Friendly Fill-Ins Week 497

Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. The easiest one on my Christmas shopping list to buy for is _________________________.
2. The toughest one in my Christmas shopping list to buy for is _____________________.

3. I try to spread Christmas cheer by _________.

4. When it comes to _________, I’m a bit of a Scrooge.
My answers:
1. The easiest one on my Christmas shopping list to buy for is Typhoid Mary. She likes so many things including Disney’s Stitch and there are Stitch things everywhere right now.
2. The toughest one in my Christmas shopping list to buy for is my hubby’s cousin who we only see once a year at our holiday party.

3. I try to spread Christmas cheer by donating toys at the bank where they collect for Toys for Tots.

4. When it comes to receiving Christmas cards, I’m a bit of a Scrooge. I rant every year when I open cards from relatives or friends we have known for years, and they don’t sign love.  I know, I have issues.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from November 2021. Angel Sammy was working on his Christmas cards for Cat Scouts.

  1. Anglel Sammy was good at being a Cat Scout. Too bad it had to fold…

I & 2 …no list here anymore…when we all mostly just exchanging gift cards, I said, it was a silly thing to be doing, so we just now get together and have fun in each other’s company and enjoy a nice meal, and we go to church as a family, which only happens for holidays, since the younger son lives about 90 minutes from here and goes to his own church. (But it is easy and fun to get things for the dogs, LOL!)
#3: I spread Christmas cheer at my work, by wearing christmas socks and earrings, (I will raise up my pants and show off my socks…it makes them all giggle and then we are going to have a good day caring for them); and sometimes a scarf inside my uniform shirt. At other times I wear seasonal colored clothing, and scarves and jewellery…and I try to have conversations and smiles with those I meet in stores or when I walk my dogs.
#4 I am kind of a scrooge with Christmas cards, too…since the paper ones mostly eventually end up in the trash, I just send eCards to everyone. (The only regular
cards are to some of my relatives who don’t have a computer.) And postage for the overseas cards, including to Canada are outrageous!

    1. I enjoyed your replies. I too will strike up a few remarks about pets while walking (tho Katie won’t allow me to take HER out on a leash) or in the grocery sometimes. I agree with the postage issue. WHEW! I have three furriends in Canada I send cards to. I just keep a sheet of international stamps. (another “whew”)

    2. Thank you. I miss Scouts and my boy. Thank you for these great answers. It is more important to be with those you love than give gifts so you have the right idea. That is nice of you to try to spread cheer at work. XO

  2. Well, mama is feeling more and more that Christmas is for children, not grown up have-too-much humans who probably get a little of the doldrums she gets around end-of-year time. But of course, donating things is wonderful and at this age mama says, she has duplicates of too many past Christmases. I mean how many carrot-peelers does one need, haha? Happy holidays to all.

  3. I imagine Christmas time is SUPER BUSY around your house between decorating and taking care of all the cats as well as shopping for everyone – it’s tiring for me to just think about all you do!! This year we have fewer than ever Christmas cards to send out – as we get older, the list gets shorter…..

    Hugs, Pam

  4. Sweet pic of Angel Sammy. I like your fill-ins. I enjoy receiving Christmas cards, even the eCards. I keep many of the special cards, especially yours.

  5. I guess I try to spread my Christmas cheer by finding every place in town that the Salvation Army is ringing the bells and collecting money. I don’t like to miss any of the collection points.

  6. Funny, this is the first year that I removed ‘love’ from my holiday cards!
Not sure why that seemed important, but there you go.
I can always hand-write it in, along with a cute cat sticker.
    😉

  7. Charlee: “Our Dada hasn’t even started our Christmas cards this year. I wonder if he’s just planning to recycle the extra cards we have left over from the last couple of years …”

  8. Angel Sammy was a good Cat Scout. He is so handsome in this photo… cute too! Good Fill-Ins again this week.

    1. The easiest one on my Christmas shopping list to buy for is SSNS.
    2. The toughest one in my Christmas shopping list to buy for is our niece and nephew.
    3. I try to spread Christmas cheer by giving to the annual charity that our neighborhood HOA selects for our Christmas Open House. We also make a donation to Mote Marine at Christmas.
    4. When it comes to sending out Christmas cards, I’m a bit of a Scrooge. Ellen, I took this one from you 🙂

    1. Thank you. I miss my boy. Thank you for these great answers. That is kind of you to donate to those causes. XO

  9. 1. The easiest one on my Christmas shopping list to buy for is the great grands. I never know what they want and getting my granddaughter to tell me is very difficult.
    2. The toughest one in my Christmas shopping list to buy for is hubby. He needs nothing.
    3. I try to spread Christmas cheer by giving gifts to those that take care of us all year long. The garbage truck driver, our gardeners, hair stylists, nails and pedicure person and the list goes on and on.
    4. When it comes to sending Christmas cards, I’m a bit of a Scrooge. It’s just more than I want to do.
