It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Hi everyone! I have finally been able to catch up om some reading so we can join Book Date’s It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Blog Hop. We are also joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays.

I was so excited to see Cattastic Crafts: DIY Projects for Cats and Cat People by Mariko Ishikawa, but it was a disappointment. I am always finding fun things to make on Pinterest ( click for my board with 110 projects) that are superior to these crafts. I also found many to be unsafe for cats because of ribbons and felt pieces.

I am also reading Best Friends, Occasional Enemies : The Lighter Side of Life as Mother and Daughter by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella. This book was published in 2011,but I have read 2 other books of theirs that are newer and just as funny. Mom and daughter take turns writing, each story is only a few pages long, but most are very funny. And I love that they are animal lovers and even take in an elderly neighbor’s cat when he passed away.

I also had time to watch a dvd, hubby and I both loved Nine Lives. Kevin Spacey plays a man that ends up in a cat’s body.

Brody thinks he resembles Mr. Fuzzypants.

  1. I’ve just begun A Hiss-tory of Magic by Harper Lin … and I’m pleased to report that a cat was reported present on the first page…. I mention that because the book I recently finished was Cat Killed a Rat – a Ponderosa Pines cozy mystery, which I assumed would have a cat as a character. Alas, no cat was even mentioned in the initial 80% of the novel. That said, it’s a nice little book, but I really was expecting a more catish story.

    1. I agree, even the little bells are not safe.
Brody says thank you, he hopes Leia thinks he is handsome.

  2. It sounds like whoever wrote that book really isn’t all that cat savvy… which should have disqualified her from writing the book in the first place.

  3. Suck up … err … Brody … you are much more handsome than that FluffyPants guy (sorry Phoebe). I watched it with my niece and nephew and they LOVED it … so it was well worth it 🙂

  4. Brody…well you do look sort of like that kitty…but we think we like you as Brody!!
At this time the only reading happening here is nothing!! Well, blogs:)
Oh and cookbooks for paleo/primal recipes…

Those kitty toys…so called may be more of toys that should become knickknacks…but who wants to spend time making those??
Pipo & Minko still love to play with the crocheted toys made and sent by you, Miss Ellen!

    1. I need to start looking into Paleo for our health, but I love carbs and sugar so much. I am glad Pipo and Minko are still enjoying their toys. XO

  5. Lots of reading going on at your house! Brody looks like one happy cat that’s for sure….I think he knows just how lucky he was that your Mom invited him INSIDE forever.

    Love, Angel Sammy

  6. I really appreciate your honesty about the craft book. The second sounds truly fun and delightful, though! Although I haven’t gotten around to it yet, I can’t wait to watch Nine Lives. It sounds like a fun watch, and like it stars quite the handsome Brody look-a-like!

  7. A wise crafter would have done better than to include things that can be a potential choking hazard in the book. Maybe you should write one!

  8. And look at all the awww. That’s my favorite part of Mondays. All the awww’s.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. My best to your wonderful mom. ☺

  9. We recently watched Nine Lives too, and found it to be a cute movie. We liked that they didn’t feed the cat any dry food!

  10. Mom finds pinterest a very inspiring place. I think she forget sometimes that she only has one house and 3 cats (and 1 interim) but she is pinning like crazy. Now the same with her crochet, she buys books and magazines and it stacking up with bookmarks in it with stuff she wants to do, no she just has to find the time and no she can’t use the TARDIS….

    1. I am the same way with Pinterest, I want to do everything. You could be nice and let her use your TARDIS 🙂

    1. The lady has 4 which were in the book, she is lucky they haven’t eaten the ribbons off the toys.

  11. I got the DVD from the library to watch this weekend but my DVD player broke before I could watch it!! I’ll have to check it out later.
