Cat vomiting – a hairy subject

Happy Tuesday loyal readers. Today is medical day and I am going to discuss a hairy subject. That would be hairballs, every cat owner is more familiar with them than they want to be. There has been many a morning I woke up to the sound of a gagging cat several hours before the alarm went off. I am ashamed to admit it, but when a cat is vomitting on the bed, I will try to catch it so I don’t have to wash the comforter. Admit it, I bet you have done the same. David is great and reaches for tissues and has in fact also ” caught the vomit”.
Cats vomitting can be a serious matter. If your cat vomits every day or several times a week then a trip to the vet is in order. Vomitting can be caused by food allergies or constipation to kidney or liver failure. Here is a link to  a great health resource  http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/vomiting. Most of the time it is from a hairball though being that cats are always cleaining themselves. Long haired cats are especially prone to them, I think that is why Snowball doesn’t like to clean herself. Every time she sees antoher cat taking a bath, she tries to force her to bather her: 002Here she is with Phoebe, the only one willing to help her out once in a while. Have a nice day! I will be having a contest soon- I welcome prize suggestions ( reasonably priced 🙂 ).

    1. I wish I had time to brush all 15 cats’ teeth, actually 14 as poor Snowball’s reabsorbed.
