Hi everyone! We are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Joanie is thankful that The Great One did not have her dress up in any costumes. She was too busy making these ornaments (close your eyes Grammie).
Here is our poem for Sammy’s Poetry Day based on this photo:
Crowds of people everwhere
buying clothes, toys and footwear.
Everyone wants to find a sale,
wrap that gift and get it in the mail.
All that is good and fine,
but let us not forget the divine.
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins for tomorrow. Mom came up with the first two and our co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. I really need to ___________________.
2. My favorite Christmas ( or Hanukkah) decoration is __________________________.
3. It’s beginning to look a lot like _________.
4. This time of year, I eat my fair share of _________.
Very cool rhyme, Ellen!
Thank you 🙂
I really like the poem, especially the last line. That picture is almost scary!
The ornaments the Great One made are so pretty!
Thank you. XO
That picture reminds me of the fact that I hate shopping at this tim eof the year, at least in places like that. Way too big of crowds.
I loved your poem and its sentiments.
Hey, those are very pretty ornaments!
Thank you and thank you. 🙂
Not getting dressed up is something to be thankful for Joanie!
We really like that poem 🙂
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
Very true 🙂 Thank you. XO
Those ornaments are really cute!
Thank you. 🙂
YES! “The reason for the season” seems to be at the bottom of everyone’s thoughts – at least this crowd in the mall in the photo I bet! Love the poem. Glad to hear Joanie didn’t have to endure dressing up while The Great One visited – that’s a break!
Hugs, Teddy
Thank you. XO
Perfect poem! Making ornaments was a great idea for The Great One… they are darling snowflakes!
Thank you. I like to do art with her 🙂
Those ornaments sure are pretty and the poem is so cool…and true too. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thank you. 🙂
Cute ornaments! Nice poem. The image makes me glad to no longer gift shop. Be well! And thank you for the kind word about my friend’s publishing book.
Thank you. And you’re welcome, it looks like a good book.
That photo of mall shoppers made me cringe! I don’t like crowds and am not all that fond of shopping… Still, I know that some people love such things, so I’m glad there is so much variety in our world.
I like shopping, but not crowds.
We like those ornaments too. They are so pretty. Sure glad I am not out in those crowds. You all have a great day.
Thank you. We hope you had a great day too. XO
That is a very good poem and so are the ornaments.
Thank you 🙂
I think this is the first time I’ve visited your blog and not seen one of your kitties.
Oh that crowd. Yikes. I refuse to do that.
I’m all ready for Friendly Fill-ins.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties. ♥
I look forward to your answers. Sorry I skipped kitties today 🙂
Ellen that is a beautiful poem!!
I love the last line
Hugs Cecilia
Thank you. XO
Aww, Joanie…we know that you secretly enjoy being dressed up! Your poem reminds me of the sermon that Dudley wrote for the Bishop at the end of “The Bishop’s Wife” with Cary Grant, David Niven, and Loretta Young. He mentions that everyone has stockings and gifts, all except the baby in the manger.
I have never seen that movie, I should watch it.
Mom wouldn’t go near that Mall (or any other) with crowds like that! NO sale is worth it!
The Florida Furkids
Same here 🙂
Joanie, we always love seeing you in your costumes. Always so cute. Love the ornaments that you made. They look beautiful. Thanks for sharing your poem. Have a wonderful day.

Where is that mall? Pretty crowded. Our mom doesn’t like, I mean hates, crowded places.
Not sure where this one is. I don’t like crowds either.
Purrfect ending to your poem. Too many people do forget the reason for the season. Love the ornaments. What is the base made from? XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Thank you. I got them from Oriental Trading Company, they are cardboard. XO
Whew. Those lovely ornaments spared you some wardrobe changes, Joanie. And I absolutely adore your poem. The last line is so perfect, and also so true. I can’t wait to see your fill-ins!
Thank you. We look forward to yours too.
Those are such pretty ornaments! It must be a lot of fun getting together with The Great One 🙂
Thank you. Yes, it is 🙂
That’s a great poem!
Thank you 🙂
Those ornaments are beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
Such crowds make me glad for online shopping.
Joanie, i wonder if you are relieved or disappointed about the costumes.
She was relieved 🙂
Oh I loved the poem best! That’s right. XXXX
Mommy speaks for the fill-ins:
1. I really need to find a way to keep exercising. Too many trips back and forth with time spent a distance away each day.
2. My favorite Christmas decoration is a rubber start Katie’s favorite brovver made in kindergarten. It is very crumbly now.
3. It’s beginning to look a lot like Winter!
4. This time of year I eat my fair share of sweets, I’m sorry to say.
Thank you for these great answers. I am sorry you haven’t been able to exercise. Me too with the sweets. 🙂 XO
It’s always nice to get a little break, right, Joanie, even though we know you love entertaining The Great One!
Very true 🙂
PS.
I am extraordinarily grateful for our CB family of friends and the love they have in their hearts for all the kitties and woofies, no matter where. I am grateful to be a family member. XX
I am thankful for your friendship and to be part of the blogosphere. XO
Ooh, some Grandma is going to be delighted with those beautiful snowflake ornaments.
That is a beautiful poem with a very good message.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Thank you. XO
We’re glad you didn’t have to get dressed up, Joanie. TGO’s ornaments are so cute!
Thank you 🙂
What cute ornaments! You did a pawesome job! That mall gave our mommy hives. She hasn’t done anything for Christmas yet so she’s afraid she’s going to have to venture into something like that.
That would be scary.
Those are very cute ornaments.
Thank you 🙂
Cute ornaments! And oh my gosh. Too many peoples. TOO MANY PEOPLES (according to the herd lol)
Thank you. I agree, too many people.
Great poem! That is why Mom stays out of the malls at this time of year!
Laila
