live extravagantly.

Sammy got mail today, he won at Cat Scouts betting on The Kentucky Derby. He will tell you all about his prize tomorrow- unless he has a catnip hangover.

  1. Great Fill-ins! Mom agrees with #3….hard to quiet the mind.

Omc we got our prize too…we’re probably going to have hangovers tomorrow too!!!

    1. Thank you, it is hard to quiet the mind. Sammy is definitely going to be hung over.

  2. It’s not easy just to breathe, is it…MOL.. I think just looking at the kitties is a kind of meditating itself, no ping pong balls involved..MOL 😀 Concatulations, Sammy…Pawkisses for a good Nip hang over 😀 <3

  3. When people used to ask Grandpa about his memorabilia collection, he would say, “I don’t drink, smoke, play bridge, pool, golf, or go bowling. This is my recreation and my indulgence!” If your precious pets are your indulgence, well, it’s a relationship where you are blessed and so are they!

  4. Looks like a great prize on Sammy’s Derby win! As for spending money on vet care – you have a lot of cat-kids and if they were HUMAN-kids, your hubby wouldn’t object to taking them to the doctor sooooooooooooooooo I say taking care of your “children” is #1 priority! So there!

    Hugs, Pam

  5. What fun fill-ins, as always! I have indeed googled myself. I have a relatively rare first name, so it was pretty easy to find myself. Ebay used to terrify me, but now I use it all the time. I know exactly how you feel with #3. I think I’ve always been an over-thinker, and sometimes I have to tell myself to just enjoy things for what they are rather than try to over-analyze everything. And I also know exactly what you mean with #4. I’m fairly certain that my furbabies are my primary expense in life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Have a beautiful day!

    1. I am glad you like the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. Ebay is great and so is google, my name is rare too. Vet expenses are by far my biggest expenses. Hope you had a nice day.

  6. Thanks for sharing about yourself. We spent way too much money on cancer treatments for our cat Luna in 2014, putting her through ultimately pointless procedures. That’s on my husband, actually. He hates to see me heartbroken, which is how it ended anyway. I was going to refuse the radical mastectomy (!) that even our vets didn’t want to do until the oncologist convinced them. ~sigh~ Be well!

    1. I am very sorry about Luna, we want to keep our beloved cats with us for as long as we can and a lot of places take advantage of that love we have.

  7. I have a very hard time shutting my brain off, too. The ping-pong ball is a great way to describe it! Going out to watch the birds and other creatures in our yard is helping a great deal. With a few exceptions, my blood pressure has been significantly lower than it has been in a very long time. It has gone from regularly being 160+ over 90+ to 130 something over 80 something. I spend a lot of time out there talking to Heavenly Father while waiting for the birds to come along. It has helped a great deal.

I think in regards to #4, you have to do what feels right to you. These kitties are your babies. Maybe some day your husband will feel the same way about it.

    Congratulations, Sammy!

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

    1. I am glad your blood pressure has gone down from spending time outdoors and talking to God. Thank you for your support on #4, they truly are my babies. Sammy thanks you. We hope you have a blessed weekend too. XO

  8. dood…N joy de nip N eat plentee oh perch when ya get de muncheez 🙂 !! yur momz fill inz R grate; tell her ta google cat treez sum time N ask if her can then purrchase one on EBAY!!! 🙂 ♥♥heerz two a flashlight fish kinda week o end ~~~~ ♥♥

    1. He is into the valerian now, but my hubby and I can’t stand the smell- LOL! Hope you have a great weekend too.

  9. Congrats on winning Sammy! That should keep you happy for some time! 🙂

My animals are my biggest indulgence too, although maybe making sure your cats are all healthy isn’t necessarily an indulgence but a sign of a good Mama! 🙂

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Sammy is very happy. Thank you, I agree it is not an indulgence, although the price tag is 🙂 XO

    1. Good to know others do Google themselves 🙂 Maybe we should start a meditation group, it seems like a lot of us have this problem.

  10. Whenever I find that my brain just won’t shut up, I try to pray. Sometimes my brain keeps getting off track and I have to try to get back to the prayers. This sometimes goes on for a long time. I hope you can get your mind to a quiet place. Baroque music sometimes helps. Evidently the patterns cause our brains to reach beta level. Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you for these suggestions. I do pray before bed, but that is a good idea to do anytime.

  11. I google cat things for their health and I have googled my heart health issues so I would know what to expect before surgery. I have bought a lot on eBay but only historical items. Like you…I have an indulgence that I feel I should enjoy as I don;t do the standard other things…travel, clothes, nicknacks, etc. I have my coins, my historical memorabilia and my stamps. well, camera equipment too, but not on eBay. :- )

  12. Good questions and answers. # 3 same here, and bouncing around from one thing to another, and being distracted by everything! 🙂

    1. I sometimes think I have ADD, but I had no trouble in school, this started in adulthood.:)

  13. Wow! I commented but must have forgotten to hit “Post Comment”. *blush*
Sammy, you look euphoric! You deserved that win, though.
Your answers are so genuine. Nope, never googled myself. You do eBay? wow!
Bill says that I think too much. I might, too.
I feel bad about the vet costs. You are a good mom, and I am sure hubby knows that. Men worry differently than women do. *sigh*
Thanks for hosting with me. You are wonderful. HUGS.

    1. Thank you for hosting with me too, I am pleased at how well the fill-ins are going. I enjoy learning about everyone. I sell some things on ebay at a fixed price and I only buy fixed price items to, I don’t like competing against people for anything. XO

  14. Hi! Oh good for you, Sammy! Mom’s like your momma, she spends a lot on vet care, too, but me & the D-O-G are her fur kids and she says we’re worth every penny. She teases that we’re probably still cheaper than human children! Mew Mew!

  15. Lucky Sammy with mail… it is always fun to get mail!
I think too much and can’t sleep at night… I think it really is worry too much!
I did Fill-ins at Pam’s yesterday morning because I first found the Fill-ins there and did them in her comments. I think kitties are a great indulgence and I am so happy that your kitties have you!

    1. Sammy agrees, he loves mail 🙂 Same here, I try not to think at night, but I can’t help it. I will check out your fill-ins. Kitties are the best 🙂

  16. Glad you won, Sammy! Indulgence time for you, MOL!!

    1. I have googled lots pf things, sometimes many times a day.
    2. I have not used Ebay.
    3. I think that I am addicted to blogging with my kitty/doggy pals, MOL! .

4.When we have *financial* discussions, hubby thinks that we have to be responsible for ourselves, our boys and our three fur boys too. So I guess he is of the $$ needed for furry ones is OK to a certain degree, cause he balks at doing *too much* in cases of illness. He does support me in how we care for Minko and all his special needs. Though he does think I spend too much time on the confuser, MOL! .

    1. Thank you for your answers to the fill-ins, I always enjoy them. I am addicted to reading blogs about out kitty friends too ( and a few dogs like MJF). That is good that you and the hubby are on the same page with pet health care. XO

  17. Ellen,

Pets can be more expensive than kids but you pointed out, you don’t have kids or travel and this is your passion. I say if you can afford it and it makes you happy then that’s all that matters. I’m sure your hubs doesn’t mind even though he doesn’t like the expense. I mean who likes spending money on anything health related? It’s just one of the necessary evils. lol We sure have ours! Have a good week, dearie!
