Friendly Fill-Ins Week 13

Hi everyone! Thank you for all your input on the allergy shots the other day. I start my shots next week, I will let you know how it goes.

Time for the friendly fill-ins, you can leave your answers in the comments if you want. Please try to visit everyone that links up, it is a great way to get to know one another. And as usual, my link will probably not work , but McGuffy’s Reader will have a working one.

  1. I am most proud of MY 23 YEAR MARRIAGE, I DON”T HAVE KIDS OR A CAREER, BUT WE HAVE A WONDERFUL MARRIAGE. I AM ALSO PROUD OF MY 28 YEAR OLD NIECE, SHE IS HAPPILY MARRIED WITH A CAREER AND A BEAUTIFUL 9 MONTH OLD GIRL. SHE IS ALSO AN ANIMAL LOVER WITH 2 CATS AND A DOG.
  2. I am embarrassed to admit THAT I WATCH GIRL MEETS WORLD ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL, I AM WAY TOO OLD FOR THAT, I WAS TOO OLD TO WATCH BOY MEETS WORLD WHEN THAT WAS ON TOO.

  1. I am happy for you & hubby, too! You are never too old to watch sweet TV shows. I am always spotting all kinds of critters when out in the car. It is fun to do. I understand #4. I wish I could, too. HUGS!

    1. Thank you 🙂 I think all of us cat bloggers feel the same on #4, there are so many poor cats in need.XO

  2. I think it is great that you have a steady marriage, too. 🙂
I agree with Annie, you’re never too old to watch good TV shows, no matter what age group they are aimed for. David and I love to watch My Little Pony and we watch the Hotel Transylvania II movie almost every day. If it is good and makes you happy, whose place is it to judge?
How cool that you can see the cats when the others don’t. I sometimes see things that nobody else sees, too. They probably think that I am nuts, but I am not. Cats are everywhere. 🙂
You might not be able to rescue every kitty that needs to be rescued, but I know that you make a huge difference to the ones that you are able to rescue.
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you, I am glad to know other adults enjoy kids’ shows. Thank you for your kind words about my rescued kitties. Hope you have a nice weekend too. 🙂

  3. As i told McGuffy Ann, it’s always nice to be able to do more for a cause, but i know you won’t let the things you cannot do stop you from doing what you can do. Have a great Friday!

  4. Great answers………..being married 23 years is a milestone these days for sure….congratulations! Also congratulations on being a cat mom to a lot of cats that you have rescued or otherwise provided homes for. You do a LOT – don’t forget that!

    Hugs, Pam

  5. I like Disney movies, too. … nothing wrong with that! In fact, I write my novels using the basic plot-points they grade prospective scripts on.

  7. The Hubby and I will celebrate 23 years in November…where has the time gone? You and I have the same power; to spot cats when no one else does. A woman stopped me once, while I was out on my neighborhood walk. She asked me if I was looking for a missing dog. I had NO idea what she was talking about, then she mentioned she saw me scanning everywhere, so she assumed I was looking for a lost dog. I told her, “Nope, I am just looking for cats!” She backed away at that, lol, and I always, ALWAYS look for cats. AND, I follow up when I find them, by asking neighbors if they know who’s cat that is, or when out of town, I’ve even called the local humane society!

    1. That is great that you follow up on cats you find in the neighborhood. I usually see cats with collars, but I am always worrying they are going to get run over. Congratulations on almost 23 years, that is great 🙂

  8. Rescuing animals is very noble. It is sad that here in Texas people are abandoning animals at the universities, of all places. They have enacted laws with very strict penalties for simply dropping off the animals on university property.

Texas A&M has a strict protocol. If you have an unwanted animal, you take it to the veterinary center and the animal will be evaluated and then given proper medical treatment by the vet students. Some of the animals are treated and allowed to roam the campus as school pets. They know when feeding time is and they come a runnin’ when it is food time.

Many students adopt these campus pets and feed them, too. It is sad that people will drive by the dorms and throw the animals out so they can book it on out of the campus. Campus police will be in hot pursuit and catch and fine most of them. These poor animals will get proper attention if taken to the right place. The University is a No Kill Zone and pet sanctuary.

    1. It breaks my heart to read that people are dumping them off, but I am glad the university is a sanctuary for them.

  9. Ellen, a steady marriage in today’s society is something to be real proud about and you’re 28 years going strong. So, congrats! DH & I celebrated our 37th anniversary in June. Mind you, I was a mere child bride of 17 when we tied the knot. This is definitely my proudest moment and yet I failed to mention it today. 🙁 Oh well, thanks for hosting the Friday fun!

    1. Congratulations on 37 years and it is more impressive knowing you were so young when you married, so many young marriages don’t last.

  10. 23 years is almost a quarter of a century together and that’s definitely something to be proud of! I have a niece that foster’s dogs for her rescue group, she’s awesome too! I think we sometimes need entertainment that is just for fun, not too heavy or dark, life has enough of that already! I am so in agreement with you on #4, I would love to operate a no-kill cat sanctuary, it breaks my heart to see cats and dogs without homes, decent care, or anyone to love them.

  11. Wonderful answers! We’re married for 29 years with no kids, just my beautiful kitties 🙂

I’m so with you on #4. I want to be more involved in rescuing.

    1. Kitties are the best 🙂 I would love to do more with rescue, but fear I would end up a hoarder.

  12. Teehee, #2 is too funny! I was on a call the other day for work and the person made a reference to Mr. Feeny. I thought, wait, you’re too old to know who that is! 🙂 I guess you’re never too old for anything! I used to watch Boy Meets World back in the day but I have yet to see Girl Meets World.

    1. That is funny 🙂 You should check out Girl Meets World, it is great and they brought in a lot of characters from the original like Cory’s parents and Sean.

  13. Oh awnty Ellen, we wish we could save every kitty dat needs savin’ too. ‘Magine a world where no kitty was in need.? Meow Purrrrrrr Hope ya’ll have a great weekend. Oh and good luck with da shots. Raena would tell ya’ to run far away from da needle.

    Luv ya’

    Dezi and Raena

  14. I just love your answers!! Your #1 is wonderful and I’m right there with you. I’ve been married almost 29 years.

Yes, a million times yes to #4.

    1. Thank you 🙂 Congratulations on 29 years! And I know all us cat bloggers feel the same on #4.

  15. Great answers! TW can spot cats that Pop can’t. She was supposed to get allergy shots years and years ago but read the reclaier she had to sign. It said not to get them if you take beta-blockers and she did.

  16. Mom and Dad are pretty proud of their 43 year marriage. She has found that those couples who don’t have children (she and dad don’t) seem to have longer lasting marriages…maybe less things to disagree about! I think we all wish we could rescue all the animals who need it. Mom and all of us are really enjoying the fill-ins. Thanks! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty may, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    1. WOW 43 years is fantastic and I agree , I have noticed that too 🙂 Although my hubby and I do fight a lot about cat care, he is a cheapo and insist on the best vet care.

    1. Thank you, I am glad you liked my answers. I know all us cat bloggers wish we could save them all, at least we try. XO

  17. Congrats on your 23 year marriage! That’s amazing! Also, love that your super power skill is seeing and finding cats that others miss – very important skill!
