Friendly Fill-Ins Week 198

Time for the Friendly Fill-Ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link ( see below) to the hop so everyone can visit you.

1..I won’t pay more than ________________ for __________________.

2. The last ______________ I ____________________ was ______________.

3. I recently had the opportunity to _________.
4. _________ is cause for celebration.
My answers:
1. I won’t pay more than $2.50 for a cup of coffee. Even that amount annoys me. Starbucks can keep their expensive crap. ( Sorry , it irks me that people spend so much on their coffee).
2. The last movie I saw at the theater was Star Trek. 2016. Not even Nic Cage has had anything worth going out to see.
3. I recently had the opportunity to play picks up sticks. It was just as fun as I remember it.
4. A good report from the veterinarian is cause for celebration.
We are also joining Create With Joy’s Friendship Friday and Feline Friday currently hosted by Comedy Plus.
Next week is the Jewish holiday Purim. Rosie will be wearing the Queen Esther costume
( if it fits her).
Here is a photo of Angel Phoebe from 2105. .

  1. I think Rosie will make a wonderful Queen Esther!

1..I won’t pay more than the best sale price for items I just want but don’t really need…

    2. The last I had influenza I was over 3 years ago:)
    3. I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a dinner with just me and hubby…doesn’t happen very often….
    4. Good medical reports for both peeps and furs alike are cause for celebration.

    1. Thank you for these great answers. I am glad you had a nice dinner with the hubby. XO

  2. Meowser Ms. Ellen. Great answers, though I will never understand how coffee can smell so interesting and taste so awful…. at least to me…. Katsu likes it, but he likes a lot of very strange things.
Thank you for hosting this blog hop.

  3. I agree about the coffee. We never get it from the big chains but always look out the small local coffee shops wherever we are.
Occasionally it is as expensive, but always so much better, and with friendlier service too.

  4. Great fill-ins this week gang! We think Rosie will look very regal (and cute) in the Queen Esther costume. Hope you have a nice Friday and weekend ahead!

    Hugs, Teddy

  5. Ellen,

I’ve always been amazed how people will spend $5+ on a daily basis for a cup of coffee that they can make at home for a fraction of the cost Starbucks charges. As long as people are willing to pay those high prices, SB and other gourmet coffee shops will stick it to ya. I think you can get a large cup of coffee at McDonald’s still for 99 cents. It’s not fantastic either but it’s tons cheaper than SB! We rarely buy coffee out. The last time we went to a theater to see a movie was 1990. From the time we became parents in 1988 until now our movie viewing initially started off with weekend rentals (old VHS tapes – remember those?) progressing to streaming content. I much prefer the later. The best part of any of this is, it’s done in the comfort of my home where I can get my snacks and take bathroom breaks anytime throughout the movie without missing a thing. I haven’t played any kind of physical games in years. I guess the last thing I remember playing is Backgammon with DH. That was always a lot of fun, too. 🙂 We should get back to doing that…well, he usually wins so there’s no rush. lol Have a good weekend and thanks for hosting the Friday fun, my dear!

    1. I prefer staying in too.Mcd’s is $1.50 now, but still cheaper than any other place. Have a great weekend! XO

  6. I’ve never been big on seeing movies in a theater. But I get dragged along every so often 🙂 I completely agree with the good report from the vet – it seems like these days, my mood is completely dependent on how Bear’s acting that day.

    1. I know how that is. We rode a roller coaster of emotions with Prancie and Millie for months. XO

  7. Adorable photo! Yes, coffee can be expensive to buy each day. I like to save money by making my coffee at home. I agree that a good report from the vets is cause to celebrate. I took Teddy there a few days ago for his exam and was just waiting for her to find something wrong. For the past few years it’s always been bad news with the cats. I was shocked to hear her say that he’s in great health.
    Have a great day Ellen!

    1. My husband and I don’t go to Starbucks stores to have coffee. We buy Starbucks ciffee beans at Walmart and make our coffee and drink it at home.

  8. I mostly drink coffee at home and enjoy the Folgers brand. However, when out and around, I will pay the prices for a latte, frappuccino, or some sort of fancy coffee. I enjoy Starbucks for coffee and with that said I also like coffee at McDonald’s when we are traveling.

  9. Angel Phoebe made such a beautiful queen.

Love all your answers and I hadn’t thought about how expensive coffee is. I’ve not had coffee out for a very long time. We never go to Starbucks.

Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-ins.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

  10. That costume was made for Angel Phoebe! Totally agree with #4. TW loves that our DD has been having cappuccinos for $2 since December cos she likes espresso better than regular coffee which she can make at home. She only buys them when they’re on sale.

  11. guyz…we iz sorree yur mom iz knot feelin good; hope her getz better sooper soon & sooper quik ~~~~ 😉 ♥♥

” Not even Nic Cage has had anything worth going out to see.”

  12. Great fill ins. For a long time Star Trek had been my last movie in the theater too. Recently we’ve been going back to the movies. They haven’t been as good as ST, though 🙂

Definitely agree about the price of coffee. It’s crazy.

    Have a great weekend!

  13. I can’t remember the last time I went to a movie theater…haven’t watched movies much for many years.
I total agree with the answer # 4!

  14. The Hubby would have to disagree with you about coffee; it’s only the best for him! Hot as lava, dark as sin, and Starbucks never disappoints him. I, on the other hand, take a sip of his coffee and YUCK! So, I get a nice cup of hot tea, use the free wifi, and enjoy a brief respite from the busy day. Oh yeah, we use the bathroom too…LOL!

  15. Coffee from Starbucks is very tasty, but I refuse to pay their prices as well.
Here’s to many more good vet reports!
    Have a great weekend!

  16. I can’t even remember the last time I went to the movies! I’d much rather sit comfortably at home, but we rarely watch movies anymore even at home. I have a short attention span and can’t sit any longer than maybe a one hour TV show. 🙂

  17. Fantastic fill-ins, as always! I don’t even drink coffee and Starbucks nevertheless annoys me. I can’t believe how much they charge for a drink that could be made for much cheaper at home. And you are so right about #4. Every time I go to the vet with a kitty or pup I feel nervous until I get good news. And I can’t wait to see sweet Rosie as Queen Esther. Angel Phoebe was gorgeous royalty!

  18. Great fill-ins. ~hugs~ We like the “Deadpool” movies and anything that honors war veterans, like “1917” (not for the faint of heart). Be well, and I hope all vet visits go well in future for a long time.

  19. I can’t understand spending so much for coffee either, even though I’m addicted to it. I used to stop at a local coffee shop on my way to work each day where a cup was a couple dollars, but now we have a Keurig at work and I use a reusable K-cup and love how much I save!

  20. Thank you so much for the flashback photo of sweet Phoebe. Good vet reports definitely are reasons to celebrate. Wow, pick-up-sticks is really a blast from the past. Mom doesn’t drink coffee, but our dad is addicted. He makes it at home usually. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  21. I have to agree about coffee prices. I enjoy going out for coffee or tea but it can really add up if you spend a lot.

  22. I won’t pay a dime for a cup of coffee. I hate the taste and smell. The last time I held a cup of coffee, it was at a high school football game to keep my hands warm, LOL!

The last movie I saw in a theater was ‘AntZ’ when it was new. Sticky floors, loud viewers, no volume control, bad bathrooms, expensive snacks, and no pause button. ;). Now I just wait for free cable.

My Dad was a demon at pick-up sticks. His fingers were very steady. And, as an engineer, anything structural was his forte’.

Good vet visits are always good.

    1. Thanks for these great answers. I thought everyone liked the smell of coffee 🙂
I prefer movies at home too , especially for pause because i hate staying still for so long.
Glad you have fond memories of pick up sticks. I drink too much coffee so I am shaky.
