Awww….Monday

We are joining Comedy Plus’ Awww….Mondays  and we are also joining Cactus Catz Sabi Saturday which is now back.  It is a great place to show something you rescued, repurposed or an an older item handed down to you.

Drake is posing with my Nanny doll. Back in 1996 or 97 , I bought my niece a Nanny Doll and one for me. Sadly, she no longer has hers. Mine was decorative, but now I let The Great One play with it when she visits. She always asks to play with the Bananey doll 🙂 I should change the battery even though this one is the original and she still talks. Phoebe wrote about it back in 2017, to see her post, click here.

By the way, did you know Fran Drescher is in a new show called Indebted? I have seen the first 2 episodes and I like it.

I am joining The Book Date’s It’s Monday ! What Are YOU Reading?

I am once again trying to declutter. Let It Go by Peter Walsh and Cozy Minimalist Home by Myquyllyn Smith are great inspirations for doing that. I wish I could get my hubby on board though.

I am also seeking joy so I just read The Joy of Appreciative Living by Jacqueline Kelm and The Joy Plan by Kaia Roman. The main idea of these is finding something to be thankful for daily. And daydreaming about what you want once a week to help manifest it.

Penny will be here tomorrow with a tip for you.

    1. I am lucky I have a friend willing to take the stuff and what she doesn’t want goes to the senior center for the elderly.

  1. Not familiar with those dolls but I think I was just a little “late” for them since I’m older than dirt (tee hee). We did see that Fran Drescher had a new series – she was great as The Nanny so I’m sure the new show is great too. Here’s wishing you luck with de-cluttering…..I go through “periods” of that tackling one space at a time. It’s the only way I can handle it. Otherwise it can be a bit overwhelming!! Happy Monday………..

    Hugs, Pam

  2. I’ve been decluttering for years now. I read several minimalist blogs – Be More with Less, Minimalist Mom, Zen Habits, but I haven’t bought any books on the subject. I’ve managed to downsize my home library significantly- which was one of the most problematic areas in my house. Now I try to borrow books from libraries whenever I can, so that I don’t buy as many books as I did.

  3. Don’t know anything about those dolls. Great that The Great One is playing with it. It has new life! I am a minimalist so things are pretty decluttered here. I have got some issues but cluttered isn’t one of them. I have to stop eating food that makes me gain weight… now there is an issue. Wouldn’t hurt if I walked some either but I HATE exercising! I love riding my bike but it makes my butt bones hurt!!!!!!!!!!!! More than you wanted to know this morning, I’m sure.

  4. Mom said she was crazy about Fran Drescher and loved the Nanny and could listen to that voice forever! I think she is in a new show still called The Nanny…I think?

  5. I’m doing the decluttering right now, getting things in bags that I don’t need and will be calling a charity to pick them up soon. It’s a great idea to sort through your clothing and household items. Have a great day Ellen.

  6. Drake is a handsome mancat. I didn’t know about the doll either and I’ve no idea who Fran is.

We have areas that need attention, but we’ve been de-cluttering for a long time. Less is more is our motto.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Big hug. ♥

  7. Oh! At first I didn’t understand why you mentioned Fran Drescher . ~shakes head~ I never watched that show, though. We definitely share that uphill battle with de-cluttering. ~sigh~ My husband hates letting go of things and I’m not much better. Take care, my dear!

  8. Drake, we just love that photo of you. We were doing some decluttering this past weekend of paperwork and stuff. It made the two days go by so quickly. Thanks for sharing. We will have to check out that new Fran Drescher show. Have a wonderful rest of your week.

  9. We have never collected clutter, and decluttering is a way of life at our home. Becoming Minimalist and Zen Habits are great blogs about it, and we’ve read many books by Dominique Loreau (in French). Purrs

  10. Drake is so handsome! And your Nanny doll really brought back some memories. I never had one of the dolls, but my family watched The Nanny all the time when I was a kid. And I’m still in the process of decluttering my home. I’ve done great in some areas, and not so great in others. The kitchen cabinets are actually one of the areas at my house that really need some work. Purrs!

  11. It is so wonderful to go through old photos. Thank goodness for memories. We always are trying to declutter but it is so hard. We do the “Put aside and if not used in another 6 months” routine and that seems to help
Dad, Timmy, Toby, Rumpy Bumpy, Miss Fitz and Einstein

    1. That is a good idea. I will have to try that, although it is more my hubby that won’t declutter.

  12. Perhaps in time your hubby will come around and you will de-clutter. It’s not easy for everyone to get into that frame of mind. xo
