Book Review: How to Live an Extraordinary Life

Hi everyone. I have a Netgalley book review for you today. How to Live an Extraordinary Life by Anthony Pompliano is an excellent book.

*Disclaimer: I received a digital copy in exchange for a fair review. All opinions are my own.

The author wrote 65 letters to his children, Sophia and Leo filled with advice for their future. This isn’t one of those books where someone is dying and wants to leave behind their wisdom. This is just a sweet dad that wanted to write down all that he has learned so far in life to share with his kids who are still quite young, definitely not old enough to appreciate all this wisdom.

Most of it is just plain common sense, but so many people don’t use that. It is nice to have a reminder. For example, he explains how he is glad he didn’t meet their mom when he was younger because he wasn’t ready for a committed relationship. Other relationships led him down the right path and made him more compassionate.

One tip I really liked that everyone can learn from is to not waste anyone’s time. I can’t stand those kind of people- you know, the ones you bump into at the grocery store and they hold you hostage for a half an hour. My husband has a cousin that does that at wakes, holding up the line until it is out the door.

I highly recommend this book for everyone. It is filled with wonderful advice. I wish every parent would do write a book like this for their kids.

And now, the awww…portion of the program.  We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays

My sweet little Dusty is modeling another dress.

Rosie will be here tomorrow with two weeks’ worth of complaints gossip.

  1. Rosy you are a sweet posy! A little flower in your mama’s garden of kitties. Thank you for the review, mama is ordering it.

  2. Dusty sure is a wonderful and sweet model!! She seems to enjoy it.

That sounds like a good read. I gave my younger son a book ‘My Letters To A Young Man’.
This was written in the 1600’s!!!! But still pertinent today. Esp when it comes to life decisions…

  3. I just really get aggravated when total strangers decide they can yak their head off and I’m supposed to listen. Dusty you have really taken to being a model, you look beautiful this morning.

  4. That sounds like a book worth reading with good advice. Dusty, I see a future in modeling for you. You’re such a good little poser.

  5. Dusty, you look cool and sweet in your dress! You are made to model!
People who trap you in the grocery should make a mental point to call you and catch up instead. Much better for both of you.

  6. I have a few friends that “hold me hostage” especially on the phone. God bless email. Quick and easy. You never have too much common sense.

    1. Dusty thanks you. I hate the phone and basically only talk to my mom or niece on it. XO

  7. Dusty is most adorable. All dressed up.

I love this book. Looks like a must read. What a wonderful thing to do for your kids.

  10. Dusty is just a doll! What a darling. Yep sometime people do not think before speaking and taking time while others are stuck waiting. Book sounds great. I always enjoy a good read. THANK YOU my friend.

  11. Writing advice letters to our kids for when they are older is a great idea.

Dusty, thank you for modeling, you are beautiful and so is the dress.

  12. This book sounds lovely and one I think I’d enjoy very much. How sweet that a dad thought to do such a thing! I hope the children grow up one day to appreciate the sentiments in each letter. Dusty is sitting pretty!
