Hi everyone. Dusty thanks you all for the early Gotcha Day wishes yesterday and all the purrs and prayers for her eye and seizures. I thank you too.
Time for the fill-ins. I came up with the first two sentences and my wonderful co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with the second two. If you didn’t do a post for them, you can also answer in the comment section. Thank you to all who participate. Don’t forget to add your link to the hop so everyone can visit you. The link is open until Wednesday night.
1. My plans for June include ______________ and ______________________.
2. I would love to have ___________________ mentor me.
3. _________ was an aha moment for me.
4. I was not prepared for _________ when I reached adulthood.
My answers:
1. My plans for June include attending Typhoid Mary’s 7th birthday party and the girls’ dance recital.
2. I would love to have James Altucher mentor me.
3. Last year on my birthday, I realized I had been paying my shrink for 14 years to be my friend when I could have just talked to real friends or family for free was an aha moment for me. I stopped my weekly sessions and actually feel better.
4. I was not prepared for my body aging so fast when I reached adulthood.
We are joining Feline Friday now hosted by Messymimi.
My flashback is from June 2022, Angel Elvira was resting comfortably on the bed in the spare room.

Awww, sweet picture of Angel Elvira! XO
Thank you. 🙂 I wish I had gotten more time her. XO
Great fill ins. I wish I thought of #4. That’s exactly how I feel, too.
A lot of us do. 🙂 XO
Lovely flashback of Angel Elvira.
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Happy Birthday Dusty! We also want to thank you for continuing with Friendly Fill-Ins Hop because it is just so much fun to see what everyone says…….coming up with the sentences must be a BIG CHALLENGE but you and your co-host do a great job with it.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Thank you. 🙂 I am glad you enjoy it. I love to see how you and others answer. XO
What a beautiful picture of Angel Elvira. I think when we go for counseling we feel like we have to come up with something to discuss. When you’re talking to friends and family things just come so much more natural. And more beneficial.
Thank you. 🙂 That is very true. XO
I tell my sister all the time she doesn’t need to see a therapist. She has me to talk to and I don’t charge a thing. lol I’m glad you feel better without the weekly sessions. It helps to look within and to others to get your head where it needs to be. 😉 The only response I have for this week’s fill-ins is the first one. My plans for June include our 46th anniversary and two birthdays, my sister’s which is on our anniversary and our oldest daughter turns 37 at the end of the month.
I hope your sister decides to talk to you instead. Happy Anniversary! XO
I don’t think any of us are prepared for how the body ages (which we are grateful for.) You go from a kid who thinks their birthday is years away. That Christmas will never get here, That the weekend is so far away …all that “stuff” to “Whoa. It was January yesterday! What happened?”
Very true. XO
That is a sweet picture of Angel Elvira. I agree with #4, and I don’t think any of us are prepared. I’ve never gone to a therapist, and try to reason things out myself. My plans for June are to celebrate my birthday on June 17th.
Thank you. 🙂 I wish I had never gone to one. I hope you celebrate all month long. XO
Sweet flashback photo. Mom wasn’t prepared for #4 either.
Thank you. 🙂
The Lady says she couldn’t agree more with #4! Purrs for Dusty…and happy Gotcha Day!
Thank you. 🙂
1. My plans for June include enjoying hubby and our kitties.
2. I would love to have my mother mentor me. I miss her so much.
3. Retiring was an aha moment for me. I had no idea how much fun I would have.
4. I was not prepared for how little my money would buy when I reached adulthood. I was so poor and I worked so hard.
Thank you for co-hosting the Friendly Fill-Ins.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Ellen. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ♥
Thank you for these great answers. Glad you are enjoying your much deserved retirement. And I am sorry your mom is no longer with you. XO
I had to search James Altucher. Very interesting. TM is going to be SEVEN!!! Your #4… YES! Elvira seems to be enjoying the big bed 🙂
My Fill-Ins today seem to have caught me in a retrospective mood…
1. My plans for June include celebrating SSNS’s birthday and eating Grouper sandwiches at Turtles on Little Sarasota Bay.
2. I would love to have Liesl Walsh mentor me.
3. Having someone I truly trust and respect tell me 30 years ago “it is okay to be happy” was an aha moment for me. It sounds like a simple thing but it wasn’t always the case when I was growing up and through most of my adult life.
4. I was not prepared for being the wife of an Army pilot and military life in general when I reached adulthood. All I wanted to do was ride horses and become a competitive equestrian.
Ellen, as always a thank you for the Fill-Ins and a HAPPY Friday to the Meowing Crew!
Thank you for these great answers. I had to look up Liesl Walsh. 🙂 I didn’t realize your hubby was an army pilot- thank you to him for his service and Happy B’day this month. XO
Charlee: “Happy belated actual Gotcha Day, Dusty!”
Java Bean: “Elvira, you look very cozy in your bumper bed! Aren’t bumper beds the best? I have four of them!”
Lulu: “You used to have five of them, before you decided to destroy the one in the living room.”
Java Bean: “Ayyy, a boy has to have a little fun now and then, sí?”
Yes, a little fun. 🙂
Your response about therapy reminds me of a conversation on the film “Crocodile Dundee”:
Mick: “Hasn’t she got any mates? Back there, if you got a problem, you tell Wally. And he tells everyone in town. Brings it out in the open. No more problem.”
This always hits home when I visit with family, where there isn’t much open communication.
Glad to read that you feel better; that’s the important bit!
I never saw that movie. 🙂
Wonderful fill ins
Oh please wish TM a lovely 7th and I know the recitals will be such fun
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. 🙂 I am looking forward to the recital and the party. XO
Good answers to your fill ins. Sorry, this week I ran out of time to think of my own answers…
I’m happy for you that you feel better, with talking with friends rather than a therapist. Friends know you so much better, I think. Adulthood which we as yopungsters want to be has a lot of caveats! Sometimes it is fun to not be an adult for a short time, though, LOL!
Thank you. 🙂 XO
I forgot to say, Elvira looked so comfy and sweet…
And Happy Gotcha Day to Dusty!
Elvira was a sweet girl. Dusty thanks you. XO
That’s a sweet flashback of Elvira and I liked your interesing fill-in answers too.
Thank you. 🙂
1. My plans for June include
ROUTINES, CAREGIVING MY HUSBAND, SPENDING TIME WITH MY SON, READING, WRITING ON MY BLOGS, LISTENING TO MUSIC, and PLAYING WITH MY CATS_( I LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE ).
2. I would love to have
BESIDES Jesus, (SORRY I TRY TO BE INDEPENDENT), NO ONE mentor me.
3. REALIZING I WAS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR was an aha moment for me. (WE ALL NEED TO GROW UP)
4. I was not prepared for HOW BELIEFS WOULD MATTER IN A marriage when I reached adulthood.
Thank you for these great answers. I live a simple life too and wouldn’t have it any other way. XO
I’m so glad Dusty came to you when she needed a person.
I wish Typhoid Mary many happy returns of the day.
The professional help may have started as professional, but eventually it became friendship and I’m glad you realized it.
You were so good to take in Angel Elvira and Friday. I know she loved you for it and Friday still does. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
Me too. Thank you for the b’day wishes for TM. I am thankful I get to be their mom. XO
Happy Gotcha Day sweet Dusty!
Thank you. 🙂
I’m there with you on #4! MOL! Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful flashback! I love your answer to #3. Just my opinion, but I think shrinks often do more harm than good.
Thank you. I agree. 🙂
Great answers. June sounds like a fun month for you. The flashback photo is adorable.
Thank you. Yes, busy and fun. 🙂
Happy Gotcha Day to Dusty!!!
It’s funny you say that about your therapist because that’s exactly how I feel – I feel like I’m paying her to jus be my friend and listen!
Have a good weekend!
