Friendly Fill-Ins Week 478

Hi everyone. ime for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. The best part of the summer is _______________.
2. I can’t believe that I ever ___________________.
3. I would happily _________ every single day.
4. I could use a break from _________.
My answers:
1. The best part of the summer is getting to spend more time with The Great One, Typhoid Mary and The Boy.
2. I can’t believe that I ever slathered myself in baby oil and sunbathed. Now my hubby calls me Drac because I avoid the sun.
3. I would happily spend hours with cats every single day. And I do. 🙂
4. I could use a break from hearing bad news. I try to avoid watching the news, but my hubby watches it so I end up hearing a lot of it.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from July 2021, Angel Emmy was checking out my book sale finds. Every year, there is a fairly big book sale in Amherst (Emily Dickinson’s hometown).  It starts today and I will be there.

  6. Charlee: “Our Dada avoids the sun too! In fact when he and Mama decided to move to California his friends back East were like, ‘Why are you moving to California? You hate sunlight.'”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, obviously they moved out here so they could adopt all of us!”

  7. #2 and #4… ditto. Ellen, you are so lucky to have family close. I know you already know that.

    1. The best part of the summer is when it is over.
    2. I can’t believe that I ever ate tuna out of a can. Ewww. White Albacore tuna isn’t as good as it used to be.
    3. I would happily go to the Oshkosh 2025 fly-in convention going on right now.
    4. I could use a break from the crows that are roosting in the Preserve which is our backyard. They have a lot to say.
Hugs to the Peeps and scritches and tummy tickles to the Meowing Crew.

    1. I forgot Angel Emmy… how could I have done that? Angel Emmy♥
I love the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie! The illustrations♥ Angel Emmy was smart to check out those books 🙂

Have a fabulous day and weekend. Ellen. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥

  9. Happy book hunting!
(The best part of summer is long mellow days with time to get lots of things done by daylight.
I can’t believe I ever thought staying up all night long was fun.
I would be happy if I had a lot of money. Some people think I’m annoyingly cheerful even without money, but I could be much happier if I had a million or so!
I could use a break from the last heat wave, and hurrah, we’re in the middle of one. I think it’s heading inland.)

  10. Oh the things we didn’t know about the sun years ago. Especially my era. The only sunscreen I recall was coppertone and something called Banana boat that had a disgusting odor,
Just had my annual dermatology check up 2 weeks ago. She found a spot on my the right side of my face…she froze it. Caught very very very early
    Hugs Cecilia

  11. Best part of Summer is when it goes away!

I can’t believe that I would ever see a tax assessment and bill like the one that came yesterday. This must be the Tag Mahal. However it’s spelled.
I would happily exercise every single day!
I could use a break from housework.

  13. It does seem like we are surrounded by bad news these days. That’s why Mom loves the end story on the NBC Nightly News – it is always a good news feature:)

We wish the grands were little again here. We heard from our Angels how much fun it was when they were little and stayed here during the day while their parents worked. Now we have to wait for some great-grands, but that will take a good while.

    Woos – Misty and Timber

  14. Sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday! I’ll give you good wishes now!
I remember those days of laying out in the sun with baby oil all over us. I never really tanned, just burned.
Best thing about summer is it’s not winter! And I could happily read every day, and I do!
    Happy Friday and weekend <3

  15. The summer with the kids would be fun.

Angel Emmy was a wonderful model and those are excellent books. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

  16. Oh yeah, I remember the days of laying in the sun, all babyoiled and grilling like meat on a barbeque.
It’s very difficult for me to NOT attend a book sale, even though I don’t want to buy anymore books; it’s a compulsion.
