Awww…Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Monday.

Joanie is an expert at multi-tasking. She is steering Rosie’s boat and posing with the book I am reading.

This is an old one(1977) that I got from the library, A Funny Thing Happened to Me on My Way to the Grave by Jack Douglas. He was a comedian and wrote for The Jack Parr ( for you youngins, he hosted The Tonight Show before Carson.  It is a nice change of pace to read about the 1940’s-60’s. And all the people he knew in Hollywood is interesting. For example, when he had a house fire, Lucy and Desi Arnaz (neighbors) brought over some soup. Kind of an odd choice of food, but interesting to read.

What are you reading?

  1. Mama is reading The Diary of Mattie Spencer by Sandra Dallas who wrote The Persian Pickle Club. Love this author, mama says to tell you.

  2. Cute photo, and that book sounds interesting.

  3. My Mom remembers Jack Parr – that book your Mama is reading is probably super fun!! Glad the boat is still float-worthy…..didn’t it have some serious “injuries” your Mama was going to have to repair?????

    Hugs, Teddy

  4. I remember hearing the Jack Parr show when I was little and my dad would come home from the second shift and turn on TV. I’m currently reading a very good novel that is about true love and the spirit that it must be given in.

  5. Rosie…you are a catalog cats! And always dependable.

Mom said she is reading a book of three novella which is something she usually doesn’t do…read novellas. It is written for young adults and it is darned good!

  6. We has to put on da reader-glasses, but then we’ll open up OPEN THROAT about a very big old cat who lives up in the hills by the Hollywood sign… but mine Mommy doesn’t let me read some parts of it … ? … I don’t know why. Do you? Happy Monday all.

  7. Just started a new-to-me series: Clovenhoof, about Satan getting kicked out of Hades, and is now living in a suburb of Birmingham, UK. It’s hilarous! Am listening to the audiobooks.
