Hi everyone. Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.
1. Let’s bring back ______________________.
2. _______________is the new ______________________.
3. I appreciate that my local area _________.
4. _________ is my least favorite part about where I live.
My answers:
1. Let’s bring back paper printed catalogs. The only ones we get now are seed catalogs and not as many as we used to.
2. Donnie Wahlberg is the new Nicolas Cage in my book. As you all know, I have adored Nic for about 40 years. I must admit to now having a crush on Donnie Wahlberg. I never even noticed him until we started watching Boston Blue. Now we are bingeing Blue Bloods, a show I never was interested in the 14 years it ran.
3. I appreciate that my local area has a Walmart-about a mile and a half from my house.
4. Legalized marijuana is my least favorite part about where I live. I don’t like smelling it in parking lots.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from June 2020. Angel Joanie had a playdate at The Great One’s house.

Oh that’s adorable of Angel Joanie!XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Mama is going to look at Wahlburg, whom she does not know and also take a look at the series!
I think she will like him and the show. XO
I love perusing paper in my hands catalogues, too. I miss the big Sears ones.
We have a huge marijuana growing operation about a mile from our home…good thing we can’t smell it here…but it sure is an ugly place and a eyesore compared to the pretty farmland it used to be,
1. Let’s bring back all the basics of education, including art ands music which seem to have been tossed aside in recent years.
2. _______________is the new ______________________. Hmmm…my brain came up empty here…
3. I appreciate that my local area has a good symphony orchestra. They are one of the oldest continually playing orchestras in the country, and I think the oldest in Michigan.
4.Having to drive for several miles to the nearest good grocery store, and even further to a walmart is my least favorite part about where I live. (Everything regarding shopping or doctor vistis and so on seemsto become major events of the day…)
I miss the big Sears one too. Thank you for these great answers. I agree about #1. I am sick of the arts taking a back seat to sports. Glad you have a good orchestra. XO
Great filling in – I get TONS of paper catalogs – I’ve always assumed it’s because we do get LOTS of things via catalog ordering since we’re in a small town with few “shops” ! We have everything else we need right here in our town but no “department store”. Anyway, thanks for co-hosting Fill-ins – we always have tons of fun doing them!!
Hugs, Pam
You are lucky to get them. Thank you. 🙂 XO
Angel Joanie in a baby crib how sweet that was. Yes I’m with you I would love to have paper seed catalogs. We do have a Walmart here even though it’s a tiny one. And it’s our only choice for a lot of things.
Thank you. 🙂 You can go online to the seed companies and order free paper catalogs. XO
I love catalogs too, and would love to see them come back. I appreciate we have a few grocery stores close to where we live, especially when we runout of something we need. That’s a sweet pic of Angel Joanie.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I too love paper catalogues. I will order from the ones I know. That is what keeps the catalogues coming back. It really does cost them a lot to mail them out so I can see them not sending more to those who don’t want to buy. Look forward to Signals. Prices are $$$ but…they have some things that are different. I would love the Sears, Monkey Ward and Spiegel’s catalogue again. They were enjoyable and useful.
Angel Joanie…I don’t remember you’re having a playdate over there. XXX
I forgot about the Spiegel’s , that was a good one. XO
Great answers. Mom gets a few paper catalogs. sweet flashback.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Good answers! I agree about catalogs. Sometimes navigating companies websites can be so difficult.
Thank you. 🙂
We still get printed catalogs, but not often. That’s okay for us. However, I do miss the Christmas catalog editions. LL Bean is still good to send them out, but they are no where near as thick as they once were and the Vermont Country Store still mails them out. For the most part I’m happy to look at stuff online. This keeps down the clutter a lot except for on my computer where I’m always saving links. lol
I miss the Christmas ones too. XO
We travel 7 plus miles to get to almost everything and I’m okay with that. We live in a small town and we love it. Don’t get that traffic that the bigger cities get.
Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to you. ♥
Your town must be smaller than my town of 10,000. xO
Charlee: “Our Dada used to like to flip through paper catalogs from like The Territory Ahead and the computer companies. The only place that still sends them is Territory Ahead but they were acquired by venture capitalists or something and the quality went down and the prices went up, so Dada doesn’t order from them anymore.”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, you can’t go wrong with lower quality and higher pri … Wait, isn’t that backwards?”
That is backwards and unfortunate.
I love Blue Bloods. You are going to have a great time catching up with it.
Cute pic of Angel Joanie.
It is a well written and acted show. Thank you. 🙂 XO
What a cute flashback of Angel Joanie. Nice fill-ins. I miss those paper catalogs too. Now that I moved into a new house, the only ones I get are from expensive stores that I never could afford let alone like the style of goods they’re trying to sell. Sigh. Lovely fill-ins.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I was a huge fan of Blue Bloods and Donnie. Now I’m a fan of Boston Blue the spin off
Hugs cecilia
I like that show too. XO
Good answers! I miss the paper catalogs too! That’s a sweet flashback!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Sweetheart Angel Joanie♥
I don’t know much about the Wahlberg family except for Mark Wahlberg’s daughter Grace. Grace is 16 and competes in equestrian show jumping nationally. I enjoy keeping up with her on Instagram. Jerry and I have watched Blue Bloods. I miss paper printed catalogs too.
My Fill-Ins~
1. Let’s bring back Shakey’s pizza!
2. _______________is the new ______________________. At a loss for this one.
3. I appreciate that my local area is safe and there is good shopping within walking distance.
4. Heat, humidity and lack of any Chinese restaurant worth eating at is my least favorite part about where I live.
Happy Friday, Meowing Crew!
Thank you. 🙂 I did not know that about Grace. Thank you for these great answers. I have not heard of Shakey’s Pizza, but any kind of pizza works for me. XO

MJ is stinky stuff. lol Hugs, my dear.

Never shopped at Walmart.
That is, until a few months ago, when The Hubby and I were at the hardware store, and he decided a trip to the Wallyworld next door was needed.
At Wallyworld, I found cat food that Henry would eat, and it’s not sold at my favorite pet food place.
So, now I visit Walmart every couple of weeks, and if one doesn’t have what I need, then there is another about 2 miles down the road.
Glad you discovered Walmart and can get Henry’s cat food there. XO
Angel Joanie is cute in that photo! I’d wish they would bring back more family friendly tv shows. We still watch the old sitcoms from years ago because the new shows are pretty awful sometimes. We do watch a couple, but I still don’t like the questionable parts. 🙂
Thank you. 🙂 Same here. I watch Friends. Raymond and Big Bang. XO
You’re lucky about Walmart…mine is 7 miles away, which is pretty much the farthest I drive LOL! I miss paper catalogs too, especially at holiday time.
I bet your Home Goods is closer than mine which is a half an hour away. XO
Having a Wal-Mart near is very convenient.
I’ll bet Angel Joanie loved playdates. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
Yes, it is and yes, she did. 🙂 XO
Our mom still gets oodles and oodles of catalogs. She’d be happy to send you some. Actually, she keeps getting new ones from retailers she has never shopped with. Never watched Blue Bloods nor the new spinoff. We watch very little commercial TV anymore. Mom says she hasn’t smelled marijuana since she was in college! Never smoked it; though, everyone she knew did. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
Thank you for the offer, but no need to send them. Just tell me some names and I can go online and order them. I never smoked it either. XO
Joanie was such a sweetie!
We are going to let our (ancient) Peep do the fill-Ins!
1. Let’s bring back TV Dinners in Aluminium trays!
2. 70 is the new 50. I used to have Saturday Night Fever, but now I have Saturday Night Hot Flashes!
3. I appreciate that my local area grocery store has been totally revitalised (the new owners sell things that I missed from the big city – like Sushi!)
4. Bad Tourists is my least favorite part about where I live. I can’t believe how some people treat the back country campgrounds like a garbage dump! If you pack it in, you pack it out and don’t leave fires unattended!
Thanks for fun! YouR #1 Fans Marvelous and Mom
