Purrs and Prayers Needed for Elvira

Hi everyone. Penny is letting me take over today so I can tell you about Elvira and ask for purrs and prayers.

Saturday morning, I heard a cat fight so I got up to find that Rudy had Elvira cornered. Rudy is cute, but he can be naughty. Everyone seemed fine until Sunday afternoon when I noticed Elvira had a wound on her abdomen and it looked swollen and pussy. I made her an appointment first thing this morning thinking she just needed pain meds and an antibiotic. The vet told me that Rudy couldn’t have done this and she thinks it is a tumor. It is definitely infected and there is a lot of dead tissue.  I chose not to do a needle aspirate because it would be inconclusive, and I knew she was going to need surgery. They are able to do it tomorrow and after that I will know more. They will also do a chest x-ray to see if there is any spread if it is cancer. I am remaining hopeful despite what the vet said because I am an eternal optimist. Plus, she has been acting fine, playing, eating and hasn’t lost weight.

The estimate is $1700-$2400. We will get 10 % off because my hubby is a senior.

I hate to ask for help because I know everything is expensive right now, but any help would be greatly appreciated. My hubby is the one paying for this and he is not happy about it.  He would not have done the surgery which is an option I was given, but not one that I would take. If you can’t afford to help, prayers are free and are also greatly appreciated.  I am not setting up a GoFund because I have heard they take a percentage. I have paypal with my email,

pi*****@ao*.com

. Thank you. I will keep you updated.
