Hi everyone! Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day so our only selfie is of Trouble.

And for some fun we are going to have a contest open to everyone.

Trouble is currently our only black cat, but as long time readers know, we have had several. Try to list as many as you remember. I will give you a hint, there were 5 others. Whoever guesses them all correctly wins and in the event of more than one of you guessing, we will pull names to get the winner. If no one gets them all, we will pick whoever gets the closest. And the winner will get a $10 Amazon gift card.

Contest ends Tuesday 9PM ( EST) -winner will be announced on Wednesday’s post.

  1. Beautiful picture of Trouble! Well, my recall isn’t what it used to be! I remember your black and white cat named Emmy from your wonderful picture book, I Am Not A Skunk. That’s about as close as I can get right now though. I find nowadays that I’m glad I wrote some things down. Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day to all! XO

    I truly don’t understand why in this day and age so many peeps are leery of these lovable and ordinary cats…no different than any other kitty! All the black cats I have know were fun and sweet kitties!

  9. It’s your day, Trouble … so live up to it! We might be a spoiler on this game, so won’t play. Have a file for 15 and Meowing, probably of “all” your kitties going back like 10-15 years … yup, we’d spoil the game …

  10. Trouble is looking very handsome. I looked down my Rainbow Bridge pages at all the black cats. I was surprised at how few there were! I think I have them in order of passing with the latest first, but I did have trouble (small t!) with Blogger a while back messing things around, so the order could be totally wrong.

  14. I haven’t followed you long enough to know them all. I’ve had 2 black cats and both were….umm….trouble for sure! Loved them both though. Jake and Lacy both RIP. Sasha is a tux and she may be even more naughty than the blacks.
