Aww…Mondays

Hi everyone. We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays .

Hi everyone. I finally have some good books to tell you about. I read several weekly, but only tell you about the really good ones. Dusty is posing with this week’s selections.

The Ghost Lab: How Bigfoot Hunters, Mediums and Alien Enthusiasts are Wrecking Science by Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling is really interesting.  I had not heard of it, but when I saw it on the library table with the new books, I couldn’t resist. I have an open mind to their being truth in claims of paranormal activity and clearly many others do too. I don’t think they are wrecking science, I believe there are a lot of things out there we can’t prove, but could happen, like ghosts-I draw the line at aliens though. 🙂

Among Grizzlies: Living with Wild Bears in Alaska by Timothy Treadwell is an incredible book. The author lived 13 summers with grizzlies to study them, photograph them and protect them from hunters. He had a deep bond with them and rarely had bad encounters. He wrote about how they lived peacefully with other creatures, including him. The book was written in 1997 so it is not the total of the 13 years. Sadly, he was killed by a bear along with his girlfriend in 2003 while filming a documentary. I still believe they don’t mean harm to us and should not be killed by hunters.

Rosie will be here tomorrow, and she has a lot to complain about, as usual.

  1. I do believe in paranormal occurrences, especially extrasensory perception and the spirit world. You have piqued my interest this morning, Ellen! It’s nice you have Dusty for a helper for your book reviews.

  2. Interesting books, and I believe in paranormal activity. That’s a cute pic of Dusty, and I look forward to Rosie’s juicy gossip tomorrow.

  3. Both interesting reads, but the last one is the one I would read first.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the kitties and a hug to mom. ♥

  4. Thanks for the recommendations. I too am an avid reader and do believe in the paranormal. And I absolutely love bears. What a shame Treadwell and his girlfriend lost their lives. It is fortunate he was able to publish the book prior to that happening. 5. Many unexplainable happenings in the world….I think you would like the book, Buckeye. Brilliant book….and a character who is a see-er…

  6. Those books look good. The look into the Ghost Lab especially. Very true there are things we have no concrete proof about, but it’s still interesting. That Grizzly Bear one, sounds so sad in the end. I do believe I heard of this. Some animals are just not able to be domesticated. Good to research and protect wildlife though.

  7. If there are aliens, they’re smart enough to stay away from us.

    Dusty always poses so beautifully.

  9. Chaplin: “Hmm, is it just me, or does that ‘Ghost Lab’ book with the aliens and ghosts and Bigfoot sound like an accounting of Dennis’s adventures from back in the day?”
    Charlee: “It’s not just you.”
