Friendly Fill-Ins Week 431

Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. The summer is just about over and I have yet to ___________________________.
2. The highlight of my summer was _________________________.
3. _________ is a fictional character I really relate to.
4. My interest in _________ began when _________.
My answers:
1. The summer is just about over and I have yet to get a chocolate frostee with cherry dip. I missed that last summer too.
2. The highlight of my summer was the sleepovers with my great-nieces.
3. Amelia Bedelia is a fictional character I really relate to. She is like a giant kid that can cook good food.
4. My interest in making concrete pumpkins began when I saw a large one at a place that sells statues. I figured I could find a way to make one cheaper.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from August 2015, Angels Prancie and Phoebe were having a spat and Angel Stinky had a front row seat. They used to do this when they wanted us to give out treats.

  1. Ha! The spat’s sort of cute! When food is in their opinion, late, our kitties will start fussing at each other, too. Interesting about the concrete pumpkins! They will never start to look saggy! XO

  2. You are a card, as mama’s grandmother used to say of wild and crazy and fun people. Love Amelia…what is a chocolate frosty with cherry dip? Mama is going to google….

  3. I enjoy reading about Amelia Bedelia, too! I need to get me some real ice cream treat soon… a Frostee sounds good too!

That is a great capture of the spat with an audience! Treats are the peacemaker…

    1. The summer is just about over and I have yet to get my little canvas shed up to house some the stuff that came out of the demolished one…ass the new shed is too small for it all….
    2. The highlight of my summer was making plans to fly to Vancouver for my niece’s wedding…only now there is talk of an impending pilot strike…staring just before that, yikes! Hope its not going to happen, or that if it does, it’s short lived, so that we won’t be out of our trip….
    3. Dirty Harry is a fictional character I really relate to. (My Benji told me to say that!)
    4. My interest in music began when I started 9th grade, (Learning to play the violin), though I had already learned quite a bit about music from listening to things with my family.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 And thank you for these great answers. I hope you get to go to the wedding and the strike doesn’t happen. I like Harry the Dirty dog. 🙂 XO

  4. Well it seems that those two angels knew how to get food out of you didn’t they. Now that you’re getting better from covid maybe you better go get that special ice cream that you like. You deserve a treat now.

  5. Sweet pic of Angel’s kitties having a spat and referee Angel Stinky looking on.
The summer is just about over and I have yet to finish my decluttering
The highlight of my summer was looking forward to fall
My interest in blogging began when I retired

  6. Going to check out the chocolate frosty with cherry dip AND Amelia Bedelia as soon as I hit PUBLISH here! Love the Flashback today!!! Angels Prancie and Phoebe having a spat?!♥
    My Fill-Ins…
    1. The summer is just about over and I have yet to go to the beach. The cool season is the best season.
    2. The highlight of my summer was the equestrian events at the Olympics.
    3. The little girls in Thelwell’s books about girls and their fat ponies are fictional characters I really relate to. Angels on Horseback by Norman Thelwell is one of many Thelwell books about girls and ponies.
    4. My interest in horses began when I was three when my Grandad plopped me on the back of his fat old gray mare.
    Good Morning, Meowing Crew!

    1. I think you will like both. Thank you for these great answers. I hope you can get to the beach soon. I need to look into those books for the girls. XO

  7. Had to smile at Leah’s comment as it is the same as mine! Those paws!!! And Angel Stinky is the audience.

  8. Let us know if you try the concrete pumpkin! I assume you’ll do a smallish one. I imagine it might get heavy!

  9. Your fill-ins are fantastic, as always! Your #1 reminded me that I haven’t yet gone to our local custard shop that closes during the winter. And I love how you put Amelia Bedelia for #3. She was one of my favorite characters as a kid, and it’s such a perfect answer. I hope you have lots more fun sleepovers with the girls, and that you have fun making concrete pumpkins!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Typhoid Mary likes Amelia Bedelia, but sadly, The Great One does not. XO

  10. stinky…sew eye gotta ask…how manee roundz did prancie N phoebe go…N who waz de winner ? 🙀😺🐟💙💚💖‼️

    1. They were good for a few rounds. Phoebe was the nastier fighter, I think Prancie was just defending herself. 🙂 XO

  11. Amelia Bedelia — she’s a fun character.

Having a spat on purpose to get treats? No, your angels never did that. Heeheehee! Of course, they did, and I’ll bet it worked, at least sometimes. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

  12. Folks always love when I put out the giant jack-o-lantern made by a friend. Decades later, it’s become a bigger and bigger challenge as the inner roofing foam connections disintegrated. Last fall one neighbor helped support the three sections as I found innovative ways to secure them, and she begged me not to give up. 😀 I hope it’s not too late for your summertime treat. Or perhaps you can make an equivalent? I found some misc. copycat recipes here:

I always enjoy seeing your sweet kitties past and present. Hugs, my dear.

  13. We have several of the Amelia Bedelia books in the bookcase upstairs. She was a favorite of all the grands and Mom too:)

    Woos – Misty and Timber

  14. That is a terrific action photo. Mom really wants to make one of those pumpkins. Maybe she’ll have time when she is recovery from her knee surgery. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
