Hi everyone. Thank you to all who ordered cookies from Typhoid Mary- she thanks you too.

Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. My answers:
1. I used to think HUD helped people get homes, but I was wrong. My sister-in-law had a reverse mortgage that has something to do with HUD. And they are really harassing us despite the fact that we have an attorney and are waiting for the probate process which we have no control over. I never would have guessed they would be involved with something as shady as a reverse mortgage.
2. Every time I plan to do anything, I am reminded by God that I really have no control over anything.
3. I’m already looking forward to the month of June because I will start sneaking some Halloween decorations out and the kids will get out of school for the summer.
4. When it comes to social media, I think it causes more grief than good.

  2. Sorry you are having so much trouble about your sister-in-law’s house.
    Your #2 and #4 are very true, indeed.

    1. I used to think I would never learn how to do things on the computer, but I was wrong.
    2. Every time I plan to Do this or that chore, I am thwarted by some other urgent thing or a distraction that keeps me from doing what was on my list.
    3. I’m already looking forward to the month of April because I love watching the natural world ‘waking up’.
    4. When it comes to social media, I do blogging, mostly…I have a facebook, and an instagram, gut mostly don’t do anything there, they sure are potential sources of all kinds of misery…

  4. Angel Sammy was so sweet taking a nap. I don’t like social media either. I do very occasionally go on Facebook, but you can’t believe most of what is on there, and people can be so cruel with their comments.
    Ivor uses my account regularly but mostly to see what is happening in the village group.

  5. Hope you can get that situation with the house cleared up – what a shame……the whole situation is sad really. Love the flashback of Angel Sammy – they definitely do NOT like that “flashy box” !!

  7. Angel Sammy looked as if this was his way of hiding from some of the grief the world gives us. What a mess that reverse mortgage must be. Sorry you have to go through that. I guess I look forward to June and the sound of lawn mowers running so I have something new to complain about besides snow, lol.

  12. Ellen, I agree with you about social media. I think you are totally right about our lack of control over anything. I need to listen to God more often.

    1. I used to think tuna was good for you but I was wrong. It’s not the same as it was years ago.
    2. Every time I plan to load up a photo and do a blog post, I get frustrated with the whole process and remember why I stopped blogging.
    3. I’m already looking forward to the month of November 2026 because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
    4. When it comes to social media, I got weary of blogging and the Book of Face and jumped on the Instagram bus.
    Angel Sammy looks so soft… he is so missed.

  14. Anytime the government is involved, things go ‘pear shaped’, as the Brits like to say.
    We’ve had a good 5 inches of snow, with really cold temps, and more snow on its way, forcing me to remain inside, which drives me to FB to entertain myself.
    Mostly, I nab memes and cartoons.
    And why did I post Dragon Appreciation Day on 1/14 instead of today, 1/16?
    Why didn’t I notice before today?!?

    1. Very true about the government. Sorry about all the snow. We are supposed to get some tomorrow, but not that much. XO

  16. 1. I used to think our government wasn’t so corrupt, but I was wrong. When you start your career and you’re not a millionaire and you leave it a millionaire something is very wrong.
    2. Every time I plan to do housework, I find tons of things to do other than the housework.
    3. I’m already looking forward to the month of March because it will be spring. Spring is my favorite of all the seasons. The world comes alive.
    4. When it comes to social media, I am careful who I let into my world.

  19. Probate is the worst. I’ve been going through it with my uncle’s estate. They’ve messed up the paperwork, and the poor guy who bought the house can’t get a title to it.

    Sorry your family has had a bad experience with a reverse mortgage. They have a place in home ownership but it sounds like the lender involved with HUD wasn’t a good player. Hopefully you SIL can get things resolved. Good luck
