Friendly Fill-Ins Week 417

Hi everyone! Thank you for all the blogoversary wishes yesterday. I appreciate you all.

Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.

1. My plans for the long weekend include __________________________.
2. _________________ is the messiest person I know.
3. I can’t thank _________ enough for _________.
4. I don’t understand why so many people _________.
My answers:
1. My plans for the long weekend include bringing flowers to the graves of loved ones and spending some time with The Great One and Typhoid Mary.
2. Typhoid Mary is the messiest person I know. She is also incredibly bright and exuberant with all she does which tends to lead to messes.
3. I can’t thank my friend, Stacia enough for setting me up on a blind date with my hubby back in 1989.
4. I don’t understand why so many people have to be on their cell phone in the grocery store. And everywhere else. How does anyone have that much to say?
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from May 2019. Angel Prancie was posing with my stuffed Garfields. I thought this was a good choice being that The Garfield movie comes out this weekend.

  1. Good fill ins and 😎 cool picture of Angel Prancie. I didn’t know about the Garfield movie, sounds like fun! XO

  2. Excellent fill-ins! We are constantly wondering about humans constantly using cell phones all the time in our neighborhood. Parents are out with their babies in strollers while walking their family dog as well and don’t pay attention to either of them. What the dog?!
Have a good Memorial Day weekend.
    Your fur-iends,
Elsa & Wilson, the House Pony 🐾

    1. Parents on cell phones really irk me- they should be enjoying their kids- they grow up so fast. XO

  3. Messy may mean a-MAZING, or multi-tasker, or magnanamous…those girls are pretty special and yes what on earth do so many cellphone users have to say, haha? Good fill-ins, especially the blind date. YAY for your hubby, lucky man, and you, lucky woman.

  4. I’m glad you had that blind date!!
Angel Prancie and her Garfields are cute!
I didn’t know about that new movie…maybe hubby and I should have a movie date??!

    1. My plans for the long weekend include hopefully taking down our old shed, so that the squirrels will have to find a new abode, LOL!!.
    2. My hubby is the messiest person I know. He has never learned the rule that he should put sti=uff back where it came from when he’s done with it…
    3. I can’t thank my first music teacher enough for helping me to learn the violin, and taking me to many concerts, just him and his wife and I…with my parents blessing of course…I miss him a lot. He was almost like another dad for me..
    4. I don’t understand why so many people hate classical music, and instead want to listen to loud raucus so called music…its got to ruin their ears if I can hear it in my car with the windows closed. And if you can understand what the words are saying they are terribly degrading, and lewd even.

I hope you have a nice long weekend. Our sons used to help decorate graves at the National Veterans cemetery we have close to here. (Fort Custer National Cemetery) (They were in Young Marines)

    1. Thank you, me too. We haven’t been to a theatre since 2015. Thanks for these great answers. Sounds like a great music teacher to inspire. True about music. I don’t listen to classical, but I don’t like new stuff either. How kind of your sons. XO

  5. First off, Happy Belated 10 Years’ Blogoversary, Ellen! Angel Prancie’s Garfield pose is the best. That’s cool that you and hubby started out as a blind date. I don’t think that happens too often. Enjoy your weekend!!

  6. People on cell phones in the grocery is a thing these days. I don’t know if it is because people can’t stand to be alone without someone to talk to about something or anything or what. SSNS and I were shopping in the Publix last week and watched a man with his phone on speaker shopping while his wife was on her phone yelling at him about what to buy down every aisle of the store. He was totally distracted and oblivious to everybody around him.
    Angel Prancie♥
    My Fill-Ins-
    1. My plans for the long weekend include trying to stay cool and eating good food with friends.
    2. The Mom of one of my best friends from way back in kindeegarten was the messiest person I know.
    3. I can’t thank Dr. Mertz enough for strongly encouraging me to have my cataracts removed. My world is filled with color and things I haven’t seen in years.
    4. I don’t understand why so many people are totally clueless to the feelings of others these days. It really just comes down to being kind.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. Maybe get a grouper sandwich this weekend? Glad your vision has improved. XO

  7. What a great photo with the Garfield Stuffies. The very first movie they made I bought the VHS tape. It was so funny I watched it over and over for years.

  8. Boy, I’ll tell you! That fill-in about talking on the phone on the store is really resounding with me! These people seem demented as they walk along with an occasional (or constant) stream of verbiage!

  9. Sweet pic of Angel Prancie with her Garfield friends.
My weekend plans are to do a thorough cleaning of the kitchen.
My hubby is a scatterer. He never puts anything away.
I can’t thank my hubby enough for painting our entire apartment.
I ditto your answer to #4.

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Kuddos to you for cleaning your kitchen. Mine needs it bad , especially the stove. XO

  10. 1. My plans for the long weekend include staying at home with hubby and the kitties. We don’t care to be out on three day weekends anymore.
    2. Squeaker is the messiest person (kitten) I know. She spreads her toys out all over the house several times a day.
    3. I can’t thank applying for deputy sheriff enough for me meeting Zane. He was a sergeant at the time (1978) and was in charge of my background investigation.
    4. I don’t understand why so many people live on hate and darkness. Life if full of wonderful things.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥

    1. Thank you for these great answers. We only go to the cemetery Memorial Day weekend,. nowhere else. I am glad you found your perfect mate. XO

  11. Cute picture of Angel Prancie.

Great fill ins, especially #4. The worst is when they are on the cell phone on line at the store and don’t move up until they are finished with their conversation. People also talk so loud as if the rest of us can’t hear what they are saying.

Hope you have a good weekend!

  12. We’re so late to say Happy Blogoversary and so happy to know you, to share with you and have you as part of our life over all these years! YAY for Ellen and all her kitties! For today, another YAY, we too met hubby on a blind date … and one of my ‘pet peeves’ is all the cell conversations, and loud ones in public places, ugh! Happy Holiday weekend to you and yours.

  13. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! I love that you take flowers to loved ones’ graves. My loved ones who have passed on are buried a couple hours away, though I really should make the trip more often. And you are so right with #4. I certainly use my phone plenty, but I never understand why I see people staring at their phone in stores, while walking in nature, and that sort of thing. And it’s so nice to see beautiful Angel Prancie! Purrs!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 All my loved ones are buried right in town which makes it easy. XO

  14. Your friend was a great judge of character.

It’s amazing how much some people can talk, and for hours about absolutely nothing.

Angel Prancie is beautiful. I had no clue there would be still another Garfield movie. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!

    1. Thank you. Yes, despite a 15 yr age difference, she knew we were compatible. xO

  15. I enjoy your fill-ins SO much. 😀 As for movies, there have been few we want to see, especially in theater. But in a rare situation there are two (not one, but two!) sequels we anticipate. One is “Deadpool and Wolverine” and also “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”. It’s much lighter faire than “Sound of Freedom”, for sure, though I don’t regret viewing it. Be well!

    1. Thank you. 🙂 I want to see the new Beetlejuice. 🙂 We haven’t been to a theater since 2015. I prefer to stay home so I can pause to go potty. XO

  16. Those were all great fill ins and we so agree with the 4th answer. We don’t understand why they bring out their phone anyway, Granny thinks the old fashion way. When she’s home, she answers the phone and when she’s somewhere else they have to ‘phone home’…😸😺Extra double Pawkisses for a Happy Memorial Weekend🐾😽💞

  17. Chaplin: “Hello, Angel Prancie, nice to see you and your little orange friends!”
Charlee: “There’s a Garfield movie out now? Do you think Dada will take us to see it?”

    1. Thank you. 🙂 Yes, that is why I posted this. Maybe wait for the dvd. 🙂
