Hi everyone!  We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  We are thankful for all the purrs and prayers for my Dad. And thankful that his blood clot was caught in time. His appointment went well, he doesn’t need surgery, but he needs to take blood thinners forever. I am also thankful that my Grammie has spent a lot of time with us this week.

I wrote my poem about her for Sammy’s Poetry Day, featuring the letter G.

Grammie
You all know I love Grammie lots
she is always in my thoughts.
My Grammie is very sweet
and she is always upbeat.
My Grammie is the best.
Now lets start that test.

    I don’t know the answers to the questions to #2 and #4, so I hope someone else can get them all right!

  3. Good luck to everyone on the test! We aren’t sure about a few of the answers ourselves! We are so happy to hear your Daddy is ok and that there is something doctors can do about his condition and that they caught it in time. We also have a friend who takes blood thinners and she is doing really well on them! 🙂

    We heard petcretary say she was glad there was no surgery needed…and those meds are not too horrible..and they do help! Lots of peeps take blood thinners:)

  6. I’m not going to win but here are my answers: 18, ?, 26, ?, 200+. I’m thankful your hunby doesn’t need surgery. My grandmama takes blood thinners everyday, too. she has to get her blood checked every week or so and to make she doesn’t eat too many greens. Thank goodness for modern medicine!!

    1. Thank you. Your Grandmama should ask for Eliquis, it isn’t as harsh and you don’t need weekly blood tests. XO

  7. So happy to hear that your Dad doesn’t need surgery – that blood thinner stuff sounds like a better alternative to surgery for sure!!! I know you’re relieved and I’m SURE your Mom is too! Some of your questions sound FAMILIAR from that other test Phoebe…….!!!!!!!! I love your Grammie poem – she’s lucky to have you and you’re lucky to have her…..

  9. I am so glad your husband’s clot was caught early and that he doesn’t require surgery, Ellen. We’ll keep up the purrs and prayers for him!

    Now, as for the quiz…

    2. Polar Bear (Polar Bear’s a polydactyl, right?
    3. Cats have 30 teeth.
    4. Snowball? (Snowball has very few teeth, right? Or is it no teeth? And both Phoebe and Sammy have had teeth removed, didn’t they? I feel like I should know this!)

    Whew, that was tough. I feel horrible when I can’t remember facts about furry furiends that I thought I knew so well! Well, purrs to all of you, and we’ll see you tomorrow for these fantastic fill-ins!

  13. Yay for no surgery. Our Dad was on blood thinners forever. They took him off when he had chemo and haven’t put him back but we think that might be coming. We took the quiz onine so we are not going to do answers here.

  18. Phoebe, those are some challenging questions and we don’t know all the answers so we look forward to learning them. That tea-theme is so cute. The lady is a big tea drinker, but we were fortunate to win your give-away at Christmastime so we don’t want to be greedy. You make a great model by the way.

    I didn’t know about your dad but I’m very relieved to hear that he is okay. That sounds scary.

    1. Thank you for doing the quiz and for your great fill-in answers. I especially like your #4 answer. Hubby is on a fairly new medicine-Eliquis so I don’t think they have that for cats.

  25. That is wonderful news about your Dad! I am so happy he doesn’t have to have surgery. I have been on a blood thinner since 2005 when I got a cardiac stent. I love how much you love your Grammie… very sweet! Tell your Mom I am struggling with the book… 🙂

  27. Phoebe, be careful not to scratch or bite your daddy cos he’ll bleed a lot. Aunt Pauline had a blood clot that went from her hip down to her ankle a few years ago but only had to take blood thinners for a year.

    1. I have seen mice on Broadway. TW hasn’t been to a play in years. She did see the Clash and Lou Reed on Broadway though.
    2. My Chinese zodiac sign is I dunno. Guess I will have to look it up.
    3. Celebrities are doing us a favor when they protest the celebrity in the White House.
    4. A sunny day is impossible to find so far this year.

    1. Thank you for your great answers CK. My hubby’s blood clot goes all the way down like that too, but this is his second time getting one so he has to take meds forever.

    2. Polar Bear has more claws because he is polydactyl.
    3. Cats have twenty-six “milk teeth”, and thirty adult teeth.
    4. I believe Snowball has had tooth resorption.
    5. Cats can make OVER 100 vocalizations!
