Hi everyone! Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.
1. I define success by ________________________.
2. _____________________was an awkward moment.
3. I learned to _________ when I was _________ years old.
4. I can only _________ so much _________ before I _________.
My answers:
1. I define success by appreciating what one has and good relationships with family and friends.
2. Waving back to some people at Walmart was an awkward moment. I don’t like to offend someone so when some lady with 2 kids waved, I waved back, but she was waving at the lady in line behind me- awkward.
3. I learned to drive when I was 16 years old. My dad taught me before I went to driver’s ed.
4. I can only tolerate so much sun before I wilt. I don’t like bright light or being out in the sun. My hubby calls me Drac.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from September 2018. Angel Prancie was posing with the first copy of her book.

Cute picture of Angel Prancie with her book! I remember reading it, it’s absolutely charming! XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Cute photo of Angel Prancie. and good answers.
Thank you. 🙂
I feel the same way about the sun. Cute pic.
Thank you. 🙂
It was a great idea to have Prancie ‘write’ her own book!
1. I define success by feeling that I did my best. Another way that feels successful, is to make a resident smile or even laugh when I am at my work.
2. When I was working in a store, I ruined all the deli trays the manager (my sister…), by accidentally knocking the stacked up boxes to the floor; THAT was an awkward moment. We laugh about that now, decades later😀
3. I learned to sew, embroider and crochet when I was 12 years old from a Swiss lady who lived down the street from us and gave lessons each Saturday morning. (I taught myself to knit years later.)
4. I can only endure so much pop music before I have rto turn it off or change the station, or ask my sons to use their earphones.
Thank you. 🙂 And thank you for these great answers. I am sure you make all the residents happy. Yikes on the deli trays. That is great that you learned all those skills so young. XO
Mama is always waving at people waving at someone behind her and it makes papa laugh. Or NOT waving at someone really waving at HER, haha. Love your name, Drac….and too much sun IS wilting for mama, too. Not good for skin over 40 unless you want lots of new wrinkles….
Glad I am not the only one waving to strangers. XO
Prancie was very proud of her book! Your #1 is something I can totally relate to and your #2 was hilarious……Tee Hee
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I read Prancie’s Prayer and it was a really good story
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Cute pic of Angel Prancie with her book, which I truly enjoyed. I stay out of the sun, because I have skin damage from when I baked in it when I was a teenager.
Thank you. 🙂 Same here. I was a stupid teen. XO
Sweet photo of Angel Prancie.
Great fill ins. I can identify with #2. Several times I have said hello to someone approaching me with a big smile on their face, only for them to walk past me and greet the person behind!
I can’t stand the sun for long. I inherited my gran’s Irish skin and burn very easily. I never go out without my Factor 50.
Thank you. 🙂 I have a 70. XO
Angel Prancie and a book! I learned to drive in the 12th grade at school when I was 16. But my dad
would not let me get a license until I was graduated at 17 and had secured a JOB! That took
some convincing of the employer. But I passed the exam OK, lol.
I guess your dad wanted you to be very responsible. XO
Good answers. I can’t tolerate the sun anymore like I could when I was much younger.
Thank you. 🙂
I have also waved and said hello when it was not meant for me. The other person has occasionally been extra nice and nodded or said hello anyway. 🙂 Angel Prancie, I remember your book and I let my grandchild have it. I illegally learned to drive when I was 14. TheState I lived in would let you have a license at 17 provided of course, that you passed the written and driving tests.
I hope he likes the book. That was young to learn to drive. XO
Charlee: “Our Dada doesn’t like to be in the sun either! If he has to be out in it for any length of time he wears a giant hat and once when they went to the desert everyone else was in shorts and flipflops and he had on a pullover and long pants!”
Chaplin: “Rumor has it when he and Mama decided to move to California Dada’s friends said to him, ‘Why are you moving to California? You hate sunlight.'”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, obviously they had to move to California so they could adopt all of us, sí?”
Charlee: “You make a good point …”
Chaplin: “Hi Angel Prancie! Nice to see you!”
Oona: “What is Angel Prancie looking at on the cover of her book?”
Lulu: “It’s a Nativity Scene for Christmas.”
Oona: “Why is there no Nativity Scene here at Christmas? Oona would like to bat those little people and animals around.”
Lulu: “Asked and answered.”
I bet you would enjoy that Oona. 🙂 I would not want to live in California.
Ellen nothing at all wrong with be friendly!! I do the same as you.
MOL MOL Tell David I am Drac too
Hugs cecilia
MOL! Thank you. 🙂 XO
UV rays break down tattoo ink, so this year I’ve been vigilant about protecting my skin from sun.
It’s made me realize that I really DON’T like heat or lots of sun, and I’ve been avoiding being outside between 8 am and 5 pm, unless covered with sunblock or these SPF sleeves that I noticed that female professional golfers wear.
The sleeves are a good idea. XO
Wave back and maybe you will make a new friend.
I love the photo of Prancie with her book, thank you for linking up with aFeline Friday.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Everyone has had awkward moments of waving back to someone who was wavering to someone else. That’s happened to me plenty of times. 🙂
Good point. 🙂 XO
1. I define success by those that never quit trying.
2. Looking like a train wreck when I ran into an ex was an awkward moment.
3. I learned to ride a bicycle when I was seven years old. I crashed a lot.
4. I can only eat so much coffee chocolate chip gelato before I say it’s enough. I can eat ice cream all day long.
Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥
Thanks for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Never had that kind of gelato before, but I want to try it now. XO

Ellen, I think your #1 is perfect. Ditto on #4! Sweet Prancie and her book♥
My Fill-Ins this Friday~
1. I define success by feeling at peace in this stage of my life. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it 🙂
2. Having a nun stand behind me without me knowing and watch me take the wrapper off a piece of juicy fruit gum and pop it in my mouth during Latin class was an awkward moment. I was sent straight to the office of Sister Margarita.
3. I learned to love horses when I was 2 years old.
4. I can only spend so much time away from horses before I need to get to a riding stables near me.
Thank You, Ellen!
Thank you. And thank you for these great answers. I am sure glad you made it and hope you will be around a long time. Yikes on the nun. I went to public school and there was a mean sub who would make kids stick it at the end of their nose if caught with gum. Thankfully I was not a gum chewer. Glad you still get to bond with horses. My great-nieces were supposed to have lessons over the summer, but the place was completely booked and now the kids are booked withy dance, sports, school, CCD, Girls Scouts. XO
Terrific fill-ins. I think waves are just smiles in motion…and you can never have enough of them. 😻
Good point. 🙂
I like that you waved to someone you didn’t know, because I’ve done that, too. hee hee , then I realize I didn’t know them.
I’m with you on the not wanting to be in the sun very much. I like shade, and night time best. 🙂
Much cooler at night. 🙂 XO
I loved Prancie’s book! I’ve awkwardly waved back at someone who wasn’t waving at me too 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
Those were good answers and a super sweet flashback!
Thank you. 🙂
