Friendly Fill-Ins Week 444

Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I already know what I am going to get _____________________ for Christmas.
2. I have no idea what to get _____________ for Christmas.
3. _________ is my earliest Christmas memory.

My answers:

3. Opening gifts on Christmas Eve at my childhood home is my earliest Christmas memory. I was probably around five. We always opened gifts Christmas Eve instead of day.

  1. We always did our presents after we came home from the Christmas Eve church service, and then we had to get up early on Christmas Day for another church service. Those services were very special, and I miss that sort of thing these days, though we do have a service on Christmas Morning.

    1. I already know what I am going to get the resident I ‘adopted’ for Christmas.
    2. I have no idea what to get anyone in my family for Christmas. I tell them my special dinner is my gift to them, after my love for them!
3.Going to a Christmas Candlelight service is my earliest Christmas memory. Singing the carols and hearing the message was special to me even at a young age. One year my mother took me to a performance in our church of her professional choir’s rendering of some seasonal music by Bach. I was a bit older than my first memories, but I will never forget those wonderful times. (From some pictures I have from about age four or so, I see myself checking out a Christmas tree…and sitting in a big chair With my big sister and baby brother…but I really don’t remember it in my mind!)
    4. My house used to be fully decorated during the Christmas season…but I have cut back, now that only me and hubby are here…I put up a small tree and a few other times. Tis year I have to work Christmas, because I have the other two holidays off…healthcare…one of the drawbacks, but I really don’t mind that much…

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Sounds like you have many wonderful memories of Christmas. How sweet that you adopted a resident. XO

  2. We loved the music at Christmas and mama’s mama made incredible butter cookies and there was eggnog and milk punch and crab dip and many festivities of music. Mama loved those and sang in her school’s choir.

  3. Gift buying can really be a chore sometimes when you’re not sure what to get and there’s so many choices in the store. Angel Sammy looked to be a cutie. Have a good weekend

  4. I remember Sammy! I sure do.

I enjoyed Petcretary’s memories as a child. Very similar to my own.

  5. Sweet pic of Angel Sammy. I have no idea what to get my hubby for Christmas. Mr. Picky is hard to please. My tabletop Christmas tree has been up since Halloween.

    My Fill-Ins—
    1. I already know what I am going to get my Husband for Christmas.
    2. I have no idea what to get myself for Christmas. Ha!
    3. Getting a can of black olives and an orange in my Christmas stocking is my earliest Christmas memory. “Santa” always put a can of black olives in my stocking because I loved black olives straight out of the can.
    4. My house makes me feel cozy and festive during the Christmas season.
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I miss my boy. Thank you for these great answers. I am sure your hubby knows what to get you. That is cool about the olives. I am just developing a taste for them at 55. Hope you have a nice weekend too. XO

  8. Aww, sweet Angel Sammy. That pic is so precious. Love the hat! Great fill-ins. I’m jealous you know what you’re getting your husband. I’m way behind on all my Christmas preparations.

  9. Aww, sweet Angel Sammy. That pic is so precious. Love the hat! Great fill-ins. I’m jealous you know what you’re getting your husband. I’m way behind with all my Christmas preparations.

  10. I hope you figure out something to give Typhoid Mary.

Angel Sammy was always so handsome. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

  11. Chaplin: “Howdy, Sammy Pilgrim.”
Charlee: “Why are you doing that with your voice?”
    Chaplin: “Doing what, Pilgrim?”
Charlee: “Talking like some kind of cowboy.”
Chaplin: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Pilgrim.”
Lulu: “He’s doing his John Wayne impression. Just ignore him.”
Java Bean: “We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!”
