Wordless Wednesday

Emmy snoozing on one of her toys.

Emmy thanks you all for the purrs and prayers. Her internist explained to me there are no other options to lower her blood pressure and it is extremely high. So high that it puts her at risk of a stroke.  So I agreed to the amlodipine.  She will get her bp checked next Monday to be sure it doesn’t get too low.

I am also giving her a kidney supplement, Aminavast and I just started her on milk thistle for her liver. Of all her issues, the liver is the only one I can’t control. She is on meds for thyroid, heart and blood pressure.

The liver growth could benign which is still a problem because it will keep growing. Liver cancer in cats is rare, but it could be a metastasis from cancer somewhere else which is not good either. She can’t be put under for any testing so my only hope on that is that the milk thistle could help her liver. Sorry for the babble, but I wanted to get you all caught up on Emmy. Thank you for your continued prayers and purrs.

  1. Thanks for giving us an update about Emmy. The poor thing with so many health issues. Sometimes a kitty just can’t catch a break, but you will help her as best you can…and you already are.

Hugs to you and Emmy and all of you as well at the Pilch Kitty Sanctuary. I think that is a suitable name, right??

We’ll keep Emmy and all of you as well, in our thoughts and pawyers. POTP, Emmy!

  2. Charlee: “Amlodipine, we know that name! Dada has been taking it since that time his brain exploded. He hasn’t been back to the hospital, so it must be helping!”
Chaplin: “We send lots of purrs for Emmy to do well on it too!”
Lulu: “And we dogs send tail wags!”

  3. Oh, wow. That sure is a lot, Mom Ellen. We will keep right on purring and praying that the regimen will keep Emmy feeling good and doing okay. XO

  4. Sending Emmy tons of hugs…..she has a lot going on but the BEST thing in the entire world is she’s with YOU. There’s nowhere else that she would get the love, care, concern and comfort that she has at “Pilch-Haven”….hope the BP comes down where it should be and that your treatment of her liver issue works. The main thing is she’s comfortable and well loved and both of those are EVER SO TRUE.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy

  11. Our Tuuxie girl Sally Cookie was diagnosed with a liver tumor. She took the milk thistle and a medicine called Denamarin. She had no problems with either one, and had many more good months.

    1. Thank you for letting me know about these. I am sorry about Sally Cookie. XO

  12. Ellen, sending prayers and hugs for Emmy and you. I am trying to get caught up, we have been gone for a short getaway. I’m not good at commenting on my phone, can’t see a dang thing. I hope the amlodipine(?sp) lowers her blood pressure.
