Hi everyone. Grammie told me the boys deserve a day off.
Penelope was in a “paint me like one of your French girls” pose.
and we join the Cat Blogosphere hop every day.
And today is O day on The A-Z Blogging Challenge.
O for ornament. Every year I make an ornament to give everyone at our annual Christmas party. Back in 2019, I made 100 snowflakes, one of each in a pattern book- way more than the amount of people we host ( usually 25).
O is also for Oplatek wafer. It is a Polish tradition to break this with everyone and wish them a good new year and stuff like that. I had some left, but it is all broken up. The pink one is supposed to be shared with animals, but none of my cats were ever interested. To read more about it, click here.
Ahahaha, Penelope, oh my! Very beautiful ornaments, Ellen! XO
Thank you. 🙂 XO
Penelope looks like she’s being coy and suave!! LOL! Yup just like in those paintings of old!
That was interesting about those wafers. It seems to me that my oma and mother used a similar product when they baked, to keep things from sticking to the baking sheet. Us kids liked to nibble the leftovers when the baking was done…but I do not remember what it was called. I just use parchment paper.
That sounds interesting too. XO
WOW madame de Penelope, we’re impurressed about your purrfect pose skills😸😸Your ornaments always look great. You’re very creative, Ellen😺Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all you🐾😽💞
Thank you for he compliment. XO
Penny – definitely centerfold material! You have some wonderful traditions – those snowflakes are fabulous and the wafer looks like it might need a stiff drink with it! LOL
Hugs, Pam
Thank you. 🙂 I am sure some have a stiff drink. XO
It’s great seeing Penelope so well settled into your home now. I remember when I used to crochet ornaments for the tree and it was really fun to do. I have gotten rid of all them after all these years I kind of got tired of looking at them guess.
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, after a week she was settled. I will never get rid of these- too much work. XO
Penelope! MY gosh! I wouldn’t have thought of you quite tat way! My goodness! You’ll have the mancats peeking in through the windows. You may get offers to go on the road. Mom said she is going to go see about the Oplatek wafer. She is particularly interested in the pink one!!
Thank you. 🙂 Yes, the mancats are going to be lining up. XO
It’s good to see Penelope adjusting to her new home. I love her ooh la la pose. MOL
Thank you. 🙂 XO
You’re welcome, Ellen.
I love Penelope’s pose. You are right on when you say it’s a throwback to 1800s French paintings.
Dani’s Dada is of Polish extraction. His parents came here from the old country. I’ve never heard him mention Oplatek wafer. I’m going to ask him about it when he wakes up.
Thank you. 🙂 I am eager to know if he has heard of it. XO
Cats like to be comfortable, no doubt about it.
They are experts at finding comfort. 🙂
That’s quite the pose, Penelope.
Thank you. 🙂
Penelope you made me laugh “Penelope was in a “paint me like one of your French girls” pose.”

Oh Penelope…you saucy girl! Very cute pose. LOVE that wafer breaking custom. Kudos to your mum for being so generous and gracious making all those ornaments. Giving to others is a great path to happiness.
