Friendly Fill-Ins Week 426

Hi everyone. Before we get started, I want to give my condolences to Dawn on the loss of beautiful Lexy. To visit, click here.

Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. I have changed ______________ in the past year.
2.I need to get moving on _________________
3. Though it might seem childish, I _________.
4. _________ wasn’t as _________ as I thought it would be.
My answers:
1. I have changed my thinking a lot in the past year. The older I get, the less I care what people think of me.
2.I need to get moving on pestering my hubby to go through some boxes of stuff that he needs to decide on decluttering wise. I have given a break for a few months.
3. Though it might seem childish, I collect Potato Heads and Weebles. And I am not ashamed. 🙂
4. The latest Nic Cage film wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. As you all know, I am a Nicolas Cage fan. I like a lot of his earlier work, but in recent years I have skipped several of his films or shut them off for being too brutal and bloody. I recently got Dream Sequence from the library and it was OK which I guess is a compliment because he has been in a lot of bad films.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from July 2021. The Great One had Angel Joanie dressed as a nurse.

  1. You could NEVER be faulted for liking Potato Heads or anything fun and lively that makes you happy and smile at the often idiocy of “serious” others. And I’m sure your hubby loves his break, haha. Mama is decluttering too and it has taken a few months! And this from an elderly SAGE friend:
    What other people think of you is none of your business.
    Boy, is THAT the truth! Be YOU, and keep delighting us all, dear Ellen.

  2. Everyone will be missing Lexi, but now she’s reunited with her friend, Lola.
    Potato heads and weebles are fun! It’s great to have a whole collection!
    That is a sweet picture/memory of Angel Joanie!

    1. I have changed my weight for the better in the past year.
    2.I need to get moving on a lot of household chores
    3. Though it might seem childish, I don’t feel childish, I feel happy! I have a whole shelf full of gnomes….
    4. The last 2 hour ‘education’ we had at my work wasn’t as boring as I thought it would be.

    1. Thank you. And thank you for these great answers. Good for you for losing weight. Gnomes are great. I have quite a few. XO

  3. Maybe Angel Joanie could swing by here for a little nursing job. I’m like you I’m too old to care what other people think anymore. Once I quit punching the time clock I don’t think anybody has a right to tell me what to do.

  4. I will join Loulou in that you are a delight to the rest of us. I even smiled as soon as I read that. (HUGS)

  5. Sweet pic of Angel Joanie, and I am sorry about Lexi. As I get older, I don’t care what people think. Life is too short to worry about it. Though it may seem childish, I still have some old teddy bears.

  6. Lots of good stuff here Ellen.
    I liked #1 answer. We can’t change what people think especially if they are naturally negative thinkers….just ignore them
    I liked the Angel Joanie
    Hugs Cecilia

  7. I love that you collect Potato Heads… let your inner child run free! Great photo and memory of Joanie♥
    1. I have changed my appetite for a lot of favorite foods in the past year. I can’t stand tuna at all anymore. Tuna in the can is just ewwwww… no more tuna noodle casserole which I loved. Also not crazy about peanut butter which I have been eating every day for years and years. No more spicy foods either.
    2. I need to get moving on purchasing new bath towels. I can’t even express how much I dislike shopping for and buying bath towels.
    3. Though it might seem childish, I still like to eat my ice cream with sprinkles on it.
    Have a wonderful Friday, Meowing Crew!
    4. Switching to reading glasses after my cataracts were removed wasn’t as ideal as I thought it would be. It’s great to be able to see clearly far away without glasses now but because of correction for far away vision for 60 years I was able to see close up without glasses or contacts. Now I can’t read without reading glasses. Complete turn around but I’m working it out. I am very thankful that having the cataracts removed was easy and without issues.

    1. Thank you. And thank you for these great answers. Funny how our tastes change with time. Buying towels is tough. It is hard to figure out if they will be absorbent. I love sprinkles. 🙂 Glad you were able to get rid of your cataracts. XO

  8. I love collecting things. Whatever makes you happy! Dream Sequence was a little weird, haha.

  9. 1. I have changed from a car to a SUV in the past year. Getting into and out of a car is far more difficult as we age. Hubby feels the same.
    2. I need to get moving on getting rid of the three pounds I gained recently. I’ve been eating way to much ice cream and Cheetos.
    3. Though it might seem childish, I love acting goofy. I don’t think I’ll ever grow up.
    4. Selling our ski boat wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. It sold within a week. Now we just have the 340 Sea Ray.

    Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.

    Have a fabulous day and weekend. Scritches to the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥

    1. Thank you for these great answers. My mom also changed to an SUV years ago for the same reason. Three pounds is no big deal- enjoy what you want. XO

  11. Great fill-ins. Nothing wrong with collecting things that make us happy. In fact, we recommend it. I collected penguins for years. We were sorry to learn about Lexy and have left her human thoughts of comfort. There have been way too many angels this year. 💔

  12. There’s nothing wrong with collecting such toys, many people do.
    I’m sure Angel Joanie was a wonderful nurse. Maybe Dusty will do the same soon, let the girls dress her up. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

  13. Adorable photo of Angel Joanie. I think your collections are fun. We should do what makes us happy.

  14. I’m with you on these fill-ins 100%. 😀 The movie “Longlegs” is something I’m willing to watch, having grown up enjoying horror, thriller, and even gory movies. As long as the premise is NOT torture alone, like the “Saw” and “Cube” franchises, I’m in. Ugh… Hugs, well wishes, and as always, thanks for sharing your beautiful (angel or otherwise) kitty photos.

  15. Ellen…good for you on #1. The only opinion that matters about yourself is yours. And if you are happy, then those who love and care about you will be happy for you. I am certain the Great One and Typhoid Mary are delighted with your collections! And again, if they make you happy, go for it! Haven’t seen Nic Cage movie in ages. Nice flashback photo. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh

  16. Aunty Ellen wee furry sad about Lexy two….poor Miss Dawn. Shee lost Lola only 6 monthss ago…iss so unfair!!!

    ~~~head rubss~~~BellaDharma~~~ an {{{huggiess}}} BellaSita Mum
    1. I am sad too. Life can be very unfair. Thank you. I am young at heart, I just wish I could convince my body of that. Yes, a never ending battle indeed. XO
  17. Great answers on the fill ins, Ellen. We’re so with you on #1 as this was a big victory for Granny too. She says effurrybody is thinking of themselves, they don’t even have time to think about others…at least that’s what she hopes😹#3 it’s not childish at all, it’s wonderful. Enjoy! Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you🐾😽💞
  18. Chaplin: “Aww, we didn’t know Lexy, but we are always sad when a furry friend has to leave for the Rainbow Bridge, especially a beautiful Tuxie!”
    Charlee: “I bet our Dada would have liked a nurse like Angel Joanie when he was in the hospital. I mean sure the human nurses were nice but there’s nothing like a purring kitty to make you feel better, am I right?”
