Happy Saturday to everyone. Saturday is actually a day I dread now that hubby and I are taking yoga. I am hoping it doesn’t make me as grumpy as last week, we probably shouldn’t reward ourselves with McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches afterward either. The cats will be happy, Gramma is going to cat-sit for them. Our neighbor got robbed a year and a half ago as well as some people down the road so I am paranoid to leave the kitties alone. I am not worried about our stuff, but I am afraid that if a thief broke a window or a door to get in then the cats might run outside and get run over. I am fortunate that my Mom lives nearby and is willing to do this for us.
Today is product day and I am going to write about something that I hope all of us won’t need for a very, very long time. That is jewelry that you can put some ashes of your beloved kitty into. When my KaChoo passed away in 2010, I was inconsolable. I didn’t want to cremate her, but David made a good point that she was an indoor cat and wouldn’t want to be buried outside. We cremated her and I got a necklace to put some ashes into, the rest of her is in a box on her robe( she had taken over my robe) in the closet with all her toys.
There are several companies that make creation jewelry that you can find on Etsy and through a Google Search.
Sorry for the morbid topic, but that is the sad part of loving a pet. I would still rather love for the time we get them than to live a cat-less life. Enjoy your day and have some pity for me suffering through yoga.
Don’t forget to comment, if you did yesterday you are already entered to win some IKEA toy mice and a laser.
Awww. 🙁 It’s definitely hard to loose your kitty!
I think this is a wonderful way to have your beloved anipal with you always. Just discovered your blog and signed up to get new posts by e-mail so we can get to know you better. Hope you will stop by and meet us at http://www.thecatonmyhead.com. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
You can also have some of the ashes turned into diamonds. It does cost a few thousand dollars, but then so do most diamonds and you get to pick the color. They have clear, blue, red, yellow and green. The actual shade will depend on the unique chemical makeup of the ashes. If I ever happen to have a few grand hanging around I’m going to do it. I have the ashed from my first two (and so far only deceased) cats, Tiffany & Emma.
Thanks Loretta, I had never heard of that. Unfortunately, I don’t have a few grand just hanging around either.
