Thankful Thursday

Hi everyone!Rosie thanks you all for the compliments on yesterday’s blog.

We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop I am also joining Cactus Catz’ Sabi Saturday ( I know, I am late). Sabi Saturday is the place to show something you have repurposed, rescued and love. I am thankful I saved my grandfather’s lunch box. I have it in my kitchen and it holds extra keychains. Here is Penny posing with it.

We are also joining  Sammy’s Poetry Day. Here is my poem to go with this photo prompt provided by Teddy’s mom.

We’ve done the tango, waltz and foxtrot
those judges can’t be bought.
I really don’t care if I win or lose,
I just want out of these awful shoes.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. I came up with the first two and my co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I know spring is almost here when ___________________.

2. I find ____________________confusing.

3. I have a strong opinion on _________.
4. _________ is the strangest thing I have ever eaten.

  1. What a PERFECT poem for the photo this week! I imagine dancers really often have the worst problem with their feet because of the shoes they have to wear and the gyrations they must do! I much prefer a slow dance with no athletic maneuvers. HAHA How very cool that you have your Grandfather’s lunch box. A wonderful memento.

    Hugs, Pam

  2. I imagine that is what a lot of dancers really think. I think it’s cool you have your grandfathers lunchbox. I have an old tackle box that my dad used when I was a kid. I haven’t fished in fifteen years but I would still never part with it.

  3. It’s great that you have your grandfather’s lunch box, and i am glad you have a goos use for it so you see it often and are reminded of him.

Fun poem, those shoes would kill me, too.

  4. Penny is a wonderful poser. My dad had a lunchbox just like that. A fond memory.

Love the poem and yes on getting those heels off.

I’m all ready for the Friendly Fill-ins. Great questions as always. Thank you for co-hosting the fun.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Big hug to you and scritches to the all the kitties. ♥

  5. That must be a box full of memories, miss Ellen💗and what a lovely picture Penny and poem too…Granny can imagine how it felt to dance in that shoes as she had them herself…MOL…😸Pawkisses for a wonderful Thursday🐾😽💞

    1. Oh, and by the way, I appreciate you “playing along” regarding my tropical fish hidden in plain sight. Heh… To be fair to you, I cropped and resized the picture from one day to the next so my text showed up. ~shakes head~ It might have caused your minor confusion rather than vision issues. 🙂

  6. I’m with you on the shoes! I still use my grandma’s slotted spoon and crocheted hot pads.

  7. Rosie, the boys of our Tribe think you’re beautiful (they said “hubba hubba”) and the girls are a bit jealous.

As far as the lunchbox is concerned, Oliver, our resident foodaholic says it’s a travesty to keep keys and not lunch in that lovely thing!

  8. Great poem! I never could wear heels like that, I’m too klutzy and I’d be bound to hurt myself just walking, never mind dancing. LOL

  9. Lulu: “Our Dada says he bets our Mama would agree with that poem!”
Charlee: “He also says that at the dance studio, he complained to his instructor that his feet hurt once.”
    Chaplin: “Once.”
Lulu: “He learned not to do that again!”

  10. I’ve always been fond of old-fashioned lunchboxes like this. And you sure found the purrfect model for it! Your poem, as always, had me smiling. As someone who hasn’t worn high heels in over 10 years, I can’t even begin to imagine dancing in them. Purrs!
