Happy Monday everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. Phoebe got lots of visitors again, maybe I should let her write more often.
As most of you know, we are having a giveaway for 2 catnip crochet turkeyΒ legs and a wishbone ornament. If you haven’t commented yet, please do today or tomorrow. The winner will be announced Wednesday. Then we will do it again next week and the week after.
I am especially proud of the turkey legs because after 4 years of crocheting, I have made my own pattern. I am going to post it here and on Ravelry. If you don’t know about Ravelry, it is a great website for all patterns knit and crochet and most are free.
Here is the pattern: I use Sugar and Cream brand cotton yarn, but most yarns should work. You need white and tan or brown depending on how you like the turkey. Hook is size G/6-4.25mm
With brown or tan chain 2
6 single crochet into 1st chain (6sc)
2 single crochet in each of the 6 sc ( 12sc)
2 single crochet, 1 single crochet – 6 times ( 18sc)
single crochet decrease 9 times ( 9sc)
single crochet in each of the 9 single crochet -4 timesΒ ( 36sc)
Change to white: 9 single crochet-2 times (18 sc)
Stuff with polyfill and a teaspoon of catnip and crochet bottom together-give to kitty.
We love those turkey legs.

Hugs, Sammy
Awww…thank you-much healthier for the kitties than table scraps.
We think it’s so cool that you crochet cat toys! Our mom doesn’t even know how to crochet.
I started crocheting 4 years ago by taking a class at the library. I haven’t advanced much, but I only wanted to make cat toys so I am happy. If I can do it ( I am a leftie), I am sure your mom can too.
We think you are talented and creative! Good idea for those turkey legs!!
Those are so darn cool and very creative too!
Thank you π
You gave my human crochet flashbacks with this post – she used to crochet but she never seems to have time for it anymore now that she’s on the computer so much. We love those turkey legs and think they are a great design!
They only take 15 minutes to make, she should try.

Gobble, gobble coming and soon we’ll be eating real ones!

Turkey legs! Turkey legs! How about some tofu-kry legs? π
That is a good idea too, but no turkeys were harmed in the making of these π
TW used to crochet until she welcomes cats into her house. Then all bets were off and she says she prolly wouldnβt know how. Youβre lucky your Mom makes these cute toys.
I am sure it would come right back to her.

Those turkey legs are great! We love them, and appreciate you giving us all a chance to win. π
Thank you.
We are so happy to enter and try and win these great turkey legs. Dads Mom was very into crochet and for years would make and sell her designs to the little magazines that used to be in the supermarket checkout. His sister had one of the first computers and Mom would just whip something up and then make a second one telling his sister what she did. He still has some ornaments that she made him and brings them out during the holidays.

That is so sweet, your grandma musy have been really fantastic at crochet to seel her patterns. It is nice that your dad has the Christmas ornaments.
If Mom tried to crochet something like that she would have her fingers all tangled up! We think those are mighty awesome. Count us in for the drawing. Have a super day!

The guys – a tuxedo and a solid black cat – say “mmmmmmm – yummy” and forgot, as usual, to say “thank you” so I say it for them. Thanks for sharing this yummy pattern. Mind you, catnip isn’t MY favorite flavor, but the guys disagree. And we all know that cats rule, right? π
Yes, cats rule- they sure rule around here with an iron paw π Thanks for writing.
OMG those turkey legs are fantastic! thanks for the directions. the cats of my house will love it!
Glad you like them π
