A Hopping Monday

Hi everyone! We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww. .. Mondays, McGuffy’s Reader’s Sparks and Curious as a Cathy Mewsic Moves Me Blog Hops. Once again, I am skipping the book hop because I haven’t read anything this week worth writing about.

The Mewsic theme this week is TV or Movie theme songs. There are so many that I love, it was tough to narrow it down.

  1. Laverne and Shirley Theme Song ( I used to love this show. My friend and I would pretend to be them, I always wanted to be Shirley). Even as a child, I loved their optimism.

2. Family Ties Theme Song. I loved this show when I was in high school.

3. Fame

4. My all-time favorite-The Nanny. I used to have my own version for KaChoo.

And here is my Spark- Keep Calm and Sing Soft Kitty. It isn’t a theme song, but it is on Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon often.

Emmy wants me to remind everyone they have until Tuesday 9PM EST to enter her Dr. Seuss Giveaway. Just comment on yesterday’s post to enter.

  1. Great Spark, and great song selection. Soft Kitty is a favorite of mine as well. I always loved the Fame song. Who wouldn’t want to live forever? I have never been afraid to die, but I think about all the things, like new inventions, I’ll miss. Silly, I guess. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    1. I love it too, but my great-niece tells me to stop when I try to sing it to her 🙁 I am not afraid to die, I am afraid of those I love dying though. XO

  2. You enjoy the shows that Petcretary didn’t mind seeing either…when she had the time:)
Too bad a lot of shows these days are not that (wholesome) fun.
Young Sheldon reminds me so much of a nurse I work with, MOL! She started there doing the same work as I do, just out of highschool, younger than my boys. Now sometimes she is my ‘boss’ for the shift – Hah! I love t= working with her, she is truly caring. She married one of the other nurses here…and they are both students going for their RN’s.

    1. I like shows like that, but they are hard to find. That is funny that a nurse reminds you of Young Sheldon 🙂 XO

  3. Ellen,

Fabulous TV show mewsic themes! All of these bring back some good memories, especially “Laverne & Shirley” and “Family Ties”. You know, we have yet to watch “The Big Bang Theory”. I’ve heard it’s a good show. The “Soft Kitty” scene put a big smile on my face. Men need their mamas when they are sick and when she’s not around the closest woman (usually the wife) assumes her role. lol Thanks for hitting the dance floor with the 4M gang and fabulous, fun ‘SPARKS’!

    1. I think you would love The Big Bang Theory 🙂 Thank you for hosting, I am enjoying the Mewsic Moves Me.

  4. I love your song selections! Laverne and Shirley was such a funny show, and Fame was one of my favorites when I was a teen. Have a great day! 🙂

  5. What a fun post! Laverne and Shirley and Family ties were both favourites of mine. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since those shows were playing.

  6. Well, I sent a long reply but I guess it didn’t go thru. Rats.
    Anyway, loved the post.

  7. The “good old days” of TV……!! As for your spark today – “Soft Kitty” is a sweet song…..and reminds me (as if I needed reminding!) there nothing soothes like a purring and soft cat by my side. Happily I have one!

    Hugs, Pam

  8. Well, these theme songs bring back memories! I used to watch reruns of all of these when I was a kid. And I love your Spark! Today our housemate Toby shared 18 facts about himself, and he mentions “Soft Kitty”. Purrs!

  9. It’s fun hearing all the old tv themes again. Laverne and Shirley was a good one. It’s nice that all the old shows are on YouTube although I don’t let her watch them.

  10. It’s funny how the themes to shows and movies have engrained themselves into our memories and in a way become themes in our lives too! We can even remember all the jingles that advertised products on tv long ago. 🙂

I love your Spark… learning to calm ourselves, and to keep calm in situations that are emotionally charged and volatile is one of the healthiest things we can do. Lord knows it isn’t easy, we tend to be reactionary! But if we can learn to slow down those knee-jerk responses and breathe slowly, we can find our place of calm in the middle of a storm, and things will be so much clearer to us then!
Have a blessed week ahead! XO

  11. Clearly, our Mom simply must get with the program, the TV program, that is. She reads instead of watching much TV. We guess that means she has no TV theme songs running through her head!

  14. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I loved Laverne and Shirley too their theme song always brought me to my feet to try to do the sidewalk dance but I failed miserably..two left feet Hugs Cecilia

  15. Wow, that was quite the blast from the past on TV show theme songs! I remember every one of them except the Big Bang, soft kitty. Thanks for the Monday smile!

  17. As far as my favorite tune it has to be “FAME”! It was also a great show too! I remember the Nanny… I could never watch the whole show because that woman’s voice would go right through me & drive me nuts. Kind of like nails scratchin on a blackboard!!! bwahahaha You have rocked the house & thanks for rockin’ along with us today! Hope to see you next week too!!! BIG HUGS

  18. What a wonderful post and thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories with those theme shows. I loved all of them but especially Family Ties and The Nanny.
I love that you chose soft kitty as your spark – I’m a huge Big Bang fan and this often gets stuck in my head.
    Have a wonderful week Ellen.

  19. When we turned off cable, we didn’t see any Big Bang Theory eps, until voila, we discovered a channel that we’d missed, and now we catch up on the show often. It’s hilarious, but they need to show more cats…am I right?

  20. Soft kitty is one of our favorites! Our mommy watched Laverne & Shirley reruns when she was a kid but now she doesn’t remember much about the show. Guess it was a long time ago!

  21. What a fun 4M post! I forgot all about The Nanny! That was a funny show and the theme song is cute, plus the video was always cool to watch. I loved Fran Drescher too. Her cousin Aviva Dresher ended up being one of the Real Housewives of New York a few years ago. She got on my nerves though. I like Fran much better…

Loved Laverne & Shirley! So long ago that was. But that theme song never gets old…

Family Ties was another show I used to watch off and on. I can’t remember the years it was on but it sure did launch Michael J. Fox’s career. He’s an inspiration for sure.

Never really watched The Big Bang Theory but my friend John is an avid fan. He watches it and all the reruns. It cracks him up all the time.
I gotta say, Soft Kitty is new to me. Funny clip!

Great 4M post! Glad you’re dancing along with us now…
